Mon Merttens

Matthew’s favourite thing is a joint so tight it squeaks when you put it together. He has been building and designing wood cabins for many years and his services have been called upon as far afield as the Scottish highlands and Normandy. His experience and understanding of wooden structures is invaluable to our work. He has a strong love of design and his aesthetic incorporates anything and everything from architectural salvage to stained glass and reclaimed wood.

Theodore Weywood

Theo is immersed in the world of boats and lives aboard his own houseboat which he was lucky enough to design and fit himself, he even restores dinghies and rowing boats in his spare time. Often the bespoke furniture we build is based upon some piece of flotsam or jetsam which floats past his window. He brings an attention to detail and his own carefully considered design aesthetic to the arborhouse team.

Sarah contacted us to design and make a one-off piece of built-in, fitted furniture. We used reclaimed Victorian floorboards to great effect and included many useful and innovative design features such as bi-folding doors so as not obstruct the hallway when open, large soft-close drawers with reclaimed copper pipe hanging rails and tennis racket holder.
