Yo, Luka! What's up? I was just wondering what do you think of MCU Howard Stark as opposed to comic!Howard? Also, what do you think about Arno Stark and Tony is not actually Howard's biological son anymore?

I am so glad that someone asked this question!

First, regarding Tony not being Howard’s biological son, I think that’s pure nonsense and I like to pretend that it isn’t canon for my own sanity. So far, that’s going well for me. 

As for my opinion on Howard Stark…

616!Howard was an emotionally and physically abusive drunkard who terrorized his wife and child so regularly that the staff knew to expect an outburst at the dinner table. There’s no ambiguity here; we explicitly see evidence of this on panel. Tony himself explains how that trauma led to many of his current issues, such as his own alcoholism, his tendency to retreat into the armor because it’s made of iron (metaphorically), his low self-worth, and his difficulty forming connections with others. Even after this flashback, Howard shows up as a hallucination on occasion, either as an obstacle for Tony to push through or as someone who tells him just how much of a failure he is, yet Tony still makes excuses for him. Howard literally serves as nightmare fuel for his own son.

MCU!Howard is a bit more complicated, but still abusive and neglectful by my canon. It’s heavily implied in the movies, and explicitly shown in the tie-in comics.

How come Tony Stark gets to fight villains naked all the time in the comics but not in the movies? I am being denied my rights!

people say “if you don’t lower your standards, you’re gonna end up spending your whole life alone!” like being a healthy, happy, financially independent single adult is actually worse than being stuck in an abusive and/or emotionally unfulfilling relationship with someone who isn’t willing/able to meet your needs. like no offense, but I think I’m gonna choose to be happy rather than throwing myself into a relationship just for the sake of being in a relationship.
