to all the poor selfshippers:

your poverty has never deterred your f/o, and it never will. they would never leave you to fend for yourself when you feel like you're barely surviving, and they'd immediately shut you down whenever you even suggest that it's your fault. they would never blame you for your situation.

if they're well-off, they'd spend as much money as needed to make sure your basic needs are taken care of... plus a little bit more, because they think you deserve some special treatment every now and then ;) they wouldn't want you to worry about money, because they'd have everything covered.

and if they're in the same boat, they'd just be happy to know they're not alone in this. they would be glad to plan some low-budget dates, and the two of you could exchange resources to help each other get by. of course, this also means celebrating small successes together.

no matter the circumstances, they'd always stay with you-- through the bad and the good. ♡

(as an aside: the money you spend on your f/o is not a measure of the value or quality of your love for them. even if you can't buy merchandise and only engage with their source secondhand, they feel your love and gratitude. keep pushing forward. i see and hear you, and your f/o does, too.)

mmm thinking about ocs and f/os and allat ... thibking about savva being stone faced serious dude with little to no humor. thinking about the fact that people barely ever see him smile, and if they do it's never actually genuine. thinking about how he never laughs at anything, ever, and dirk obviously notices.

and even though it amuses savva, dirk's ironic bits never do much for him.

UNTIL one day savva and dirk are bantering, and suddenly dirk does some cringe, but extremely accurate performance parodying something. like some friend of theirs, or referencing something from pop culture or something like that.

and he's REALLy into character ...

until he hears a giggle.

and he turns around.

and savva is laughing.

its nothing, really. its less than laughing his ass off and its more than a giggle. it's a laugh. and it's so sudden dirk almost trips on his ass.

savva looks at him confused, like, why did you stop? that was so funny! and dirk is like DUDE. I KNOW OH MY GOD.

savva doesnt thinks much of his sense of humour so it was some random sunday for him. but for dirk? best day of his fucking life, and he dreams everyday with living it again.

other self shippers need to stop whining when people are rightfully upset when they feel ignored and lonely in this community. i dont know how else to say this but remember this:

a human being, remember this people, human being, is not a terrible person for wanting to have more social interactions with their fellow people. to act like they're the problem and they should "just be happy with what they have" when constantly its proven time and time again people have very specific biases of the type of people they interact with (and i dont mean with f/os and similar fandoms) is just downright cruel. don't treat people badly for the crime of wanting to be around others. you guys are starting to act like middle school bullies.
