The reason dogs create a natural bond with toys (specifically furry, soft, and small toys) is because the dog treats the toy as a fellow brother or sister. Although dogs become aware the toys are not alive as they grow older, its resemblance to an animal tricks puppies into thinking that these toys are siblings. Thus, they sleep with them, play with them, and generally spend a great deal of their puppyhood with their toys.
