Diaries: The Power of Positivity
First day of my senior high school life I was very excited and nervous.  I was walking through the Ls Lobby when I see lot of people also excited and nervous as I can see in their faces. New school, new life, new friends stuck around my head as I walked. Then suddenly there are those grade 12 students welcoming us freshmen in the school.  I’ve seen my old friends right on my way going upstairs of Sb building also looking for their respective classroom. Finally I’ve found my classroom sb 304 HUMSS 2 never expecting that this 4 corner room will be filled by  a lot of memories. New faces and some old friends  I’ve encountered. As what we expect we are all going to introduce our self, as if like we are still junior high students. Then I’m very amaze of the way my block mates introduced their selves. I was also amaze on their achievements too. Finally it is my time to introduced my self, I was so nervous but I introduced myself successfully. The vibe on our block on the first class seems like it was not our first time we meet each other. It was very noisy, seems like everybody is already closed with each other. In the first week, it seems like a typical first week of class. I’ve found a lot of friends especially those friends like we seem to know each other, that we are already closed and the way we think seems like interconnected. Too much for peers as  I directly switched my attention to academics. Pre tests are coming on our way. But I didn’t  take it seriously ‘cause I know it will not be recorded. So I keep my ass up and chill, for I found out that some are not taking it seriously too. Fast forward through the next week where things starting to be serious and complicated as the days past by. Then our first quiz, in our Oral Communication class I was not really pressure in this one because our teacher is really good in conveying her lesson for us to understand, that it seems like we are spoon-feed by her. So after the quiz we find out that we got a great score, as it reflects to our happy faces. But there were some got a low scores , I told them to listen carefully to our teacher, as if I also listen to our teacher well. Then the time past by the bond also come together and getting stronger everyday that it seems like we are family. We also encountered lots of misunderstanding inside the block but it doesn’t  hinder us to be united and play each other roles in a one system in our block. Especially on our last PT were everyone must be productive to come up with a successful theater play. Some are not participating well in the practice but still come up with a positive output. We are successful in our PT as it seems like an exclamation point in our short but the most memorable first semester in Grade 11.

ESSAY
If given a chance to ask someone some questions. Who would it be?
When I was young I thought we are the happiest family on earth no matter how hard life is, but everything change when I received a call telling my brother was gone. I was so sad at that moment. I was stuck in nowhere, I was buffering. I throw a lot of questions. I was bombarded by a lot of questions by then. I couldn’t help myself but cry over and over again. There is no way I could hide the pain. He is so close to me among my siblings. That’s why I am really affected to what has happened to him. He is the person I’d love to talk to if given a chance. I will ask if how is he there? Did he miss me like I do and why did he left do soon? I would not surely miss a chance to ask him those questions by chance to know if he is doing great wherever he might is, to know if he misses me like I do every minute of every day and to know the reason why did he left us this early, he left us in pieces. I want to tell him about what is happening here and that life is never the same without him. I miss him so much and I still can’t believe that he is no longer with us anymore. It was not so long ago and the pain is still fresh. Fresh as meat that even a minute, I could not forget. It pinches me remembering those good old days with him, those happy moments when we are kids, scolded by our parents together, play together, even cried together. I cannot forget when our parents left us at home and he did not cook lunch for the both of us. I burst out crying because I Am so hungry without knowing that he bought something more delicious than I could never expected. He bought me fried chicken, fried fish and a special pancit canton. He always does something that could make me happy until we grew up.  Above all I would never forget our last Christmas gathering together. That was the last time we are complete in the family. We laugh so hard that night. He even teases about my crushes. Those are worth remembering moments with him. We’ve been through a lot of struggles in the family and my brothers’ death was the most painful. God knows I’m still longing for his presence and I’m still holding his dreams for me. His dream to see me with my professional attire, that’s why I’m always doing my best for him and for the family. He even promised to look after me until I graduate in college. But all those words and promises are vanished in a glimpse. I know he is still watching me but its way different when he is here living with us.
Life is rude, life is unpredictable. Losing someone in the family is really the most painful part of being alive. I thought I would never feel the same way I feel when my grandma died but I was wrong it hurts a lot more than everything when someone so close to you will leave. It was never the same since he’s gone. I feel so bad for myself. If only I could go back to the times that he is still alive or if I had a chance I could possibly get a chance to say thank you, hug him and say sorry for the last time before he died. It took me a year to realize that instead of killing myself with sadness, why not convert everything into inspiration and motivation to strive more for there is always a rainbow after the rain. Life is so short to be wasted and we don’t know where is the time that we are going to move the other side. Life may never be the same without those people that we loved so much but there are always lessons and reasons left for us to keep moving and move forward. We might not see the beauty of life when we feel pain but there is always beauty behind everything and we should always remember that everything happens for a reason. God is bigger than the problems that we are facing each day. We often forget to give thanks to the people we are with since the day we are born because we are busy doing things that we thought are more important. One thing I could only say, “Grab the chance and cherish every moment with the people you love before it’s too late.

