Hi, fellow bird fan!
I saw your account, and I decided I could tell you a fun fact i like recounting.
Cormorants know how to protest!
In ancient times, fishermen would tie a loose around the bird's neck to stop them from swallowing a catch. Then, the duo would swim out to sea, and the cormorant would snag fish, while the fisherman would collect the catches in a bucket.
But wait, that's not all!
These seabirds can count to five, and if they're not allowed to eat every fifth catch, they'll purposely thrash, fly, and flail until their snare is released, and they're allowed to eat the fish whole! Some truly spiteful individuals would fly away from the boat, ending their lives via starving just to send a message to the greedy fishermen!
