out of the isles !!   starting at 12:15 tomorrow i’ll officially be done with this semester. i’ve already got the new blog made, i just need to finish the coding and do some editing here and there before transferring everything over. expect this blog to be archived and the new one to be up and running by this weekend!

BELTANE RELATED PLOTS THAT I’D LIKE TO PLAY WITH NOW OR ANY OTHER TIME OF THE YEAR !!

un !!   nimue is tasked with the role of playing the virgin goddess in the rites bc masks are involved and no one previously knows/will know who she is. somehow, somewhere before she and her ‘consort’ part in the morning, they get a good look at each others’ face. this becomes complicated down the road when her king stag turns out to be among those at camelot when she goes on her mission.

deux !!   a plot similar to what happens with morgaine and arthur, where nimue and someone else are /specifically/ chosen to play the roles of the virgin goddess and the horned god bc they carry the blood of the ancients. fate is a bitch and shenanigans ensue.

trois !!   nimue slips away from the castle ( camelot or some other verse idk ) to go watch the rites, even if she can’t allow herself to participate in them. lo and behold someone not affiliated with the Old Religion follows her and finds out her secret.

quatre !!   ( this one could actually work on any holiday where the veils between worlds is thin ) but some modern tourist is loitering around glastonbury and gets a free trip into avalon on a holy day. think something similar to outlander.

…..i could literally go on for days.

Faun – Walpurgisnacht

very basic and generic thoughts about got!nim !! nimue lake is a daughter of house lake, one of the noble houses sworn to the stark family. they control the lands around long lake and their keep has known two names in its time: dolorous gard and joyous gard. they have an ancestral valyrian blade known as excalibur which had been previously gifted to a targaryen warrior and was reclaimed by their family after his death. her father, ‘the good knight ser lancelot’, went mad after being injured during robert’s rebellion and later died in a feverish hermitage, shamed and far from home. her summer born mother, the lady elaine (possibly of house hightower simply bc i have a very dark humor and tbh i totally see her cousin guin being a tyrell), died of loneliness and grief in the chill of the north after jumping from one of the windows of the keep to drown in the lake below. her brother, galahad, would support robb stark during his tenure as lord of house lake like a true northerner and would later go on to die during the battle of winterfell, leaving nimue and her younger sister gwennie as the only remaining members of her family.

nimue has a gift for prophecy and magic, as well as strategem and wit. a priest of r’hllor, known as merlyn, first visited their lands when she was a child and promised to teach her the ways of the one true god if she would promise him her love. for many years he would slip in and out of her life, becoming a central figure in her greatest nightmares and a source of apprehension and distrust to those around them. she staved him off as best as she could, learning everything from him all the while in order to gain the power to best him for once and for all. his body is now buried beneath a weirwood sapling in the depths of the forest.
