actually u know what since a lot of people are calling the hordak hive mind an allegory for "religious extremism" I'm gonna stop you right there

the hive is not an example of religious extremism, it's specifically an example of christian cults. noelle stevenson is an ex evangelical, and as someone who is ALSO ex cult, generalizing the allegory of the horde to religious extremism downplays the significance of so many moments in season five, not to mention equates islam and judaism with Christian cults, which is wholly inaccurate.

the chanting of the horde in the cleansing scene, wrong hordak freaking out when he realizes he's been disconnected, entrapta being patient with wrong hordak and eventually helping him realize that he was essentially in an abusive situation are all specifically christian cult experiences. and as someone who literally grew up in a cult, it's chilling and all too realistic to see.

stop comparing the horde to some generalized "extremist religion" and start acknowledging that it's specifically based off christian cults and the ex-cult experience
