Happy 15th anniversary to The Vampire Diaries! In honor of this milestone, we couldn't resist putting together a playlist of songs that we believe Elena Gilbert would have on her iPod.

look, it's a new term and a new chance to be an organised, well-prepared student, but frankly there will come a point where the motivation wears out and you'll slack off. it happens. And unfortunately, shaming yourself for it will not make you magically be able to concentrate or pick up a book. It's what being a human is like!

Instead of saying "i should have done this before, I should have done this like yesterday" think of positive outcomes of doing it. Think of why you want to study this and what is interesting about it. Pick a small part of the task that doesn't look all that daunting, do it, set a 5/10 minute timer if you have to (i usually go for pulling up a youtube lofi video of a certain length and do it until the video is finished) and then. Stop. And congratulate yourself! Pat yourself on the back!

When you feel good about having done it, you'll feel more motivated to pick it up again later. Don't go overboard and burn yourself out every time if you can avoid it. Studying is fun! Researching is fun! Nobody is doing it perfect and nobody knows everything. We're all here to learn. Most of all, be kind to yourself and celebrate your wins ♡

Learn a parent language. 30 minutes on a language learning website a day, a pen and notebook are 20000× better than 10 seconds on insta.

Run a blog. About literally anything. Bland as you may be you can not lack a passion.

Learn programming & coding. This is the IT age, IT skills make up half of what are measured to be 'high value skills'

Learn some dance skills (hopefully high intensity). Better than workouts

Personal style and aesthetic study. The university of You Tube is more than happy to help

Pick an online course on Leadership or Project Management online.

OffScreen Hobbies eg knitting, skating, calligraphy, painting, you get the idea.

Read a novel

Cloud watching / car counting/ high focus easy tasks. Reset your dopamine receptors.

watch a documentary (on health, finance, or business)
