7.11.2023 Final chapter of course
It's been quite an amusing journey, although I find myself in need of a retake.
This course managed to keep me awake during lectures, which is quite an achievement considering the typical boredom and perceived uselessness of many lectures. Kudos to our professor for making it engaging.
I chose a project that turned out to be quite interesting, and I believe I did a commendable job. I'm satisfied with what I was able to achieve and learn throughout the duration of the course.
I also want to share a few thoughts about Tumblr. Despite its simplicity, the platform excels in being user-friendly and comfortable to navigate.
Lastly, a big thank you to Professor Ainur for making this course so captivating.

3.11.2023 Audience engagement
During our recent discussions, we delved into the various reasons and forms of audience engagement. These motivations largely revolve around building trust and credibility, broadening reach, tailoring content to audience preferences, boosting revenue, and staying abreast of the latest technologies adopted by our audience.
In practical terms, audience engagement manifests in different forms, including passive engagement, active engagement, collaborative engagement, crowdsourcing, and user-generated content.
In the realm of multimedia journalism, several strategies facilitate audience engagement. These include customization based on audience preferences, the use of polls and Q&A sessions, encouraging comments, conducting surveys, and other interactive approaches.

10.10.2023 Law in Journalism
In the course of studying journalism, one recurring subject is understanding the functioning of journalism. For aspiring journalists, it is crucial to familiarize themselves with the laws governing the press and media in the country where they intend to work. Actually, I dont like that type of lectures((
Responsibility and Oversight: Freedom of the press ensures that the government and institutions are held responsible for their actions and decisions.
Wide-ranging Information Dissemination: It guarantees that citizens can access a variety of accurate information.
Facilitating Dialogue: The freedom of the press encourages public discourse, fostering a well-informed citizenry.
Defending Human Rights: It has the potential to bring instances of human rights violations to light, pressuring for justice.
Defamation: Defamation refers to the making of false statements, whether written (libel) or spoken (slander), about an individual, organization, or entity, resulting in harm to their reputation.
Privacy Concerns: Privacy, considered a fundamental human right, shields individuals from intrusions into their personal lives, covering physical and informational aspects. Privacy laws, though varying, generally aim to protect against unwarranted intrusions and the misuse of personal data. Journalists need awareness of these laws for responsible reporting.
Copyright Protection: Copyright protection is automatic upon the creation of an original work, typically lasting for the life of the creator plus 70 years. Registration or the use of the copyright symbol (©) is not mandatory for protection.
Note: The mention of using Mickey Mouse is a humorous exaggeration, as Disney maintains strict control over its intellectual property.
Fair Use: Fair use is a legal principle allowing limited use of copyrighted material without seeking permission. This includes purposes such as criticism, commentary, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, or research.
Kinda, a lot of info, thats why it difficult to understand and remember everything, but lecture was cool>>

30.09.23 Fonts selection in Design
As previously said, our lecture focused on the significance of font selection in design, particularly when it comes to assignments. Although it was not a long presentation, it emphasized the importance of typefaces in building visually appealing and effective projects.
During the lecture, I spent a substantial amount of time refining my font choices and making changes to my website. While it may have appeared that I was obsessed with this element, I was committed to make every detail flawless. The session's main goal was to get feedback on our interactive tale assignments. As a bit of a perfectionist, I had previously planned my. I expected constructive critique, particularly about my font selections. Instead of getting discouraged, I saw the critique as a chance to develop. I immediately began working on improving my work, thinking that my efforts would result in a more polished and effective end product. Making errors and learning from them is, after all, a normal part of the learning process, and I am devoted to improving my talents, even if it means making modifications along the road.
Actually, it was kinda boring week, without any interesting info. Also, I feel bad, cause I have some mental problems and I hope It wont influence to my job and lessons.

20.09.23 Visual Storytelling + TedX
During a media journalism practice session, the emphasis was on the power of visual storytelling and its tremendous influence on the emotional involvement of the audience. The talk emphasized the importance of images in pulling the audience in and retaining their interest and emotional engagement in the tale.
One of the session's highlights was a TedX talk by a photojournalist who told a moving narrative. The story revolves around a woman who became estranged from her relatives owing to political tensions between India and Pakistan. The reporter chronicled her 3000-kilometer journey as she reconnected with her family when they contacted her after seeing her tale and image in the media. This touching narrative caught the spirit of human resiliency as well as the power of visual storytelling.
What struck me the most was how wonderful it was that this woman's tale reached a wider audience through reliable and popular media sites, enhancing its effect even more. The TedX lecture (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7nN6-jQaJV8) highlighted the emotional depth of the tale as well as the function of visual storytelling in evoking empathy and comprehension.
Also I did a webpage for Assignment 3. I spent a large amount of time and effort developing a website for my visual storytelling project, even though I recognize that it may not meet the criteria established by prominent platforms such as The New York Times. Nonetheless, I find refuge in the pleasure I get from its beauty and functionality. Despite the stress and lack of sleep, I find satisfaction in my job, recognizing the influence of visual storytelling even in the face of personal emotions and obstacles. It's evident that it's not done yet, and I'd like to finish the job, but it'll take a long time until I figure out this constructor.

Interactive Storytelling
I attended a seminar on interactive storytelling and its enormous influence on journalism. This novel method enables journalists to create more engaging storylines that connect with their audience. The power of visual storytelling was demonstrated in numerous spectacular cases in journalism, where interactive aspects played a critical role.
"Snow Fall - The Avalanche at Tunnel Creek," a multimedia feature item that appeared in The New York Times in 2012, is one such example. The author, John Branch, used interviews, audio clips, gifs, and numerous interactive elements on the article's website to entangle the reader in a web of interaction in this exceptional work. I must admit that this piece has left an impression on me.
This piece has made an indelible effect on me, as I've found myself returning to it over and again. It's a testimonial to Snow Fall's remarkable quality.
Another notable initiative is "The Counted: People Killed by Police in the United States," which is a comprehensive database that documents all documented occurrences in which individuals were shot by police personnel. The website provides detailed information regarding each fatal police shooting, such as the victims' identities, demographics, incident locations, and whether or not they were armed.
To summarize, while interactive storytelling creates problems in implementation, the benefits it provides, such as enhanced audience involvement and tangible relevance, make it a worthwhile attempt. Many great multimedia projects have evolved, demonstrating the potential and power of this narrative style in the field of journalism.

06.09.2023 Multimedia journalism Practice
Our first lecture has focused mostly on ethical challenges in journalism and how future content creators can approach their profession with an ethical commitment.
Subjects discussed in the lecture: 1) What the impact of work ethics is on journalists and the society that reads journalism 2) popular examples of journalistic ethical violations - In the Janet Cooke case, a journalist made up information about an African youngster who was addicted to heroin. (had her Pulitzer prize taken away as a result, harming the credibility of all journalists) - The Rolling Stones case included a writer who, without carefully verifying the source, published an article alleging gang raping a female at a university fraternity home. (damage to the Washington Post's reputation led to a lawsuit being filed against them)
Discussion of the mentioned instances of journalistic ethical violations as practice Look for a news story or report that contains some sensationalism and evaluate it morally.
Overall: Very informative lecture, despite the fact that I didn't take part in the discussion much. P.S. Sorry, Miss Ainur, I was at work and couldn't answer a lot. I hope my blog was interesting for someone, but, otherwise, I'm doint it only because of course))).
