Daily reminder that before debuting as an idol Jimin attended Busan High School of Arts and he was accepted at the top of his class (with both his dancing and his grades), he was doing really good, so good that he could’ve been accepted in Korea National University of Arts if he didn’t choose to debut as an idol, he was so good that if he didn’t get accepted to Korea National University of Arts his school would’ve sent him abroad, that’s how talented he was and still is, he was so good that when Jimin decided to leave to become a trainee his teachers were beginning him not to do it and were disappointed when he decided to leave, daily reminder that he left to so much behind to chase his dreams, daily reminder that he got denied by so many companies, daily reminder that he himself said he nearly got kicked out so many times by the one company that picked him, daily reminder that he had to do work hard to get to stay and debut with the rest of bts, had to actually learn a whole new dance style to get to debut with the rest, daily reminder that even today Jimin keeps working hard and putting so much time and so much effort into getting better at his dancing, daily reminder that he considers his dancing nowhere close to how amazing we see it, daily reminder that he’s always looking with a critical eye at everything he’s doing and always tries to practice at whatever he thinks he’s lacking in, daily reminder to praise Park Jimin and his dancing for he is so talented and he is so skilled and so many people look up to him for his dancing
I keep seeing comments about how idols don’t have the right to complain or feel sad because they’re “celebrities” who are “rich”. Honestly, that makes me really mad. Idols are humans too. They have their own thoughts, emotions, and feelings. They’re not perfect, just like us, and that’s okay. I understand that some people may not like some idols for certain reasons. However, that does NOT give you the right to be leaving hateful/hurtful comments on their social media accounts or music videos.
The idea that mental illnesses are not real needs to stop. Mental health issue is very much a real and serious issue. Idols have their own problems and struggles that we fans will never know about unless we become idols ourselves. You can’t just go around telling them how to feel or what to do because you have this particular view of them. They’re always under constant pressure to be “perfect” and that’s already hard enough on them. They do NOT need any hateful/hurtful comments to read. For all you know, those words could be the last straw.
Ever since the devastating news about Jonghyun was announced, I keep seeing those terrible comments about him and other idols. That’s why I decided to make this post talking about just a few idols who talk about these issues. Isn’t one death enough for you all?? How many deaths does there need to be until you realize that this is a serious issue that needs to be handled delicately? Why do you have to continue to criticize idols and tell them to go die just because they’re not doing/didn’t do something exactly the way you want them to? Why do you make their mental health issues invalid simply just because they’re celebrities? Remember that these idols are human beings too. Think before you post, comment, or say anything. Once you say it, it cannot be taken back. Don’t say something that you’ll regret later on. This goes for any mental health issues regarding a human being, idol or not.
As a singer and musician who has a masters degree, I was shocked by this! I don’t think that many of you fully grasp what V was talking about with the chickens at the end of the the Run Ep. 29-Behind the Scenes.
He’s speaking about where on the piano… what NOTE the chickens are hitting when they cry! Just by listening, he’s guessing what notes their hitting.
AND HE GETS IT RIGHT!
He’s talking about solfege… like in the song from Sound of Music: Do Re Mi Fa Sol La Ti Do, singing a scale. Middle C on the piano is C4, the fourth octave. So when he says the 6th Octave, that means 2 Octaves above the fourth which would be High C. If he’s starting on C being Do… then 6th Octave Mi would be a high E… WHICH WHEN I CHECKED IS ACTUALLY WHAT SOME OF THE HIGHER NOTES WERE THAT THE CHICKENS WERE CRYING! Fifth Octave Sol would be a G sitting at the top of the staff in Trebel Clef (if going by this same thinking) and is only slightly lower than some of the lower pitches the chickens were crying.
Do you realize how good of an ear you have to have to guess that!? Do you know that there are college music students who can’t figure out what the pitch is just by listening? DO YOUR REALIZE HOW FRICKIN SMART THIS BOY IT!?!?!?! TO BE GUESSING THE NOTES THE CHICKENS ARE SINGING!??!!
i’m honestly just so happy for jimin. he’s had issues in the past in terms of confidence with his own voice, so to see him do the comeback trailer and having all of that pressure on himself, and then taking it and making something so great and well-received makes me so ecstatic for him ;;
Everyone is upset about the name change, and I completely understand and emphasize. I am also sad and nostalgic, having been a fan for years.
But guys, don’t forget that 방탄소년단 Bangtan Boyscouts is a name that Bang PD/BigHit Entertainment came up with. It wasn’t a name decided by the members at all. Just like Suga became Agust D, and Rapmonster became RM, BTS is changing and adapting.
Unlike most companies in kpop, BTS has an incredible amount of leeway and say in their creative decisions. The members have always expressed their embarrassment with their official group name. And this new name change– though it’s jarring for all of us, it’s what they want.
For the first time, they’re calling the shots as much as their company, designing concepts that suit them, writing lyrics, composing music, etc. And no matter how much I miss their old name, I think this is incredible.
We are slowly beginning to see the boys as who they actually are, beyond the concepts that their company has imposed upon them. And we should be so thankful for this. We don’t love the fictional images BigHit has created for the boys, we love the boys themselves. And this feels like we’re one step closer to understanding them more fully. We’re meeting them halfway.
It’s normal to feel sad after such a drastic change. But I hope you’ll all feel happy with time :)
