i love truck stops in winter bc i love a little good old fashioned reconnaissance. i’m at a wyoming truck stop eating taco bell with a bunch of random truckers discussing road conditions like we’re in a high fantasy tavern & inn and we’re warning each other about monsters and highway men. everyone talking about where we’re coming from and going to and how bad it’ll be getting there.

THE tallest man i’ve ever seen in real life just stopped me in the hallway by the coin operated laundry apropos of nothing and asked “which direction are you going?” i said east and he said ��good” and walked away.

i caught up with him and asked why and he said “west’s no good right now. i just came from there.”

apparently a truck jackknifed and has traffic backed up ten miles but he sounded for all the world like he just found his village raised to the ground by an evil mage’s army

it's so funny to think of kafka meeting her (future) in-laws. she prob already pretty close with them cuz of being childhood friends with r. maybe r cuz of the immense guilt they face after meeting kafka tries to not show up in the shop for a while. and kafka decides to just show up at the one place r can't run away from.

like r just walks in home and sees her on the couch talking to r's mom.

this is hilarious because r’s mom loves kafka like thats her daughter in law fr. they talk on the phone sometimes and she insists on k being there for family dinners, my girl’s family atp. she learned r was in touch with k after so long and ordered them to invite her over one evening despite them not being together at the time, which led to the biggest plot point of their relationship… she’s lowkey their biggest shipper. kafka’s great with the aunties too i just know older people love her cause she’s very charming and has good manners, she knows how to flatter too hehe

k showing up at r’s mom’s house is insane likegjhgff the desperation… they’d be livid. but i truly love the idea of k getting a whole family through r, she has self care days with their sibling and lets herself be fussed over by their mom aaaaaaaaa my family

hii do you have any tips on how to start meal prepping?? i wish i did it but i just cannot think of stuff to eat/make/ i just dont really know how to get started

Thank you!! Meal prepping saves so much money it's insane, I always recommend it to friends that struggle with cash.

I swear up and down by Nagi, her recipes are always realistic and without frills while being extremely delicious. Plus her site is super organized so you can look by your dietary needs or the protein you have available/on sale!

I have a question for the Kafka violinist au 🙋‍♀️ does she like reader because of their music or does she only like their music bc of reader?? I hope this makes sense!!!

SOME VIOLINIST AU LORE OK there’s a small summary here but basically kafka and r met each other through music, their instructors knew each other and put them together after realizing their respective potential. they were 8 at the time… so they grew together as their music grew as well, the two are deeply tangled up, they share the same roots. they had ambitions about becoming the best in their field and that’s still what drives kafka in the present time, but r actually mainly just liked playing with her. their synergy is practiced and eventually seamless, and they push each other to be the best. on a musical standpoint, k’s music has always been connected with r, so when they move away at 16 she constantly feels like there’s something missing to her playing. she still becomes great and known in the classical music world, but she goes through a lot of pianist accompaniments looking for that missing key and never finds it. in her mind, she can’t be fully realized as a violinist without r. in r’s mind, kafka has always been great. she spends a decade perfecting her craft and is still unsatisfied, it gnaws at her and irritates her, more so the fact that she can never fully erase r from her mind even after so many years. she exteriorizes those resurfacing feelings through her work and those prowesses are part of what makes her a successful musician, so in a way, r has contributed to every aspect of her life. childhood, teenage years and the weight of their absence that still affects her into adulthood.

to actually answer your question (lol), kafka just likes r. the music is how they met but they were more than student violinist and pianist, they were inseparable for a lot of their formative years. music means different things for the both of them and it took kafka a long time to understand that (which is not really her fault tbf, there were some things r never shared with her). she loves their music because it’s great. r has potential that rivals hers, they just don’t care for the spotlight like she does. she loves their music because it’s them making it too. r makes music that reflects who they are, what they like, how they feel— kafka loves their music because it’s them.

they’re both sickening and i can’t stop thinking about them but i hope that made sense, all i do is yap about them these days

More meal prep! I have lost 20lbs since the beginning of the year and feel very proud of my progress! I feel a lot healthier and have been able to exercise more without fatigue...and a lot less lethargic over all!
