Hardest Part of Content Creation
What is the hardest part about content creation to me?
Social media is usually about quick information that catches your eye. I struggle with condensing information in a helpful way and making creative witty titles. I have difficulty with the text/description elements when it comes to content creation and writing in general. I struggle with condensing information in a helpful way and creative witty titles.
I think creating visuals and writing out super rough bullet points first helps me work though the final text.
I also get a bit nervous about posting things in general. It's not the thought of a failing post that scares me, but a post that a lot of people see.

Easiest Part of Content Creation
What will be the easiest part of content creation for me?
I find the visual elements the easiest part of content creation, especially if there is a branding guide (a set of guidelines for a brand including colors, fonts, logos, etc.) I have been using specific font pairing for the assignments for this class, and I will apply them to the content.
I am also familiar with making conservation posts on Instagram, so the content subjects have been easier to figure out. I am taking the easy route to create my first two posts by connecting them to conservation holidays. May 22 is the International Day for Biological Diversity and May 23 is World Turtle day.

Assignment Questions
Both Projects: A) I have been including my name and the module on the top of my projects. Should I put my name on the final projects (How to Write Guide and Content Analysis), and if so where?
How to Write Guide:
B) In my feedback you said to use an appendix (a graph or visual that explains part of the data). Should I put the complete data at the end, so the appendix(s) can refer to it, or do I leave the complete data out?
Reflection #4:
C) Part 3 of the reflection asks me to analyze the "Tumblr posts above". Is this referring to the posts I chose for part 1 or do I choose a post that best matches the questions?

Module 2 helped me recognize 'successful' content using data too. Before I was looking at success by comparing data to the 'bigger' creators, but now I know success is measured on a more individual scale, keeping past data and goals in mind.
Data Analysis
Things from the Data Analysis in Module 2 that are helping me now on content analysis is, that I now have an understanding and background knowledge on media data that I didn't have before. I can now recognize 'successful' content and understand what decisions had to be made to make it so 'successful.

Depending on what accounts you are gathering data from, you could use a site like Social Blade to gather information. I'm not sure if it offers more than what you see on YouTube, but it might help.
Original Content Writing 1 (what digital space are you planning to focus on?)
I plan to focus on YouTube as it's a platform that I’m more familiar with as a viewer. I find that data is easy to access and analyze as most of it is viewable to the public and can be easily compared with other things.

I also went with Instagram because it was the most familiar to me.
If you want to try another social media site for data in the future, Facebook might feel less overwhelming because it’s run by the same company as Instagram.
Why I Chose Instagram
For this project, I decided to focus on Instagram. Since I'm already pretty familiar with the digital space, I will be able to build upon what I already know about how Instagram works. I felt that choosing a different social media app or website I'm not as familiar with would make it harder for me to complete the project. I would have to spend time learning how they work that I could be spending analyzing data from posts. In the future, I think it will be a good idea for me to analyze data from other social media websites, especially if I plan to use them. For now, focusing on Instagram is the right choice for me.

Data Revelations
Learning from the Data Analysis Practice Project
I want to improve by addressing the criticism from the data analysis practice project. For one, I need to better support my claims with direct references to data. The references in my project were too subtle, to the point that only I knew what I was referencing. As said in my criticism, "You need to explicitly state what the comparison is, what you're using as proof."
I need to explain why MY analysis is worth looking at and why/how I made that point. If my reference question and answer to said question don't have a clear purpose that is relevant to the audience they won't want have a reason to read it. While I write, I need to consider what makes my point unique and worth reading.

Finding Conservation Accounts
How am I narrowing down my account options?
I am trying to avoid subjects I casually enjoy (like you said), so I thought going in the opposite direction, work subjects, would make sense. I intern with a non-profit that helps conservation organizations, so I might go in the conservation direction of posts. Narrowing conservation down to PA specific conservation to make it more specific. I was hoping that I could apply the writing guide and what I learn to the content I will create when my internship starts up again.
I have looked at accounts like: paDCNR, panativeplantsociety, and conserve_pa on Instagram, but I want to find more. So far, I have been looking up related tags, looking at similar accounts through follows, or just looking up key words that might be in their username or description.

Which Digital Space?
Instagram
I think I am going to focus on Instagram of my project. Not only have I had Instagram for the longest, I have used Instagram for work in the past. Instagram allows users to make content in post, video, and reel forms. Instagram and Facebook are also managed by the same company, meaning If I make a video for Instagram, I can post it to my connected Facebook account.
It would be easy to find multiple accounts form the same 'genre' using the tag system, looking a similar accounts follows, or just looking up key words that might be in their username or description.
Overall, I think I would have the easiest time navigating, gathering data, and posting on Instagram.

