There’s been debate on whether lynhelbet is a scam blog or not?
Yes. Yes they are.
First of all, similar to pet scams, the blog reaches out via asks and has no personal posts other than the one scam post. The first post this blog ever reposted was late May. The GetGoFunding page shows the name “Grace Helbet” for the daughter and “Lyn Helbet“ for the mother. Searches for these names show only traces to this scam post. There’s no hits for anyone with these names in Michigan, not to mention Grace is a commonly used name in fake scenarios like this. The ONLY things that comes up when searching those names are related to this scam. The Twitter activity is appalling scammer behavior, with only reposts and the scam post as well as constantly tagging random people. The pictures shown on the funding website and the Twitter are zoomed in and low quality, as if they’d been taken from another source like Facebook and edited to prevent reverse search. That is classic catfishing behavior. Another sign is bad English, but of course, that’s not always a sign of catfishing. Long story short, don’t risk donating to this person or even reblogging their stuff. Keep your eyes peeled for the signs! @kyra45 tagging u bc i think it’s important u see 👉👈
