I was contacted by @khadigayousef2024 to make a post for Majd, his baby, to be saved. Majd has a very severe respiratory illness. He is unable to breathe well anymore and desperately needs treatment, which he can obviously not get while he and his parents are still stuck in Gaza.

I don't know how to verbalize this properly because I'm frustrated and I've been frustrated and tired for so long.

I don't have sympathy left for white liberals putting on a song and dance of how these election results are a huge blow to their mental health and everyone checking in with everyone "don't do anything you can't undo! take care of yourself! go to therapy! make sure you talk to someone!"

And I think it's because of just how these same people saying that shit were the ones talking down to Palestinians constantly about our personal decision surrounding the vote. To them, this is the worst case scenario. Power shifting hands from one warmongering egomaniac to another. Ignoring the fact that, to us, the worst case scenario has already happened and has been happening for over a year.

I am keeping up hope because I owe it to the people in Gaza to be hopeful about the future -- their future.

But speaking on myself, I have not been okay for a long time. I am not the same person I was a year ago. I am tired and nothing in my life feels worthwhile. I don't even feel like a person anymore.

And I have to watch white people who are, as we speak, sending harassment to my friends and other Palestinians, cry and whine about how it's the end of the world.

Did you check in with your Palestinian friends (assuming you have any with the way you act) when the world ended for them?? Do you regularly check in with your Palestinian friends who don't feel normal anymore? Who haven't felt normal for a while? Who don't even remember what normal feels like?

Or are we just expected to stay strong and hold your hand when you're sad?

We also lost our house in which we used to live. We were displaced more than 10 times from one place to another, searching for safety. In fact, there is no safe place. We had many ambitions and hopes. I graduated from university and intended to travel, work, and many other things. But the war came and destroyed all that. We also had a source of livelihood and clothing shops.🇵🇸🍉

The occupation completely destroyed and burned them all, and we no longer have any source of livelihood. We also lack access to food and drinking water. We suffered from many diseases, such as hepatitis and malnutrition due to the lack of a suitable environment for life, and I had surgery to remove the gallbladder. Here we live in hunger and fear. My mother also suffers from chronic diseases and we cannot find a cure for them. Our lives are in danger. I currently reside in Kuwait, but my heart and thoughts are constantly with my family, who remain in Gaza amidst the ongoing war and devastation. My wife, Muna, and our 2-year-old son, Hashem, live under the constant threat of violence and uncertainty. Every day, I worry about their safety and well-being, and my greatest wish is to bring them to Kuwait, where they can find peace, security, and a fresh start.

After graduating, I started a small cleaning products business in Gaza with my brother, Aboud. We built a modest lab from scratch, and over time, it became a stable source of income for our family. We dreamed of expanding and creating more opportunities, but our hopes were shattered when relentless airstrikes destroyed everything we had built, reducing our lab and future to rubble.

The war didn’t just take away our business; it also separated me from my family. It has been over a year since I’ve seen my wife and child in person. Unable to travel back to Gaza, I feel helpless being so far away from them during these difficult times. I grew up in northern Gaza, where we lived a life of comfort and love 💖🏠, all thanks to my mother, Maysaa ❤️, who has a heart condition 💔, and my father, who worked hard to provide a bright future for us 🌟👨‍👩‍👧‍👦. My siblings—Shabaan, Hanan, Ahmed, and my youngest sister Ameera, our little darling 👧💖—were my closest friends, and we shared dreams 🌈, laughter 😂, and plans for a life full of hope 🌅✨.

I was a student 📚 at the Rosary Sisters School, part of the Union of Churches. My school meant so much to me; it was more than a building 🏫. It was my second home 🏡, a place where I felt safe and happy 😊💛, surrounded by friends and childhood laughter 👦👧💫.

But in a single moment, our lives were turned upside down 💔😢. The war destroyed our home 🏠💥 and my beloved school 🏫💔, and we were forced to flee south under heavy bombing 💣💥💨. We took refuge in the Nuseirat area, hoping to find safety 🤲. Yet even there, we were not spared; fighter jets bombed ✈️💥 the very place where we had sought shelter. I witnessed family members being taken from us in that attack 🕊️😭.

I share my story today as a child who has lost almost everything: my home 🏠💔, my school 🏫🌪️, family members 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦🕊️, and even my dreams 🌠. I am reaching out not only to share the pain 💔 but to search for a glimmer of hope 🌄 to help rebuild our lives.

Most of us will never know the agony of being a parent that does everything to provide for their child, only to keep coming up empty. Of the immense suffering and self-loathing that comes with being responsible for this little life, and feeling like you're failing: to keep them safe, warm, sheltered, fed. Of holding your child, your toddler, your newborn, watching them slowly waste away from that relentless, gnawing hunger you can't stop (one that you feel yourself). Watching as they howl in pain, and the hollowness that comes when your child becomes too weak even to do that. All the while being totally helpless to stop it because it's not up to you.

Most of us will only see the aftermath of such a thing: a parent carrying the far-too-light shroud of their child, pictured under a headline that details how starvation has taken hold of some given population. Distant and removed from us.

Except that it isn't. There are so many desperate parents who've run out of options, for whom this isn't some abstraction, who are asking—begging—us for our help. Just so they'll be able to buy some of the shit canned food left from the last aid delivery, and a couple loaves of bread to feed their children with. Extortionately pricey because of scarcity, but it's enough to keep their children in a state of "acute malnutrition" rather than "catastrophic hunger", so they'll pay anything for it.

Attacks on NGOs & prevention of aid into Gaza puts every single person there at risk of a slow death due to starvation. Especially children, like Samah's newborn baby boy, her little 2 year-old girl, and their big sister (who's only 9). But we can help. What's pocket money for us, is an invaluable lifeline to parents like Samah. At a time when so many seem to have decided to live in an alternate universe in which deliberate starvation and mass slaughter of civilians is acceptable, we have to do what we can to oppose it. Not to push it away, to ignore it, to decide it's been going on so long we don't care or that it's hopeless so give up, but to grit our teeth, dig our heels in, and say "no, seriously, what the fuck are we doing here?"

tldr: donate to Samah so she can buy food for her kids so they don't starve to death. please. and thank you. :)
