Week 1 Blog Entry
The first week of student internship was mostly expectation-setting through various orientations with our adviser, Sir Antonio Salazar and with the partner agency, the Department of the Interior and Local Government Region 6.
During the orientation with DILG, we were assigned to different departments namely: (1) Capacity Development/Research Innovation & Policy Development  Facility/Program for NEO Local Government Capability Development Division, (2) Public Education and Citizenship Building Facility Local Government Monitoring and Evaluation Division, (3) Strategy and Results Management Unit, and (4) Legal Unit.
I was assigned to the SRMU which according to our mentor, was a special unit since it is only available to the Region 6 – DILG. I find SRMU as an interesting division and although we weren’t able to discuss deeper on the role of our division and the deliverables we need to comply with – I am genuinely looking forward to working with our mentors and peers under this division. I am excited to learn more about the work we need to do and to be able to contribute meaningfully to the organization.
