after reading some stuff that wasn't really "fun" to read (a chronicle of the last pagans especially would have been easier to read if i knew more about the roman empire), starting city of saints and madmen is so wonderful. i almost forgot what it was like to enjoy someone's writing. thanks jeff

a song for lya is a great look into grrm's mind because it's a story about how women are impossible to understand even when your wife and you yourself are literally telepathic

im not watching the wot show and i probably won't but i am very pleased about explicit continuing moiraine x siuan and making rand's girlfriends gay for each other. i'll actually start watching if they do rand x mat.

the "would hannibal eat [person]" poll blog is fun i guess but let's be honest. there is nobody he wouldn't eat. you have misunderstood the character if you think otherwise.

“In November 2005 I drove the van as Andrew and Martin Dosh went out on their first tour together. One of our first stops was Ypsilanti, Michigan, where we sat in a friend’s house late into the night, Andrew cranking away on an early version of Scythian Empires, asking Dosh and I for words that rhyme with ‘Thracians’.” – Jay Ryan

my biggest criticism of walk hard is that for the clip of the "real dewey cox" at the end they should have made jcr a lot uglier or cast somebody else

i'm so grateful i was not smart or driven enough to end up in one of the professions in which you're guaranteed to work way more than 40 hours a week (i used to want to for some reason), like, that's already too much for me. and there is no profession i could possibly care about or believe in enough to give that much of my time to, i've never been prone to having passions. maybe it's sad but it's true. just reflecting on my life so far and thinking again about second careers.
