middle child is so elusive. you can be the screws up middle child. the peacemaker middle child. the ignored middle child.
#I was thinking about my coworker and how she’s a self described middle child#But she’s a younger middle child#and it makes so much more sense because of her behavior#miss ‘i need to sit close to you’#But im also a middle child#but I’m more on the dismissive attachment spectrum 😅#so being a middle child - elusive#Also there can only be one oldest and one youngest. Everyone else is a middle child so of course there’s going to be more variety

#Just began this#The oral aspect really works well#I’ve read this tale and it didn’t knock my socks off#And heard it on Myths and Legends but his narration isn’t sincere enough for the tragedy#(His Kullervo from the Kalevala however is excellent)#And thus far I’m really enjoying this storytelling#It engages me a lot! Like a little 90s kid listening to a cassette tape

PARENTING IS NOT ABOUT HEALING YOURSELF. PARENTING IS NOT ABOUT YOU. And parenting sure as hell isn’t showcasing your PERSONAL LIFE with you disciplining children (who CANNOT CONSENT) to STRANGERS on the INTERNET
“i’m such a good parent because i film my parenting techniques in real time and show my children’s faces and voices which they can’t consent to but i’m ‘gentle parenting’ so i have the moral high ground”

friend just told me that he and his siblings used to play a game called "abraham lincoln and the slimy slug" wherein one person is abraham lincoln, with a full range of motion, and one person is a slimy slug inside a sleeping bag
and they would fight. and of course abraham lincoln would just beat the absolute shit out of the slimy slug

saw someone tag a post about the guillotine with ‘say what you want about it, france never had another king’
pop quiz! what did france have after the revolution—perhaps a sort of super-king?
