A little update! In 2018 I went to school to become an

esthetician. I graduated June of 2019.

I planned to take my state board test in in February

of 2020 but the pandemic hit 😞. State board

opened back up around June of 2020 and I took my

test and of course I passed! I then applied for my

LLC.

Through the pandemic I started buying supplies for

my business. I started planning where I would

perform my services. My initial plan was to do

mobile, but that comes with a whole lot of extra

things! In the mean time in between time I had been

applying to literally every franchised spa in Charlotte

but none would hire me. 😞 I knew my potential and

my talent and how much I wanted to give people a

memorable, relaxing experience. I invested in two

black women who were supposed to be opening up

a salon/spa in September of 2020. It never

happened. I was so discouraged! Like I really wanted

to practice my craft! I started working a regular job

just to stay afloat. I was looking for other 9-5’s while

working for a warehouse. I was not happy and really

losing sight of my dream. I realized this and began

searching again. I made a post in the “Charlotte

Black Business” group on fb. Many people

responded with openings and opportunities!

I responded to a lot of them, but there was one place

that really stood out and had everything I needed.

I FINALLY secured a place to do what I love!

Moral of the story, NEVER GIVE UP ON YOURSELF.

Wow tumblr! It’s been so long since I’ve been here...so many things have changed in my life! For starters, I’m engaged! I’m now 27 (think I left tumblr around 23/24). I have 2 kids and working on a 3rd. I’m a licensed esthetician and I own my own business! I am going to slowly but surely start posting little updates from the years I haven’t been on here. Yallllll I’m so excited to be back 🤗
