Enjoyed a lovely sunday dinner today! 😍all that goodness, did you know that vegetables are healthier than fruit? Better to get your greens in you than your fruits!💚

I really like the poster of the hipster type character, i feel as if it really picks up on target audience and also the awareness of the festival, as it also sticks to the colours of the season it is held in.
I also like the Glastonbury poster where the font is broke up and the style of the typeface is very playful.

Chelsea Flower Show Research
Chelsea Flower Show
The Chelsea flower show, formally known as the Great Spring Show, is a garden show held for 5 days to raise money for the Royal Hospital of Chelsea, in London. This event has been taking place since 1912 and is the most famous flower and landscape gardens show in the UK, but attracts visitors from all over the world.
The first ‘Great Spring’ festival was held in 1862 at the RHS garden in Kensington, before this though the RHS had held previous flower shows from the earliest record being 1833 in Chiswick.
Today’s Chelsea Flower Show receives a lot of publicity and has over 150,000 visitors each year, meaning all tickets must be purchased in advance.
Posters
Why chose this one?
I chose to create a brand identity, applications of that identity on posters and interactive advertisement materials for the Chelsea flower show because I think the colours and flowers will make for an interesting final result. It stuck out to me from the page and I feel as if this will be good for my skill set.
My Favourite images
These are all photos from the Chelsea Garden Website that I’ve edited to make a mood board.
Colours used
·         Bright blue
·         Yellows
·         Deep orange
·         Vivid pinks and subtle salmons
·         Shades of purple
·         Greens
 Activities that take place:
·         Flower competitions
·         Tea Party
·         Musician acts or dancing.
·         Bar
·         Best dressed flower
Target Audience:
Although the actual flyer says it is for all ages, I really believe that the target audience is 18+ as there is a bar and also that the risk of smaller children running through the flower displays and ruining them. Though children are allowed, they would need to be accompanied by an adult, and that’s who I plan to aim my posters and other advertisements towards.

Basic January
·         The birthstone of January is Garnet, mined in a rainbow of colours. From the fiery orange of Mandarin Garnet to the rich green of Tsavorite Garnet and to the most widely recognized colour of Pyrope Garnet, it is considered a great gift to symbolize friendship and trust.
·         The Capricorn Star Sign
Element Earth, Quality Cardinal, Charge Negative, Ruling Planet Saturn, Day Saturday Capricorns are lucky. They are the ones who look younger as they get older. They are very attractive and neat and once they get over their shyness they are quite aggressive. They can be trusted to keep a secret and are really great in emergencies. Sometimes they are a little bit impulsive but as their intuition is pretty strong, they usually make the right decisions. They’re creative, sensitive and patient. On a bad day they can be jealous, selfish and moody. They are very close to their family and are usually the last ones to leave home.
·         The Aquarius Star Sign
Element Air, Quality Fixed, Charge Positive, Ruling Planet Saturn/Uranus ~ Day Sunday.
Firstly, you can’t tell an Aquarius anything – they already know! In fact, they are the know-alls of the zodiac. They are original, inventive and very smart. They are very peculiar in the way they dress. Wearing football socks with a suit could be quite normal! They are nearly always late arriving anywhere because time means nothing. The telephone is their lifeline so they would rather ring their next-door neighbour than fraternise over the fence. They are so friendly even the dog down the street will find its way to the Aquarius house…and stay.
·         In china, the zodiac is based on the year you were born. This year it is Year of the Cock/Chicken/Rooster. 2017 Is a Fire Rooster Year — What “Fire Rooster Year” Means
In Chinese astrology, each zodiac year is not just associated with an animal sign, but also one of five elements: Gold (Metal), Wood, Water, Fire, or Earth.
Both the zodiac signs and the element shape the astrology of the year. For example, 2017 is a Fire Rooster year. Element-sign combinations recur every 60 years.

Plant of the Day
Wednesday 20 May 2015
The glorious diversity and subtle colour choices in Cayeux bearded irises (sometimes sold as Iris germanica cultivars). This French nursery specialises in irises and their display at the RHS Chelsea Show allows you to compare them in great detail. These plants will cope with drought once established and need their rhizome to be exposed on the soil surface.
The Writtle School of Design Show starts today with a wonderful display of our undergraduate, postgraduate and diploma students final year work - thank you to them all for working so hard.

Five noir problems
1. When the night has a thousand eyes but it still refuses to help you find your keys even though it can almost certainly see them somewhere. 2. When you fall into the trench from which trenchcoats are mined and although your fall is somewhat cushioned it’s been a bumper year at the trenchcoat refinery so it’s going to take you a while to climb out again and meanwhile someone is doing crime somewhere.   3. When there has been an unfortunate mix-up between dames (female) and dames (pantomime) and as a result some slapstick comedy memes have started following you around with a tuba and it’s become nearly impossible to sneak a moody smoke on a street corner. 4. When you are trying to escape a sketchy, shady past, which is a problem because past you has a time machine and keeps on pinning up sketches and occasionally erecting sunshades around your dive bar habitat. 5. When you attempt to make the streets of this dirty old town less mean by stripping them of all meaning, leaving residents of the town confused as to why there are senselessly flat paved areas all over the place.

Examples of Stamps
Tumblr media
After a Critical analysis with my tutor, he chose the designs that had the most potential for me to take forward and add colour too. I chose to use colours that I thought either went with the mood of the word, or the theme of the word, for example; Post was made to look like a letter box, and traditionally in the UK, they are a vivid red.
The programme I chose to do my work in was Adobe Illustrator, this was because of how handy the individual tool was to help manipulate the letters without making their font unrecognisable (by pressing Ctrl and Alt on the keyboard).
