Ghost Trick is so funny because it's one of those games where people keep telling you to play it and after a while you start getting curious so you go "whatever" and try it

Then you're playing it and the thing happens which leads to the thing and ultimately gets you to THE thing and then you finish it and are like "I have to tell people"

So you go on social media to post about how this was a downright mindblowing experience but are like "Oh no what do I say to not reveale too much?"

You then type "Play Ghost Trick" and hit post like some sort of drone and you are 100% right to do so

I’m playing TGAA 1-4 case and I can’t find the words to explain how i feel but this. THIS. this is just so so so good i-

this is just brilliant actually. Ryunosuke (and me by extension) just won our first trial in England. We got Mcgilded acquitted even though we knew deep down that it wasn’t right. He betrayed our trust in him and we didn’t have the evidence to prove that. That "not guilty" verdict felt so bad, i genuinely wanted to turn off the game bc of how unfair that was. We got a probably guilty guy technically free. What feels even worse is that if you’ve played all the others AA games before, this is such an especially painful situation bc with Phoenix, Apollo, Athena and even Edgeworth every time you defend someone, they are innocent and you are right to trust them from the beginning, you never doubt for one second that the defendant might be the criminal (except for the matt engarde case). we implicitly trust everyone we defend, it’s a status quo if that makes sense.

Ryunosuke doesn’t know what to believe in anymore, he doesn’t know if he can be an attorney anymore. He’s in a new country, he doesn’t know anything about, in a new system he hasn’t learned to trust and the first person he fights for turns out to be a manipulative as hell. How could he trust himself to defend anyone anymore ? what if they’re like Mcgilded ?Ryunosuke lost that trust in himself to do the right thing and therefore lost the trust in others too. He can’t trust that system, it is rigged especially to those in power, able to play with the rules, especially rich people like the Mcgilded.

So having Sholmes telling him this, reminding him of the words of Kazuma felt like a slap in the face, like a wake up call. You can’t know for sure if someone is guilty or not, however you can choose to believe in someone and trust yourself to have made the right choice. Ultimately if you’re wrong, it’s like Sholmes said, "an elementary error of judgment" and anyone can make those, it’s only human.

And isn’t that what relationships are all about? You trust your friends, family, lovers etc to love you and be there for you. That requires to trust yourself to trust them. Maybe people will betray you, maybe not, you can’t know that, but you can’t blame yourself for trusting someone, if they betray you it was a lapse of judgement and that can happen, you can only learn from that error and try to make better judgement next time with the other people you will meet.

Do you have any shading/coloring tips?

Shading:

For starters I use my sketch as line art and then I color a gray base

I then turn down the opacity of the line art to 50%, change to overlay, and then mask to the grey base (the object in the darker gray is in a separate folder)

(Note: I draw with ibispaint just in case that important)

I redraw the eyelashes on a separate layer and color a reddish fade in the corner

Then I create a folder, mask it to the gray base, and color with ether a pen or a lasso fill and I recommend to color anything that is in a different color and touches each other on a separate layer so it’s easier to change later

Also put it all in a folder(or anything equivalent to it) for organization sake

When I start shading I first hide the color so I can see what I’m shading then I identify the light source and paint in something simple

I use the flat watercolor mix 2 brush with the opacity that turned down to about 20% it really depends It gives me more control on how I want the shading to look

With said brush I go back and add more to the shading or erased stuff if needed and also do not worry about keeping perfect or in the line it’s honestly more of a stylistic choice

Also coloring some parts of the line art to lighting color can help make the light look brighter

Some time I add a random splash of color in the shading to make it look more interesting

If the shading color is a cool color, use a warm color and if the shading color is a warm color use cool a color

Coloring:

After I finish shading and lighting and adding background I add a gray scale filter to check if the colors is to similar value if it is I either would darken it or make it lighter to add contrast

When I want the colors to look more brighter I add a overlay layer on the very top and with an airbrush paint over the object with a brighter color of what ever I want brighter

I also add a hue and saturation filter and turn up the saturation a little bit usually about 10% or less
