Chapter 1 : Worth the Wait

" All good things take time and are worth the wait"

The sunlight bathes the world in soft glow , which may make anyone believe in magic . Birds chirping around urging the ones in slumber to wake up and embrace the moments of early dawn . These birds come to the bird house, which offers them water to quench their thirst . This bird house was made by gentle little hands , whose kind heart was enamoured by people around her . Curious eyes observing the birds replenish themselves from the slightly open windows to understand the changes to be made through the way birds drink through it . It seems the hole for the house was a little smaller for the birds .

A voice is heard and the little girl turns her head .

"You are already awake ...Kanae." The women looks at her and understands that the girl must have been woken up to see her plan coming to fruition.

"Yes , okaasan, you should see the birds . They like the bird house I made for them, and they even drank the water, but I made a mistake.... the hole a little smaller for them ."

The mother looked at her smiled she was really worried for birds . She found her daughter's concern endearing . She speaks

"Well then, now you just have to make the hole larger. You can do it when the birds fly away for finding food ... but now you must eat your breakfast. "

Little girl looks up to her and inquires "why can't we give them food as well "

The mother smiles and replies –" Because they need to a little independent as well , there needs to be a balance , now you have provided them a shelter you have done half work that humans should do as we are responsible for protecting life.....the other half is birds living on their own which you shouldnt interfere with " .

They both leave the room for breakfast. Walking through the corridors, they reach the dining room . As they reach , they see a practiced moments of hands turning the pages of newspaper . The news paper is kept to reveal a smiling face . The mother looks at him and he chuckles–"Birds ...again "

The mother nods and kanae goes to her father who shifts his attention from the newspaper to his daughter who tells him all about the bird house .

" Don't worry , Kanae, we will fix it together after breakfast just like we always do." The man replies to his daughters worries, and they all begin to eat .

After breakfast, the duo begins to fix the birdhouse . Then they sit , waiting for the birds to come. Suddenly, Kanae goes back into the house . The parents sit by wondering the reason behind it as she comes out with a bowl filled with water, keeping it by the bird house sitting on the grass waiting for the birds to come.

Kanae enquires -" When will the birds come ?. Her father looks at kanae and then looks over the mother's swollen belly – " All good things take time and are worth the wait ."
