lucerys is always told he’s beautiful. that’s his power—and curse at the same time.

luke decides to maim himself to avoid marriage with aemond. he would finally be free of the debt and aemond’s unhealthy obsession. one-eyed omega is not a suitable match for the alpha prince, luke thinks.

it doesn’t stop aemond. in fact, his obsession grows even more. he did not protect this foolish omega, and now it is his duty to care for lucerys as his husband and mate till the death. and everyone knows aemond as a dutiful and honourable man.

there’s something about lucerys who can’t stand violence and fights and blood after hurting aemond but doesn’t hesitate to take a dagger in his hands to protect aemond and their children if they’re in danger.

luke and aemond often read under the tree. it is their tradition—sitting silently together, reading, their shoulders touching. after the accident at driftmark, luke waits for aemond to come, but his uncle never shows up.

“he didn’t come again, did he?” aegon silently approaches him. luke nods, sobbing and clenching pages of aemond’s favourite book. “let’s come inside. your mother will kill me if you catch a cold.”

“does he hate me now? i apologised to him many times. i tried to talk to him, but he ignores me. i gave him a wooden dragon toy ser harwin made for me, and he broke it.” lucerys looks at his uncle with pouted lips, walking through the red keep’s corridors.

“is it because i am… a bastard? well then i should stop being a bastard. how to stop being a bastard, uncle?” lucerys looks at aegon with desperate sincerity in the gaze, and that makes aegon’s not so cold heart shrink. he promises to talk to aemond. lucerys hugs him and runs to his mother’s quarters, forgetting about his question.

lucerys still gets ill. for a few weeks, he is not allowed to leave his quarters. luke’s afraid that aemond would come to their place when he’s not around, and he can’t let it happen, so he tries to run away, but is quickly returned back by daemon. when maester confirms he’s healthy, he grabs a book and runs to the tree as fast as he can only to find no one here. then he hears footsteps from behind—aegon pushes aemond in the back and whispers something to him furiously.

“give him that bloody dragon, now!” aegon screams in a whisper, what makes aemond blush and luke giggle. “act like a good boy. or else rhaenyra will hear about your attitude!”

“betrayer,” aemond whispers back to his brother and looks at luke, nervously. he hands his nephew a wooden dragon toy, which he repaired under aegon’s strict supervision. “i am sorry for– for everything. do you want to read together?”

lucerys hugs him tightly and murmurs apologies to uncle’s chest. he looks up and sees aegon, smirking. aemond wraps his arms around luke, and everything feels right.

“it is normal, my prince. you are young and healthy, so is the king. you shall continue trying, and gods will bless you with a son,” a maester tells lucerys. luke doesn’t know if he’s happy or sad to hear that he’s still not with a child. but it means that omega will lay with aemond, again and again, until a miracle happens.

he thinks that maester will tell the king about this, too, and he won’t be pleased with the news. they don’t have time. they are young, yes, but what does youth mean when a fragile peace can be broken if the king has no heir? aemond asked him of only two things—heirs and loyalty. luke has a duty now.

someone sends him strange letters in which anonymous hints at upcoming overthrow of the king and asks of his help. omega reads them and then burns immediately. he is no fool—he knows aemond doesn’t trust him, and all of omega’s servants and guards spy on him. lucerys tries to act as a perfect alpha’s husband, he’s obedient, modest and untouchable targaryen prince in the eyes of the court.

a few moons later, letters continue to come, and many things are changed. when he and aemond dine together, luke decides it’s time to reveal the news. the king isn’t surprised, and only asks why lucerys warns him about the overthrow.

“they want to start a war. and i am here because you do not want it to happen, your grace,” lucerys receives an unreadable glance from his uncle. “besides, we should be more careful now. maester confirmed my pregnancy,” he says nervously, feeling his heart beating in the throat. aemond exhales sharply and puts a wineglass aside. alpha leans towards him, touching his hand, and lucerys notices a small smile on his face.

“it is delightful news, husband,” the king says, and then tightens grip on his wrist. lucerys panics and looks at aemond. “this time i will believe you. but if i find out again that you are involved in something that undermines my faith in your loyalty, you will face consequences.”

with the next letter lucerys receives, traitors are caught. all of them are from noble houses, and the king executes them in public as a warning to others. luke sits in his chambers, stroking a barely noticeable belly, and tries not to think that it is him who killed these people. “it is for your safety, baby. they would take you away from me, and i could not let it happen. i have only you,” lucerys whispers, trying to calm down.

king made by fire & blood. part 2.

a marriage feast seems like dancing on bones and ashes to lucerys. he feels so tired—it is a constant feeling now. omega often wakes up from nightmares, in which his family dies in flames, screaming and crying. he remembers watching his mother burning in dragonfire. it makes a hole in luke’s heart grow bigger with every breath.

they came to an agreement with aemond. two sons and a wedding in the great sept, because valyrian wedding should be done out of love, luke said to the king. lucerys prefers not to think what his life will become if he gives birth to a girl. he prefers not to think about bedding, too. he would lay, unmoved, and hope aemond would not hurt him too much.

the king also allowed him to choose the wedding clothes himself, and lucerys chose a bright red fabric for his dress and cloak. he is a targaryen after all, a prince consort, and he should prove it to the court with every move and word, from now on.

