B3 VA Update 9/30/20

Hello All! Just wanted to give you a quick update on how things are going on my end! There have been some bumps in the road, as always, but I now have complete recorded dialogue for all but three characters! 

Progress is undoubtedly slow, and I cannot apologize enough for that. Such is the nature of large collaborations. BUT I want to assure you that the project is absolutely still ongoing! While updates are sparse for now, you can always chat with me here or on my personal at cuttlefish3011 if you’re curious what I’m up to.

B3 VA Update

Hello All!

Sorry I’ve been neglecting this blog, but it’s for a good reason! All of the roles for B3 have been cast and I’ve been busy at work reviewing lines, writing up retake notes, and keeping everything organized. I’ve currently got ALL of the lines for Raven, Blitz, the Shadow Queen, Kurr, Theo, Kada, Riley, Servil, and a few assorted extras. We’ve got some fantastic VAs this time around and I can’t wait to share their performances with you! As always, the ask box is open for questions, comments, or conversation!

Arch fans (and/or Arch author), I need your help!

...What the heck is going on in this scene? Maybe I’m just being an idiot here, but one second Tuff is looking directly at Han, then Tuff looks confused, then Han is behind him, and, uh???

Did Han move while Tuff was blinking? Can he move that quickly and quietly? That’s the best explanation I’ve got for now, but I’d be happy to be corrected.

Book 3 Casting Call Open!

Hello All,

I’m happy to announce that the casting call for Book 3 is now live! 

We’re getting a lot of interest (89 auditions as of this writing!), probably because I set aside some money to actually pay our VAs a decent amount. Often, voice actors and other creative individuals are exploited for their labor, and I don’t ever want to be “that guy” who uses their passion against them. 

If you are anyone you know is interested in auditioning, feel free to check out the casting call and submit an audition! You will need an account, but signing up is free.

I’m looking forward to going through these auditions and making Book 3 sound as amazing as possible for you guys!

Progress, PhDs, and Viral Outbreaks

Hello All! 

First of all, I apologize for my long absence - the long and the short of it is I really haven’t had much to update on! However, in the past few weeks, there have been some developments - I’ve gotten all of the lines for Kurr, Blitz, Raven, and Riley. Tuff’s lines have just started to come in today, and I’m working on the casing call for the other characters. 

The main reason progress is slow is because I’m trying to finish my PhD and find a job - both of which are time-consuming, high-stress activities. My dissertation is written, but the actual defense is just over a month from now, and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t freaking out just a bit. 

Also, I’m sure you’ve all heard about the coronavirus and how it’s affecting cruises? Well, my parents got stuck on a ship for a day while the crew members got tested - thankfully the tests came back negative, and they’re back now, but the experience shook me somewhat.

Sorry this isn’t a more substantial update - I just wanted to let everyone who follows this project that we’re still active and working! I’ll be sure to check back in once I have something to report... or enough time goes by that I need to reassure you I’m not dead. My ask box is always open if you have questions or just want to chat!

Hello all! I’m planning on posting the casting call for Book 3 in a few weeks, and I thought I’d give you all a chance to contribute. 

When posting a role, one of the most important aspects is describing the voice - it is soft? Gravelly? Nasally? This is where you come in. What do you think Tin-Can-Turtle sounds like? Or Willium, or Nim? If you have any thoughts, feel free to message them to me or leave them in the comments or tags! I have some ideas of my own, but I want to hear what you guys think!

Book 2 Supercut

Four years ago today, I started this blog on a lark to give me something to do in my spare time. Since then, so much has changed, but I’m grateful every day for the support of my followers. I can’t express how much your likes, reblogs, and feedback means to me. Art is only completed once it’s found an audience, so thank you all SO MUCH for being my audience and completing my art. Thank you, thank you!!

But enough of the sappy stuff - as you probably saw, the Book 2 Supercut is done! It’s now posted on SoundClound for your auditory enjoyment. If I did everything correctly, you should be able to download it as well! Even if you’ve listened to all of the pages individually, I would strongly recommend giving thee supercut a listen, because there’s a little something extra... I added music! I remember one of my followers previously suggested I try adding music, and I thought it was a great idea!! This is my first time integrating music into my edits, so if anyone has feedback on that (or anything else) I’d be happy to hear it!

This blog will be going dark for a while to take a bit of a break, but I’ll be back in 2020 to work on Book 3! If you have questions or feedback between now and then, you can always come and chat with me on my main at Cuttlefish3011.
