People say that Jin Ling takes after Jiang Cheng, and I don't know how much I agree with that.

Here's what I do know, though; I hope Jiang Cheng believes it.

I hope Jiang Cheng sees how alike he and Jin Ling are. I hope he sees how Jin Ling has a temper like he does, is prideful like Jiang Cheng, and has a sharp tongue like his jiujiu. I hope Jiang Cheng sees how Jin Ling's anger covers up his insecurities, I hope he sees how Jin Ling tries so hard because he feels like he has to prove himself. I hope Jiang Cheng sees how Jin Ling is reckless and impatient and sensitive like his jiujiu.

I hope Jiang Cheng sees everything and realizes it's not so hard to love Jin Ling at all; in fact, all those qualities and more make Jiang Cheng love him more than anything in his life.

I hope Jiang Cheng sees it all and realizes it was never his fault— he hadn't been hard to love either.

One thing that I'll never let go of is how deep JC and JL's bond is. It is important to note that the role they were born into will naturally makes them closer.

JL, since he was young, knew that he would be the heir to a powerful sect, and he understood that pressure. The ending cemented why the uncle-nephew bond is so much deeper. Only JC can truly understand the depth of what it’s like carrying a whole sect as a young leader; that's why he has continued supporting JL as he succeeded the Jin sect. That’s why he publicly got involved in another sect affair to ensure JL's safety and his position.

This is not just an experience that WWX will be unable to relate to, but a completely different life and value from his. JL will grow up understanding that not all his choices will be free of relation to his sect. He will understand that, as a sect leader, his hands are tied in many situations because he will have to think about the consequences.

In a peaceful world that has no sunshot campaign or demon cultivation, JC will still understand and be a mentor for his nephew. Remember that JL will grow up to be a sect leader and not an independent cultivator who can freely do what he wants. Those two will only grow closer as the boy become more confident in his role as sect leader.

I know that JL will be proud to see his guidance results in the sect’s prosperity and stability. There's a beauty to the role of a leader that only those who actually live it can understand.

Saw this post that tried to imply that if WWX had been around to help raise JL, he'd be JL's favourite uncle, and I just had to roll my eyes to the sky. Antis really can't cope with the fact that JC is JL's favourite in the canon, that they have to make WWX into some perfect Mary sue who is everyone's favourite. Such a cope, lol.

JL is literally a carbon copy of JC. He inherited his grumpy, tsundere attitude (and his father's brattiness!). Whilst he will love WWX, I can also see him growing exasperated with him at times, just like JC used to whenever WWX would tease him! JC and JL will be able to relate to the fact that they're always on the butt end of WWX'S shenanigans! Their reactions would be the same, and WWX would thrive on that!

Not only that, JL is literally just JC but under better circumstances. He wasn't traumatised by war, nor has he ever had to make the same sort of decisions JC did at an early age. I know he too was made SL young and had the trauma of losing both his parents and discovering that his beloved uncle, JGY, was the huge mastermind behind everything and tried to kill him. But at least he had JC and WWX's guidance in the end. They both won't let him make the same mistakes they did.

Which brings me to my next point that had there been no sunshot campaign, no core loss, no DC, JC would have simply turned out a lot like JL. A grumpy SL with a cold exterior and a warm interior. It was trauma that brought out those "ugly" traits antis like to criticise JC for. Remember, before the war, he was just a normal kid. A kid suffering emotional abuse from his parents.. but still.. a normal kid. I have no reason to believe he would have turned into this monster, antis love to paint him as being. I feel like JL is meant to be JC's parallel. How he would have turned out had the circumstances been better. The fact that he turned out to be a good kid under JC's care is a testament to that.

Stop trying to take their relationship away from them just to elevate WWX. JiuJiu and JL will always be eachothers favourites for only they can understand each other, and that's fine! It won't make WWX any less of a good character, I promise.
