I'm so bad at writing summaries. Any advice on how to do better?
Focus in on the main plot of your fic. Describe that plot in 1-2 sentences. You can do this in a few ways.
1. action/adventure plot
Which character(s) is the lead for the main action/adventure plot?
What are they trying to accomplish?
What action are the taking to accomplish it?
Example (basic plot summary of Infinity War): In order to save humanity, the Avengers need to prevent Thanos from collecting all of the Infinity Stones. If they fail, he will destroy half of the living things in the universe.
2. romance/relationship plot
Which characters are the romantic leads for the main romantic plot?
What is their relationship at the start of the story?
How does their relationship change?
Example (basic plot summary of When Harry Met Sally): Harry and Sally are strangers who hate each other. As they get to know each other over time, they become best friends - and maybe more.
3. dramatic plot
Which character(s) is the lead for the main dramatic plot?
What choice, conflict or event changes their life?
How does that choice/conflict/event change their life?
Example (basic plot summary of Castaway): Chuck Noland is in a plane crash in the middle of the ocean. He survives the crash only to be stranded on a deserted island. All alone, he needs to learn how to survive in the wild - or die trying.
4. comedic plot
Which character(s) is the lead for the main comedic plot?
What event or conflict are they participating in?
Why are they poorly suited to that event or conflict?
or Why is that event or conflict unusual?
Example (basic plot summary of Liar Liar): Fletcher Reed is a stereotypical dishonest attorney. Then his son makes a birthday wish that he can only tell the truth. How can he do his job if he can’t tell any lies?
Example (basic plot summary of Shaun of the Dead): When you think of the zombie apocalypse, who do you imagine leading the humans in their defense? Probably not a store clerk named Shaun with red pen on his shirt.
In order to keep your summary short, avoid describing sub plots and minor characters. Also, try to avoid revealing the ending. You can hint at it (and it might be obvious based on your genre or tags), but it’s generally considered a good idea to leave it open ended in the summary.

In my heart of hearts I know that Sara was at the test of courage event. She didn’t want to go as herself because she thinks she can’t be seen at dumb events but she really wanted to check it out and she knew the little youkai were planning it. She used her tengu powers to transform into the crow that periodically showed up to squawk forebodingly and mess with Itto.
This is 100% her

I used to do cross country in high school, and there was this guy on the team that was wonderful. Great guy. But his advice to everyone that asked how to get good was to run 20k a day.
If you don't run, I'll just tell you, most people's bodies cannot take that kind of abuse. No matter how much you train, you will not be able to run 20k a day. It's like how you can't train to make your cuts heal faster. You recover as fast as you recover. So while a big part of what made this guy so succesful was the dedication and mental toughness needed to actually run 20k a day, an equally big part was that he healed like fucking Wolverine. And that's fine, but it would've been nice if he knew that and stopped telling new guys to commit suicide by jogging.
Different guy on the team ran like, 5-6k a day, which actually isn't all that much. His problem when he gave advice was that he didn't really get that 5-6k a day doesn't generally produce elite results for most people. He was lucky in the sense that he didn't have to work all that hard to get great results, and unlucky in the sense that if he pushed himself much further than that, he fell apart.
I think about those two whenever I get advice from succesful people. The very things that make them outliers also make their advice useless to most people. Worse, they're often outliers on totally separate ends of the same spectrum, so their advice will be contradictory.

Some Ink stuff from 2016, I have it on tumblr here, but I really like some of these. Recently I properly archived and categorized my drawings archive, well, at least to the best of my ability, there's a part of it from 2016 to 2020 where a lot of art doesn't really have any indicators what year exactly it was.

This is evil genius (complimentary) shit.
Youtuber RTgame put out a video titled "The Minecraft Movie Looks Bad: Is Minecraft Story Mode Worse?" and then used A/B testing to change the thumbnail to say either Yes or No, and just watched the comments tear each other to bits.
