as our first anniversary of...dating? being official? whatever... approaches i remember that as i drove to meet him for the first time i was listening to my october-november 2023 playlist and in dreams by roy orbison was playing right when i arrived and parked the car. so. roy orbison is forever a part of the tapestry of relationship experiences.

today's public diary entry: been thinking about how life is long and too short and how i've been working a lot and how in the grand scheme of things a few months of working extra won't seem like a lot but also what really matters is spending time with people i love and what if i shorten my next visit to my bf to pick up extra days because someone quit and then one of us dies in a freak accident immediately after and i didn't maximize my time with him but what if we don't die and we have a long time together and working extra was good for us in the long term because it kept me in good standing with my coworkers and made me some extra money. frankly, i'm worried probably more than is healthy that something will happen to one of us before our life together can really start. love has made me selfish and preoccupied with my mortality.
