might  be  relying  too  hard  on  instinct ,  a  mass  of  red  at  the  edge  of  her  vision  &  pistols  are  pointed  before  anything  else .  tensions  run  high ,  she  can  feel  her  blood  run  thick  &  still ,  lady  waits  to  hear  him  out ,  snarl  unfurling  as  he  speaks .  she  is  being  lenient ,  could  regret  it ,  knowing  the  underworld  can  subvert  expectation .    “    tell  me  something ,  if  you’re  so  well-mannered━    ”    for  a  demon ,  an  underhanded  compliment .  she  knows  what  devils  fresh  outta  hell  sound  like  &  he  couldn’t  be  any  more  different ,  appearance  notwithstanding .  even  she  could  tell  through  his  vernacular  that  he  has  been  topside  for  a  while .    humour  does  begin  to  line  her  features  &  when  she  continues ,  she  masks  an  olive  branch .    “    how  come  you  know  my  name ?    ”    wasn’t  the  hardest  thing  to  guess  but  as  far  as  introductions  go ,  she’s  proud  of  this  one .

he makes a bit of a grunt, “ hrn” at the very least she seems not to be as gun-ho as some hunters are. just makes things more difficult to have this indie people when they should really just join the bureau. not like they need more people, got enough agents as it is, just would make it a bit more easier for him. not really a bother, he feels he could take her on in a heartbeat, just an annoying sidetrack. “ not somethin’ i’ve been called too often. “ yeah, he knows what she means. for a demon. he ain’t gonna argue that, even if he wants to. smaller hand grips harder around his revolver. “ lad- “ stops in his tracks. he can’t help but have a little chuckle at that one, “ heh, you tellin’ me your name is lady? “ guess he shouldn’t throw stones, he is called hellboy after all. given to him all those years ago, just never bothered to change it. he’s grown used to it. “ it’s hellboy. “ he slowly lowers his gun, “ guess we went to the same namin’ school. “

When discussing the film, Mignola and del Toro were considering who should play Hellboy. They each said they had a particular actor in mind and decided to each write their choice down on a napkin and turn them both over at the same time. They had both written "Ron Perlman."
