#idk most people in academia are#writing to get into journals#and journals want specific things and are written for people who know and understand the jargon#like for my thesis it will have to be tweaked to fit into the journal i want it to get published in#likewise if you were writing to a non-academic audience#it would be written in easier digestible sentences#so like I don't really think it's bad writing#it's that its just not what you're used to
