Micaela Mclean is a sophomore on campus and is a R.A. at Haggin Hall. Her interview offers a veteran sort of view of campus as she has been able to really find an aspect of nature that she can really appreciate. Micaela enjoys going to the arboretum in her spare time. She says that nature to her is “the grass and flowers flowing in the breeze”. This interview offers a perspective of campus that is very informative to people looking to find a place of serenity and for people looking for a great way to spend their free time.

I decided to interview one of UK’s students for a relatively new perspective of nature on University of Kentucky’s campus. Jacob Whitt is a freshman on campus and enjoys nature/ the environment when he goes to do homework at Willy T. Library. He says it offers sense of peace or serenity that he can't seem to find anywhere else on campus. He enjoys coming here in his free time as well.

There were many different ways I could've approached the task of asking a person on campus about their views on nature and the environment. I figured that asking someone who didn't have much time to think about their answer, would give a fairly honest response on their first thoughts that came to mind when they think of nature and environment; hence the reason I chose the woman at the 90. She was an elderly woman, who's views are obviously going to differ from those of young students, especially ones that aren't as familiar with the campus and the different sites on campus. She answered "the sky" is what she imagines when she thinks of nature, and on campus next to Bowman's Den, between the new students center, there is an open field where people can relax and view the sky there. She does, in fact, believe that humans are apart of nature, as well as nature and environment are different. I couldn't agree with her more, and the fact there is no right or wrong answer is eye opening, because it allows people to see how others view one of the only things we (people, plants, and animals) have in common, which is the Earth and nature.-Jada Banks

ANT 225 Group 5 Fall 2017
This is group 5 of Section 003: Merrick Brown, Jada Banks, Jonas Graham and Kleine Powell.
Nature is a complicated thing and many people have different ideas and dentition for Nature. In this blog we’re going to talk how people around the Campus of University of Kentucky.
How would you define nature and environment? That question can tie people up when it comes to if it’s different or not. Many people have different opinions on what is nature and what is environment but that definition isn’t always the exact same or really any different.
The next question was about where people enjoy nature on campus or what is their favorite spot in nature. Kentucky and Lexington in particular is known for their agriculture and how they use their land. This planning and use of it allows for many open spaces and paths just on campus for people to use and walk through to experience the outdoors. The people that we interviewed all had different opinions on where their favorite was on campus.
The last question we had for our interviewees was if nature was different from environment. Again we had pretty diverse answers when it came to if it really is different or if parts of it were different and other aspects were the same.
The next comments on this blog post are our interviews and a paragraph from each the interviewer about what situation it was and how they analyzed it.