Biography: A Man with His Dreams for His Country
I would never have thought that knowing him in a screen could change and influence all my views in life. I was sitting in a soft reddish couch with my one foot resting on the next, when his face was flashed in a wide screen in our cabinet. He has this blackened color hair combined with white hair and a nose like Santa Claus, his also known for his dirty-mouth everytime he is speaking either in a crowd or in a press. He is the man I know whom doesn’t care of any people’s feelings, he only think what is the best for all. My dad once told me that the man in the screen is the man you won’t expect to be in that high political position. He is the former City Mayor of Davao in the year 2013 to the year 2016 and now he is the 16th President of the Philippines preceded by Benigno Simeon Aquino III, He is Rodrigo Roa Duterte or known as “Digong”.
Never in the history of our country that we have a unique leader. His presidency has already marked in the history of the Philippines. Compared to a father with a hearty talk to his daughter, Digong was marred by doubts and criticism during his presidential campaign due to his unorthodox style and being straightforward. Yet, this kind of leadership define his administration unique. President Duterte ranked 1st of the most popular president in the world in the year 2016 and there are some traits I usually observed that influence my views in life.
First, Disciplinarian. President Duterte doesn’t want his country experience chaos. AS he said, “All of us want peace, not the peace of the dead, of course, but the peace of living.” President Duterte only wants  the best for this country and he strongly impose to stop the drugs in this country where it is the root of crimes. Having a disciplinarian in this country is having a people with discipline. This influence me as a part of the society, that a person may have a bad traits that some people see his action as immoral, yet this trait made his people disciplined. As a student, I used to fail in class, I used to be a black sheep in the family and I used to fail my parents sometimes but this won’t pull me down as long as I am living with my dreams I would made it to the last to fulfill my dreams. Like, the President he only dream for the goodness of this country.
Second, Simplicity and Humanity. Power and fame have not swayed President Duterte from simplicity.  I usually observed the President of his simplicity. I didn’t see him wear a luxury shirt or things he wear that have cost a single house of a poor person but instead he usually wear a comfortable polo shirt that you wouldn’t recognize him easily to be the president of this country. In life, having expensive things wouldn’t make myself less or more of being a human but for its simplicity that made me truly human and beautiful on my own way. I am a person with what I want is what I got. I cry whenever I don’t get the thing I want and doesn’t care if it is expensive or not. But he influence me, that its not about what I wear that made me unique but my personality that made me who I am.
Lastly, Candor. Candor is a quality of being frank, open and sincere in speech of expression. President Duterte was straightforward and true to his words and doesn’t care what people think and this trait clearly apparent that oftentimes he was misinterpreted. Some people say it was harsh to say inappropriate words specially in public but it doesn’t stop him of being frank. He was my favorite leader of this country eventhough he has this kind of trait but he is the only person I know that is true and honest of every words he utter. He is a man with actions, he put his words into actions. As a human, I have made promises to some special person yet, he influence me to put my words into actions and this influence me that never fail the person you want to be believe in yourself because failing what we have promised made us less to be trusted.
“We cannot move forward if we allow the past to pull us back. Finger-pointing is not the way. That is why I will not waste precious time dwelling on the sins of the past or blaming those who are perceived to be responsible for the mess that we are in and suffering from,” stated by President Duterte. Those traits of that man President Duterte has influence my life. As human we are given the freedom to choose and it is our will to make our own decision but a freedom with responsibility. I was influence to be a person who is free but charge with responsibility whether the result is good or bad we accept it through ourselves and never point someone in responsible of our actions. Rodrigo Roa Duterte influence me to be a good leader and a good person, not just  a person who have a family, a friends, or anything but a person who have dreams not only for himself but for the betterment of the country not just the country but the people itself. I will live with my dreams not just for myself but for the people that surrounds me.

LITERARY JOURNALISM- MODERN DAY LASALLIANS
                                            “The Emerald Cage”
He's standing in a sacred ground, amidst sacred people. The temples towering above him and colors of green and white visible in almost all the corners of the place. But he's wasted, in evil thoughts, using evil weapons, unknowingly feeding his demons and making him satisfyingly unfulfilled. He's treading a path that's doomed to be a trap. But he's ignorant of the horrors that awaits at the end of the line. He's the light that's lost in the darkness and the shield that's left unguarded.
