ok wait i just found something INSANE while reading severance theories
in s1 ep2 dylan is telling helly why mark is the only one with the crystal head cube thing. he explains that the files they work on only "keep so long" and they finish about 1 in 5 before they expire, which is better than it used to be since mark started working there
then we start zooming into irving as he falls asleep and first sees the goo and the audio gets all weird
TURNS OUT its dylan talking in reverse about how mark had a "freshman fluke" and finished a file in a single day, when usually it would take people 7 weeks! no one knows how he did it!
there's something going on with him, it's gotta be the reason they HAD to have him back to finish cold harbor

in middle school i knew a guy named alexander hamilton because his parents just thought it would be nice to name their son after a historical figure but then this poor guy went through hell because he was 13 years old in 2015 and his name was alexander hamilton

honestly i think there are fictional depictions of good cops (or even just cops as interesting characters) that, despite being copaganda to some degree, i can cut people some slack for liking for myriad of other reasons, especially if i know they鈥檙e keeping ACAB in mind. i just think it鈥檚 particularly funny to get Zootopia people whipped up for some reason. born and bred hater. cradle to grave i will be hating. know this

It really could only be Irving who figured out who Helly was.
We meet him as a devout believer in Keir and the strange religion that Lumon has built around him and all the other Eagans.
And then when he strays from their teachings the gods that he so ardently believes in they punish him by taking away the man he loves.
And now, here in front of him, is one of his gods. And his god is not only openly mocking the beliefs that he has been devoted to his entire (innie) life to but the beliefs that he was punished for transgressing. And to add insult to injury his god has assumed that he, a true believer until mere days ago, wouldn't know her when she stood in front of him?
Irving was a man of faith, his faith has betrayed him, and now he's trying to kill God. I love it.
