How do you become apart of something like The Arcana?

If you’re interested in working in gamedev, there’s no better teacher than experience! Tools like Twine, Inklewriter, Unity, and Unreal are all free, and there’s a wealth of tutorials and inspirational projects made with those tools that you can draw on. Small, polished projects that showcase your unique talents are a great way to develop your skills, and they also make excellent portfolio pieces if you’re interested in applying to companies. ~ Writer Jetfire

What gave you the idea/motivation to start The Arcana? Also, how did you guys do worldbuilding lol? (Is there a possible map that we might be able to see? :0) Otherwise!! I’m totally digging your game and you’re characters are 💯💯 concept? 👌👏💯 aesthetics?? On point™️

The motivation was that making games is our job, and we wanted to make the kind of thing we wanted to see in the world!Here’s a map of Vesuvia, a sneak peek at the artbook we’ve been working on. ~ Artist Skeleton

How do the writers come up with the paid scenes?

I usually go through my favorite fanfic/romance tropes and decide which one I want to base a scene around this time. We usually start with a vague concept, like “this is a bath scene” or “this is a hurt/comfort scene”, and build it out from there. Also, we always plan the rest of the outline and all of the plot and non-paid content first, and then fit the paid scenes into the story structure we’ve already created. ~ Writer Bucky

We also consider what the past few paid scenes have been like, what we think fans will want to do at that point in the story, and what will be fun for us to write. ~ Writer Jetfire

How long does it take to code a chapter for one character?

The writers code the chapters as we write the content, so it takes as much time as it takes to write and finalize a chapter! We take care of all sprite commands, music and sfx, tarot readings, etc. (About 3-4 weeks from brainstorming to final text). ~ Writer Bucky

In creating a visual novel, what is your order of priority? (Scripting, arting, coding)

Start with a story outline and a design doc. You need to know what you’re writing and how you’ll write it, and what characters and backgrounds you need before you can start. After that, art, coding, scripting, and writing all need to happen at the same time. ~Writer Bucky