Content Analysis
A) For the research question: are we supposed to be asking a question about a specific type of data, like hashtags OR are we asking a question and answering it with any data that applies
How to Write Guide
B) Do we have to post content for the same subject we are researching? If so should we be posting on the same platform as our research subject?
C) Is the guide specifically talking about writing for our chosen subject, for the platform, or writing web content in general?
Week 4
D) Week 3 and Week 4 are in the same module. Should I look ahead at the week 4 assignments or should I just focus on the week 3 assignments.
Super off Topic -In some of your videos you wear a short cut long-sleeved shirt thing over your dress. Is there name for that type of shirt (I could only find mid-way ones)? If you remember, where did you get it?

-Maybe you could screen shot the individual accounts (without the follow button) and connect them with lines or put 2 underneath the English and World Language account.
-You could combine the screen-shotted images in something like Canva to quickly edit them.

How would I be able to create a visual diagram sort of thing with this kind of information? Having multiple MU oriented accounts following/interacting with the account I was researching.

-The images work well and the captions definitely help
-Maybe in the last pair of images you could show the difference between the two photos in a caption
-You could play with subheadings for the paragraphs: types of data, the audience
Is this good design? Or is this boring?
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/4e76346b51e124d49cd83a5a9c578062/ccf5ce4b59fd72b7-e4/s540x810/da0a6506cee4b3f585882abf9c5e02e4839ea4b8.jpg)
The assignment says: "Each student should add some design elements to this final submission. I don't want an essay!!! Use images, use your data graph, use headings and subheadings. Play with color. Build a design that helps convey your ideas about information literacy." So to spice it up, I threw in some images with captions as well as a pair of images to visualize a specific part I mention in the conclusion.
I'm not quite sure how much design is enough or too much.
Should I use more color? If so, where and how? How much color is too much?
Other than pictures, what graphics did you incorporate into your project?
For the bottom right picture, does anyone know how to make the text in a text box not sit at the bottom? The VS looks so silly down there.

-The information reads like it will go well with a graphic
-Maybe you could talk about how the content being catered towards Millersville students and the interactions with the posts lets the audience identify with other members of the audience as part of a group. (seeing as they are all similar and interacting with the same posts/account)
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/6b5e290abc8de55f7857fe35af6e462f/07a824817da32965-29/s540x810/4444dd726725d120a4c31198d2c5199699e962a6.jpg)
This part sort of goes with the image I put in my other peer review post. It explains the image I have but I want to change it into a graphic. Does it seem like it explains that information well enough?

-You answered all 3 of the points in your conclusion
-maybe give a few words or one sentence call back to how the data suggested those 2 photos were different, like mentioning the numerical difference in likes/views/comments. OR putting those numbers with the pictures
Help! Do I answer the prompts?
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/6da92bfb2c82cee5ed009a48b014ce7e/f8fc970226b8d5f3-9c/s540x810/ca1bb31b2261e65defb20e1794e12833e4c2e5f0.jpg)
This is the conclusion of my essay for part 2. Based on the directions saying the paper should be 2 parts--so what? and why does it matter?--I've decided to make the conclusion the latter. There was a lot to take in with this assignment, but here are the points I tried to touch upon:
why does YOUR conclusion matter?
What does it add to ongoing conversations about web writing?
What does it show about how data informs web writing? Use these ideas to explain the purpose of your main argument (the so what question).
What I am specifically wondering is
Did I give adequate response to each of these 3?
Did I give any one prompt too much / too little attention?
Is there anything I am missing from the assignment description?

Organization: Data Analysis Project
Formatting and Organization
The main points of my essay are about analyzing the purpose, audience, and information architecture data.
-I am currently organizing the essay points by introducing the focus in one paragraph and giving examples from the data in another
Ex: the purpose of this account is to...
Then the next paragraph: here is how the purpose is shown
-Does this style of organization make sense? Would it be better if I integrated the focus and data or would that confuse the reader?

Thesis: Data Analysis Project
Statements
"Data from social media can show the way Creators respond to their audience with the content they create to better suit both their and the audience’s using purpose, information architecture, and audience."
-I am trying to form a thesis that connects my data to a bigger picture.
-I will be exploring the creators purpose, use of information architecture, and approach to the audience using the data.
Questions:
-Does this approach to the thesis answer the question of "how data influences how we make content"?
-Is the statement too broad?
-Is the wording confusing?