STUDENTS OR PRISONERS. These were the words written outside the wall of a room on the third floor of the SB building. Along with the scorched marks these was purely a sign of threat and protest to the current administration. Speculations were made as to what happened. Security was tightened all over the campus. No one is to enter the university without being scrutinized from head to toe. But one thing was obvious after what transpired that day, everyone shewed their true colors. Instead of uniting on keeping the peace and preventing further damage, almost everybody was playing the blame game. Almost every student in every level has their own suspects and say as to what happened.
He's a proud Lasallian in these modern times. He wears the green and white with his head held high. He bleeds green he loudly boasts. He knows every mission and vision there is. He is a Lasallian down to his very core he promised. People witness him with awe whenever he walks the streets knowing that he is a "Lasallian". But down to his very core he feels empty. He knows that all of these is just an act. He's putting up a show that's only making him sour at the end of the day. All the words he spoke and all the actions he made are to convince the people but it only ended up making himself unconvinced.
He's staring at the monuments of the present, not mindful of its past. He knew where they stood and how they stood. He knew where they came from and why they came. But it never reached him to appreciate on the times when it's still wasn't standing. He marveled at the old temples standing in his presence but didn't noticed the scars hid by the paint. He thinks that he's already seeing things as a whole but he's just actually focusing on the tip of the iceberg. He's trapped in the cage that he solely built. And only he holds the key to free himself.

TRAVELOGUE #1
Tumblr media
The Earth is full of mysteries especially when it comes to nature. Wherever we are we can see the heavenly beauty of our nature and as a result to that, it becomes an attraction to people. One of the bounty and blessed country when it comes to natural resources is the Philippines also known as the “Pearl of the Orient Seas”. It is located off Southeast Asia, between the South China Sea on the west and the Philippine Sea on the east. Philippines is known all over the world for its rich in biodiversity and natural resources. Philippines has the charms that can captured a lot of tourist to visit and explore the 7,641 amazing islands. The trade mark of the Philippines is the spectacular natural resources just like the Mayon Volcano, Puerto Galera, Boracay and many more, this became the precious charm of the Philippines. Moreover, it has major islands which are Luzon in the north, the Visayan Islands in the middle, and Mindanao in the south. Some of the most magical and famous islands can be found in Mindanao.
One of the famous and most visited place in Mindanao is Surigao City which I already been too, it is known for abundance of mineral reserves makes the province dearly treasured by the people there and because of that Surigao is well known as one of the most alluring  beaches all over the Philippines which is definitely true, I’am the living proof!. Hence, Surigao  City is one of the most competitive small cities in the Philippines because of its blistering progress and development.
Tumblr media
When it comes to Surigao beaches we’ve been only to the most popular beaches for we only have limited days to stay in Surigao, it was said by a local person that it is a public beach but I’ll assure you that it is still amazing and worth it to be travelled. It is 30 minutes away from the city and the transportation we used is the habal- habal but you can also choose pakyaw which is an empty motorized tricycle. The name of the beach is “Mabua Pebble beach” one of the first thing to do list when you went to Surigao. It is a shoreline of kilometer-long stretch of smooth, multi-sized pebbles which makes it different or unique from other beaches and we enjoyed swimming there for its water is crystal clear.
Tumblr media
The next day we went to Tinuy-an Falls it is also one of the most visited in Surigao City so we don’t missed the chance and went there. It is the most widest waterfalls in the Philippines.  The Tinuy- an falls is located at barangay Barboanan in Bislig City, it was not an easy trip it is because of the ride which is uphill and a dusty roads and it took 45 minute for us to finally arrived to the magical Tinuy-an Falls.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When I took a dip of the falls the water is very cool, it is very huge in personal and surrounded with big trees. A local tour guide said that a rainbow will appear between 9 to 10 am but sadly we arrived at 1 pm so we did not witness the rainbow. To get closer and to go right under the waterfalls  we tried the bamboo ride and  I have so much fun of the ride.  Furthermore, a tour guide will help you climb to the second level of the waterfalls and a fantastic view is waiting on you. A perfect moment for me to appreciate the beauty and importance of our nature, what a perfectly made by our creator it is!
If you like everything about nature and taking aesthetic photos then this place is perfect for you. Surigao is a perfect summer getaway for you and for your love ones! Surigao is waving at you! Go pack your things and discover it by yourself and don’t forget to seas every moment cause surely you’ll be having so much fun. Collect moments, not things. In Surigao summer never ends!
