Milk Of Lime is the project of 2 unknown Belgian and German fashion designers. From the websites about page, "Milk of Lime seeks to give renaissance to hidden treasures and long forgotten references of its closest surroundings, which are in rural Germany and Belgium." Belgium, home to the Antwerp Royal Academy of Fine Arts where revolutionary designers known for their effect on defining a new way of thinking in fashion. Maison Margiela, Raf Simons, Ann Demeulemeester, Dries Van Noten and Marina Yee are all graduates of the prestigious school, trailblazers of a phenomenon in menswear, womenswear and part of a movement in fashion that overthrew the established French couture houses, a time period we now label as "Archive" in online fashion spaces.
"The aim are contemporary garments and objects that are representing actual resources and the Zeitgeist of the region(s) where we design and produce." What I believe Milk Of Lime is trying to achieve, is a contemporary, reinvention of clothing, representing their own experiences, while drawing inspiration from the legends that birthed the genre of archive fashion.

Very glad I came across Kidill, they're a relatively new designer starting out 4 years ago with their debut Autumn/Winter 2019 collection.
Hiroaki Sueyasu aims to invoke a feeling of a dystopian world within the viewers. SS24 shows his mastery of worldbuilding through the use of clothes, its undeniably a bleak world, yet the individuality within each look certainly shows hope is not lost for Kidill citizens.
I believe Sueyasu has drawn inspiration from his contemporaries Raf Simons and Martin Margiela, specifically in the oversized fit that dominated both designers runways in the early 2000's.

Raf Simons Autumn/Winter 2002 "Virginia Creeper". I've long been a fan of Raf's early work as he draws on similar inspiration when it comes to his designs.
We can see in this collection a reference to Martin Margiela's Autumn/Winter 2000 collection with the adoption of oversized outerwear. Lapels take up a quater of the real estate of jackets and trench coats, sweaters hemlines reach to the knees with sleeves extending past that, hoods drape over the eyes obscuring all but the mouth and chin of the models.
Another interesting tid-bit of information is the use of outdoor fabrics like nylon and gore-tex in the construction of garments. These materials were wildly unpopular with designers at the time, and it would take another 20 years for the likes of nylon and gore-tex outdoor wear to become popular in online fashion communities, a trend known as "gorpcore".
The unconventional silhouettes and fabric made for a collection that was far ahead of its time, and is the reason why Virginia Creeper stands as a key runway in Raf's career.

About Archive Inseam
Hello, my name is Jay! I'm an 18 year old student from Perth, Western Australia.
Archive Inseam is a passion project, turned informational web presence centered around archive designer fashion.
The reasons for Archive Inseam are two-fold, the first being practice. Archive Inseam allows me a space to practice content creation and building a community of people with similar interests on different social media platforms. It also gives me an excuse to learn more about my favourite art form!
The second reason for this web presence is to act as a portfolio, to demonstrate my skill and understanding about fashion and graphic design. In the future, I hope Archive Inseam can be used to land a job or contribute to enrolling into a fashion degree.
Archive Inseam isn't constrained to just Tumblr, you can follow me on Instagram, Twitter and YouTube by clicking my linktree below.
Thankyou for dropping by (:
