DAYA KNEW BETTER than to lie out right to Teia. For a moment she considered if her worries have done stewing and are ready to be revealed, or if she should just keep it to herself. It was a worry founded in suspicion after all, and it was everyone's safety she was always worried about.

"It all went too fast, too smooth," she started, the words tasting bitter in her mouth. "And yes, you know this, but... I am simply trying to peace together who gave them the key, if you catch my drift." The implication was simple. Someone clearly betrayed Treviso. Maybe it was a politician or maybe even a high ranking Crow. "I can't help but wonder, how much of our operations now get back to the Antaam." 

There was this deep unsetting feeling since the Demon of Vyrantium had died. Crows always turn against each other eventually. But usually the intrigues were reserved for each other. It never included Venatori, Antaam; it was an Antivan exploit. "I had one of my fellow mages tailing an Antaam convoy heading out of the city. I have not received word back yet. That concerns me as well," she admitted finally. It was not a contract of any kind, but she knew that she was not at liberty for giving out such an order. Really, it was not even an order, as much as an agreement between brethren. But Daya made a habit of taking the heat for such things.

being a crow comes with responsibilities and dangers that can be complicated by engaging in public relationships. if her partner was another crow, there would be a handful people who would know (like teia, and by extension, viago). while i have a hard time imagining her getting entangled with a regular civilian, any non-crow relationship would be an extremely private affair. no need to put a crow target on someone’s unaffiliated back.
