i just wonder how sonny is feeling about all this like did he forgive bentancur? does he feel the sanction is fair? i'm assuming if the club is appealing the decision it's because they know sonny is okay with it, and not that they're belittling his feelings about the whole situation

sonny is the best man in the world, he said that he has forgiven him and that they spoke privately about it as well! from what he says in the ss below is looks like sonny would be okay with it but honestly i have no idea and i don’t think we’ll ever know but i truly hope he’s okay with the club appealing, i have hope in my heart that they confirmed it with him before starting the process

they are trying to make an example out of it and he probably deserves it, and in any other context i'd be happy that they're actually taking racism seriously, but it's kinda hypocritical when they're letting other players walk free

i agree, i had a really long post drafted about this lol. i did a little bit of looking around and it looks like enzo for example isn’t being investigated nor can be banned/fined by the fa because he was on international duty so it’s fifa that will have to issue a penalty for him, whereas bentancur wasn’t technically on international duty when he said those racist things? but yes in general, players have been given a slap on the wrist or even less for the same kind of comments he made. like i said it’s unfortunate that it’s our player that is being made an example of but i hope that it means that in the future they will ALL have to face these kind of punishments. im okay with him being made an example of i hope it’s embarrassing for him tbh

i do think bentancur is being made an example out of with this hefty ban and to be honest i’m not that mad about it. of course it’s unlucky that it’s happening to one of our players but if it gives pause to other idiots from spewing racist shit and playing it off as a joke then i’ll take the sacrifice 🤷‍♀️
