I was just reading Elixir, the novella between Deity and Apollyon...again. Alex's behaviors managed to take me by surprise and not at all the good kind. It seems as though time has managed to calm my emotional pain at seeing her submissive to everyone at the compound. She is too stubborn and hot-headed to be hiding in a closet because Aiden raised his voice at someone else. For a little while I questioned whether I was reading the correct book, then I realized that she is quite literally on drugs, the Elixir to be exact. Despite this moment of realization, I think it is safe to say that my new summer project is going to be reading the entire series again because that moment of disorientation was not appreciated.

Good news, everyone! We just received an update on the release of the second book in the spinoff series to Covenant, The Power. The release date has been moved to February 23, 2016, so that means that we can see more of Seth sooner than originally planned.

Holy Hades, as some of you may already know, the spin-off series for Seth has had its first book released recently. Previously, there was speculation about the publication date for the second book in the series, but no definite answer. Goodreads, however, updated this to there page recently and although we do not know for certain what "Śub" means, we suspect that it is September. Unfortunately this means no Seth for the summer, but I am sure Armentrout will make the wait worth our while.

I realize that some of you may not be acquainted with the author of this amazing book series. I highly encourage that you check out her website, she is extremely interactive with the fans. A couple fans even got a character named after them. No I was not one of them, the Alex parrallel was pure coincedence. Armentrout has written a couple of other young adult books. Among them is the Lux series, which is literally inhumanly good. Another is Cursed and some might say that it is almost supernatural. In all seriousness, out of respect for the author it would be appreciated if you could stop by her webpage.

Apollyon Sass and Aiden Sorrow
Alex and Seth are like masters of sarcasm and sass. It almost makes me feel bad for Aiden because he is completely sidelined when they get going. He just awkwardly stands there while they have verbal battles. Aiden was also left out of the training because everyone seems to think that Alex is too strong for him to handle, so Seth should take on the burden of her training. Just overall I feel a little bit sorry for Aiden.

Alex at the Zoo
***Spoiler Alert for the Sharp-Minded***
I just realized that when Alex is at the zoo with Aiden they stop to look at the lions and her reaction to the lions is actually major foreshadowing for the ending of the series. She gets a little freaked out about the color of the lions, how they remind her of Seth and she thinks about how she would never want eyes like that. Additionally, when the female lions come out of the den she lectures Aiden on how the females are superior to the males because they are better in battle.

I finally found the book trailer for Half-Blood. It's not like the book came out four years ago or anything like that.

This was honestly one of my favorite quotes from the entire series. At this point in the book is when Alex finally realizes that war is her only option and she accepts it. Despite being an Apollyon, she is still mortal and may not make it through the war alive. After she comes to terms with this, she begins to train harder and mentally prepare herself for what could quite possibly be her last fight.
