I’ve watched Gorky Park four times in the past two days and decided to draw my favorite Character (Arkady Renko)

It’s not the best, but it’s a quick sketch in which I tried to experiment with new styles and stuff!

GORKY PARK a été réalisé en 1983 par Michael Apted sur un scénario de Dennis Potter d'après le roman de Martin Cruz Smith.

C'est donc un film de guerre froide tourné, pour cela, en Finlande, avec une majorité d'acteurs britanniques et, surtout, trois prodiges dans leur genre : le vétéran Lee Marvin (qui ensuite ne tourna que deux films, dont CANICULE), le très beau William Hurt et l'extraordinairement belle jeune actrice polonaise Joanna Pacula.

On y retrouve aussi Rikki Fulton en agent du KGB, Ian Bannen (oui, celui de THE OFFENCE !) en procureur corrompu, Ian McDarmid (seize ans avant qu'il ne soit Palpatine) en professeur précurseur de Bones et le génial Brian Dennehy.

Le film est réalisé par le britannique Michael Apted, avec beaucoup d'élégance (mention spéciale à la photographie de Ralf D. Bode) et d'efficacité ; c'est lui qui fera THUNDERHEART en 1992.
