Dark Souls 1 is one of the best video games (and arguably works of art) ever made, it and the franchise it spawned have singlehandedly shaken up the entire philosophy of game design over the last decade and a half, and it still holds up every time i go back to it. and also if you just go into it raw in 2025 you are going to assume it's fucking dogshit and you'll be mostly correct. truly the Morrowind of action RPGs
