ok so i'm not on this site anymore but i thought it'd be a good idea to come here to get more eyes on this discord server i'm in for black trans ppl, bc it's existence brings me so much joy & i want to share that w other black trans folk, especially those who've like me spent YEARS looking for a space for us.

like, not to be cliche, but it rly does feel like i've found my family.. i'm spending more time in this server than anywhere else rn bc it's just been a huge relief. it's rly nice here & very fun :,)

Honestly, after everything that has happened with the Patreon thing. The doxing ring, the absolute MONEY that people were making from stealing, etc. Like, it’s pretty disgusting. This isn’t just another community drama. This is about hundreds of thousands of dollars, the people who were willing to commit blackmail over it, and the fact that EA sat back for MORE than a decade and let this happen. 

I’m just… I know I said it already but I’m disgusted by what I’ve learned.

Separate Top/Bottoms for non-Everyday Clothes Mod

PLEASE READ!

This mod wouldn’t have been possible without BartekStu’s discovery on how to enable these buttons via debug mode in-game, so huge thanks to him!

This is an improved, hack version of his original discovery that works out of the box and without having to access debug mode or do any kind of manual procedure everytime.

Separates4All Mod:

There’s a few caveats: You NEED a No-CD version of The Sims 2 Mansion & Garden or Sims2RPC for this mod to work!

Sims2RPC Version:

Simply drop “Separates4All.asi” into your TSBin/mods folder.

Download: SFS / Dropbox

For non-Sims2RPC Users:

(Exe patches can be combined together, i.e. you can use it on an executable patched with Randomizer Fixes)

Run the “Separates4AllPatcher.exe” executable and locate your TSBin/Sims2EP9.exe when prompted. Make sure this is the No-CD version of the M&G executable, otherwise it won’t work.

Update 1: Added Buy Clothing support.

Update 2: The game will no longer force you into the panel for full body outfits when you switch to a category that’s not Everyday in CAS. It will stay in tops if you had tops selected, bottoms if you had bottoms selected and outfits if you had outfits selected.

Hi! From a 3t2 Eaxis hair actually, precisely this Simgarooped recolor of the Dreads Long. But I used it only twice or so, for most of the originally dreaded hairs I just use the original textures, and recolor them :)

TS2 NOTIFICATION TEMPLATES + SPEECH / THOUGHT BUBBLES

I’ve made a lot of these template for S*4 (see here) and I figured I would make some for TS2, even though I can not for the LIFE of me find extracted icons? Eghk, whatever. If you want, here are some S*4 icons you can download, I’ve been using those.

So I have two templates for you, they are photoshop documents. So needless to say you will need photoshop to edit/open them.

Some photoshop experience is required to use these, like how to edit text fields, merge layers, and scaling. There are instructions on how to efficiently use them in the download folder in a note pad file.

Trait Ideas

I’ve been thinking about @hexagonal-bipyramid‘s traits project. Just to be clear, I’m not saying I’ll make these mods. Just brainstorming while bored. 

Brave/Coward

Always/Never uses diving board. Toddlers will/won’t escape from their cribs. 

Clumsy

Uses the beginner cooking animation (cuts themselves) no matter how skilled they are at cooking. Can slip and fall (interaction using the animation from learning to skate).

Commitment Issues

May turn down proposal/go steady/ask to move in/run from altar even if relationship score is high. More likely to want to quit job. One true hobby/LTW/Aspiration may change automatically. Some of this could also apply to Absent-Minded

Hopeless Romantic

Open to accepting everything in the previous list even if the relationship score is low.

Eco-Friendly

Automatic bronze gardening badge. Can’t spray roaches or plants. Has access to the salvage interaction. Will compost instead of throwing things away. Loses comfort after driving a car. Can go dumpster diving (walk off lot, come back with an object).

Hot-Headed

Gets furious at others every time a conversation goes badly. Can autonomously break up with/kick roommates out. More likely to break objects and to get fired.

Schmoozer

Can use the romance aspiration’s smooth talk interaction and the family interaction’s plead for a child Can always talk the headmaster into admitting their child. Has a good reputation by default.

Heavy Sleeper

Gets a good night’s sleep no matter how cheap their bed is.

Perceptive

Automatic parenting skill and couples counseling skill.

A small mod that allows female maids to spawn with a random hairstyle ^^ Existing maids will keep using “afhairhatmaid” (or whatever you default replaced it with).

If you remove the mod, the new maids will switch to the maid hair, but they will regain their unique hairstyles once you put it back in.

Fun Fact: It seems that every family that was in The Sims base game and The Sims 2 base game got a cameo in either Sunset Valley or Riverview. However, it seems as if The Pleasants were forgotten (until their appearance in Sunlit Tides) since neither Daniels parents nor Mary-Sue’s adoptive parents are in Sunset Valley. But why didn’t we get to see their parents the same way we did for the Newbies and the Goths?

While we don’t see Daniel’s parents, we do meet Mary-Sue’s parents in Sunset Valley without even realizing it. Not Herb and Coral but her biological parents. Mary-Sue’s biological parents are Hank Goddard and Pauline Wan. It’s implied that they have given Mary-Sue up because they both have the “Fear of Commitment” Trait. Also, due to Hank’s red hair, we know why the twins ended up as gingers!

The Sims 2 for PSP screwed me up as a kid because it was the first time i encountered (spoilers i guess) a meta-narrative for any type of media where it became self aware and people in the world questioned their own existence. The whole thing was an existential fever-dream honestly. I was just a kid when I played it but the narrative caught me so much that I was hoping they'd continue the story in the Sims 3 but sadly that never happened. Have you ever played The Sims 2 on PSP?

I played The Sims 2 on PSP but I never finished it. (Sad for someone who runs a blog on how much they love The Sims, I know). It took me MONTHS to get past damn werewolf stage. Looking back I have two thoughts.

1. That weirdness was SO specific to The Sims 2 era. EA would never do something like that today. I remember a few things specifically like the cult you had to join or Ophelia owning that old church? That was a fucking trip. Also, if we consider that game canon then like the Curious brothers are evil and the Beakers are like canonically murders with a body count. 

2. On a more serious note, The Sims 2 did a lot of meta-narrative type things. It includes a LOT of references to the film Pleasantville and (Spoilers) It’s a film about a sanitized 50′s television show where everything about life is so “clean” that it’s unrecognizable until you start to look deeper and realize all of the questions that it raises about politics/morality.

All I’m trying to say is that I have a theory that someone on the team during TS2′s development wanted to make a semi-serious statement on the image that The Sims was pushing. The Sims is way less apolitical than people think it is. It’s just really good at hiding it most of the time. There’s actually a book on this and I plan on talking about it soon if anyone’s interested.
