i think the worst thing in the world is seeing two characters with something weird as hell going on between them and you think to urself "wow i love the weird as hell thing these characters have going on between them" and you open archiveofourown.org and find out everyone else thinks they would actually be in a very normal romantic relationship

these are normal things to know about each other, like, elias obviously knows because it's his business to Know everything about his archivist, especially smoking which is addiction which is deeply tied to the web's methods of control. and jon was always meeting up with elias in season one to discuss artefacts and statements and the looming threat of prentiss, so he would know when he does his scheduling. and in general, he's probably trying to impress elias, to prove that he's suitable for the position offered to him. anxiously paying attention to any signs of his boss being disappointed with him is something insecure S1 jon sims would do and also he was straight up stalking him (and the others) in season two so that's likely how he knows weirdly specific things about elias's routine. but what do you think daisy and sasha were thinking -> oh my god. they're fucking.

'I came for you,' he said. She repeated the four words in her head. I came for you. If they were meant as a threat, they certainly weren't spoken as one. ( . . . ) 'I came for you,' he murmured so softly that seduction might have been in the air. And so saying, he moved through the passageway and into the light.
And she was almost enchanted. By his voice, by his colours, by the buzz from his body. She fought to resist the rapture, though. There was a monster here, beneath this fetching display; its nest of razors was at her feet, still drenched in blood. Would it hesitate to slit her own throat if it once laid hands on her?
'Be my victim,' he said.
'I won't force it upon you,' he replied, the perfect gentleman. 'I won't oblige you to die. But think; think. If I kill you here - if I unhook you...'
She had been right: this was a seduction.

it’s the way you would tend a calf destined for veal but fr the way early-season elias dotes on jon… fusses over his habits. oh, he’s not smoking again, is he? jon, please, you look like a mummy you need sleep. jon, you’ll need statements while you’re gone, to sustain yourself. how did you know that? that’s remarkable. you’re doing so well. my archivist.

speaking of other momentous things which are for some reason canon but are never brought up again. what's going on with watcher's call. the only time it's mentioned is in 158 when elias guides jon to the panopticon in the centre of the tunnels, which were previously unnavigable to him. and i don't think the ability is called anything in the podcast but the wiki has it listed as such. so, mr magnus can call his archive to him any time? jon archivist whose whole deal is knowing before he does anything to the point of somewhat paralysing his decision making in later seasons once he's dependant on the beholding. because to act he has to know. that jon is going to just follow his call, blindly and without hesitation? like some kind of siren song? "because this is the place i know i should be", 193. sure. whatever. me when im writing two characters in a normal relationship.

I wonder what would have happened, if Jon and Martin had already been at the Institute when the end of the world was brought on. I mean, if Beholding could have had its God immediately near by, just in reach-- Jon and Elias share the domain, so how would it work? Would they both be on chanting the horrors duty? Clearly Jon can get Elias out of the chanting horrors transe.. Could Elias? Would they share? Would they dance and fall together in an eternity of horror in the pupil of the eye? Would Elias only be able to supervise, see through Jon's eyes?
Jon had said only he would be able to kill Elias, in this state -- would anyone be able to kill Jon? What if they brought the camera into the Institute and got both Jon and Elias in its range? (actually hey: that is a fucking BRILLANT idea for a AU. If ever.)
Jon seems to have a degree more of control over the chanting of horrors, being a new-made god and all, which is very sexy of him, but Elias is the second most powerful man here, so i'm just. curious. Of how it would go.
(The cabin was a domain of its own -- so would Martin have a small domain amidst Jon and Elias's domain too? Would the speck of eye and Jon's protection be enough to shield him from loosing himself?)
