Just remembered when Matthew nearly took his life because he felt that his death would be less of a burden than his life was for Marilla and Anne and the scene where Jeannie finds him there and she is just softly says his name and rushes to help him back to bed to talk some sense into him and then Marilla is berating him because the amount of fear that she experienced at losing another person in her life and how they all covered it up and the fact that Anne shows up with a big smile on her face seeing Matthew alive and she says, "You're a sight for sore eyes, Mr. Cuthbert" completely unaware of what she almost came home to and it's the one time in her life where she was actually shielded from such a harsh reality now I'm crying