aemond is kind to him in some way—if indifference can be called so. they rarely talk, only during dinners and official meetings. lucerys once saw the king sitting on the throne and stormed out from the hall, feeling bitterness. luke’ve thought he was ready to see the alpha sitting on his mother’s throne—he was wrong. later, his uncle only told him to “get used to it”. at least, he didn’t punish omega for showing disrespect but he could.

lucerys observes a hall, and there are members of every noble house uncluding those who bend the knee to his mother. lords and ladies drink, laugh, and celebrate a union that ended the war. there’re baela and rhaena, too. the war made them all strangers to each other. baela ignores lucerys after a conversation they had a few days ago. she told omega he disgraces the memory of their family and called him a betrayer. luke asked her, “is it a betrayal to want to live in peace, sister?”. rhaena found him in tears and calmed him as she always did.

lucerys looks at his uncle—husband, and sees no emotions on his face. aemond behaves as he was born to be a king, restrained and powerful. luke is nothing like alpha, he’s an anxious week young man who took someone else’s place. omega still thinks about it, when he and aemond are alone in the royal chambers, and aemond undresses him. lucerys shouldn’t be here—he should be at the dragonstone, in his mother’s arms, with brothers, sisters, laenor, and daemon alongside.

“do not fear me. i will not hurt you, lucerys,” (‘you already did’) omega tries to do as he’s told, closing his eyes and dreaming about future he will never have. memories of his family is the only thing left for omega. lucerys hopes he will be with a child, soon. maybe then he will feel anything beside tiredness and loneliness.

yeah, jace despises aemond, everyone knows it. at least, he doesn’t hide his true emotions and thoughts on lucemond being together.

and then there is joffrey. he makes aemond’s life a living hell. his family is convinced that aemond overreacts, because joffrey is an angel just like luke – sweet and kind boy, perfect son and brother.

well, aemond wouldn’t agree. joffrey is totally not an angel (also luke is not innocent, too, he knows it for sure). joffrey says “i love you, uncle”, smiling sweely, and kicks him in the knees. he asks aemond to fight on swords and uses dirty tricks in the training yard. he offers to fly together and irritates vhagar with his dog-sized-dragon. joffrey stains his clothes with gods know what and salts food in his plate while no one is looking (it's a dessert!).

worst of all, joffrey teaches little aegon and viserys to play pranks on aemond. these kids are going to be a death of him.

aemond has no mercy on his half-sister.

aemond tried to be the best version of himself, so that rhaenyra would allow him to marry lucerys. he was patient and forgiving. he talked with the other half of the family on dinners, participated in tournaments he hated and dedicated victories to his nephew. he courted luke properly, while burning with unbearable desire to possess.

but rhaenyra, still, refused to betroth them. “you will never be worthy of the hand of my son”, she said.

with this marriage, aemond could help his half-sister. he could strengthen her claim to the throne, even though she didn’t deserve it. but instead, rhaenyra choose arrogance and weakness. and now, mother wants to put aegon on the throne, and aemond will do everything to become a king himself.

lucerys belongs to aemond, that is the truth. if rhaenyra doesn’t want luke to wed him, then he will not ask, but will take what is rightfully his, with fire and blood.

but what about jace’s kids?🤭 i swear aemond is impossible when it comes to his babies. he is super protective father, always trying to make them stay away from aegon’s and jace’s children.

and of course some of their kids fall in love with other, much to aemond’s displease (aegon laughs maniacally somewhere in the background).

If/when lucemond have kids, Aemond would do his utmost to keep them away from Jaehaerys, Jaehaera, and Maelor because as much as he loves Helaena, Aemond refuses to have his children fall in love with/marry any spawn of Aegon

only a few days after a childbirth, lucerys introduces his son to the king. viserys takes a newborn in his arms, cooing over his first great-grandson.

“oh, sweet boy! babe looks a lot like you. yet he has got hair from rhaenyra, his grandmother. valyrian blood is indeed strong,” he says fondly.

rhaenyra smiles nervously, and alicent is tense. luke takes his son back with trembling arms. his dark-haired husband stands across the room, uninterested — he already saw their boy many times.

“of course, it is,” daemon snorts, rolling his eyes.

lucerys notices aemond standing in a corner, smirking and staring at him. he lowers his gaze as blush spreads all over his face.

“congratulations, nephew,” he hears, and suddenly aemond is next to him. his uncle strokes the child’s cheek (as if he didn’t do it in recent days), and then his hand, unnoticed by others, slides along luke’s elbow. lucerys sees how aemond’s gaze softens and smiles.

viserys would also cheer up both luke and aemond in secret, tell them how to make first steps, make them ‘suddenly’ meet each other in the red keep, and lock in rooms etc.

and then on family dinners he would act like didn’t know anything and didn’t make it up himself.

“what?! aemond, it’s inappropriate to behave like that with your betrothed, you can’t be alone together when there is no one in the room! lucerys, gods, could you just wait a little bit for the wedding? you are princes! i am very disappointed in you, boys. go to your quarters, now.” *dramatic sigh*

lucerys is a picture of aemma brought to life.

ever since the king first took grandson in his arms, lucerys has been his favorite. little luke looks a lot like rhaenyra, but as he grows older, he takes more after aemma – in soft features, bright eyes, and kindness.

viserys affectionately calls lucerys the second realm’s delight.

aemond, despite his dislike for father, unconditionally agrees with him. he will make sure luke will be his. you see, there is a tradition in their family. realm’s delight belongs to a second son. and who is aemond to dishonour traditions of their great house?
