Some discussion shorthand
SIG = Societally Imposed Gender
This refers to the gender that is imposed upon & expected of a person by the world around them. Trans people, generally speaking, have an identity & self-conceptualization which subverts their SIG, and this (hatred of those who subvert their SIG) is part of the basis of transphobia.
CSIG = Consistent Societally Imposed Gender
This acronym is shorthand for those whose SIG matches the gender they were originally assigned at birth, and have this gender consistently imposed upon them throughout their life.
This term generally refers to all perisex people, save for in very rare circumstances (such as the case of David Reimer), and intersex people whose intersex traits did not cause any changes in their SIG.
ISIG = Inconsistent Societally Imposed Gender
This acronym refers to those whose SIG does not match the gender they were originally assigned at birth, and/or was inconsistent throughout their childhood, under scrutiny from doctors, parents, and/or peers.
This term generally refers to intersex individuals whose intersex traits caused their SIG to be inconsistent with their birth assigned gender for a substantial part of their life.
I believe terms such as SIF(emale) & SIM(ale) would ultimately be misused, and they wouldn't serve any good use in discussion.
These terms, ISIG/CSIG, are specifically meant to discuss the way intersex people's place in a binary gendered society can affect their identity and experiences with oppression.
