the thing about han sooyoung is she actually likes kim dokja so much its embarrassing. hes like her favourite guy. she stays up late writing just so he can have something to read in the morning. she gives him her candy when he's feeling upset because she hates seeing him sad. he walks into a room and she has to catch herself to make sure she doesnt start smiling too obviously. and all of this is of course perfectly normal behaviour between two people who are close but han sooyoung is soooo embarrassed of it. shes like yeah he's my favourite guy on earth. he's ugly and lame and has shit taste in novels and we havent even spent that much time together but i miss him when he's not in the room. tch. WHATEVER. if anyone references my feelings for him im gonna start killing the hostages

The demand for more f/f fic (written by people who aren't turned on by it) has been going on online for decades. In the LiveJournal days, writing and reading f/f was called "eating your vegetables." You weren't supposed to like it, but it was morally suspect if you didn't do it. Like, callout posts would be made for fic writers who had never written f/f.

Obviously, this strategy worked very well to encourage f/f fics, and everyone was happy forever.

Tfw you are a small, ephemeral being who finds a purpose in living through your deep love for someone you wish to protect, but you are forced to watch your beloved get tormented and die violently via stabbing because you are a weak, useless creature that cannot protect anything…

Or is this too specific of a trope???
