straight up not true i have spoken to many of the people that have sent me messages and this is a dangerous thing to spread. i won’t deny that there are probably bots but just use common sense. this same post says that the vetting process is just “trust me bro” and that also isn’t true. this post encourages donating to organizations that benefit palestinians instead, and that’s Fine, but to say every single message from an individual is a scam is frankly ridiculous. and harmful

The way black and brown people are treated in fandom spaces is fucking horrific honestly, and people refuse to acknowledge it.

So many white people are so obsessed with the idea of fandom being a Safe Space that they completely disregard POC feelings. They’ll preach that they care about us sooo hard, but as soon as they have to put their money where their mouth is and actually act like they give a fuck, suddenly the Angry POCs are just “starting discourse” and “picking fights” and “ruining the fandom”

If you are told something you think or believe is actually racist and your first response is to fight tooth and fucking nail to defend yourself because you don’t want to have to care, you are racist. If you refuse to listen to POC when we say something or someone in a fandom space is problematic, you are racist. And it is so tiring.

White people will NEVER understand what it feels like to have to constantly defend yourself like this. When a fandom seems perfect and peaceful to YOU, it’s because none of the issues affect you. Being able to live in a blissful existence and forget racism exists so you can have fun with your stupid little fanfics and whitewashed fan art is a privilege not everybody has. Some of us need to be on the defense all the goddamn time just because white people want to “avoid discourse”

Fandoms will NEVER be a safe place for everybody until they stop being a safe place for racists. And that means white people have to start giving a shit about issues that don’t affect them.

like first of all: i get that "i dont incorporate race into my media analysis because i'm afraid of messing up" comes from a different place than "i don't incorporate race into my media analysis because I Don't See Race 😊 there is only The Human Race." but it has the same functional effect, right? that effect being that your analysis of [INSERT MEDIA HERE] ignores the very real way that race impacts people.

second of all: it feels kinda lazy! like ur saying "i dont know enough abt race to feel comfortable commenting on how race affects this show and i dont care enough to learn." the only way to become more comfortable discussing race is to actually practice discussing race. but when i see people saying this it feels like they're saying "i'm white, which means i don't know how to talk about race, and i don't have to know how to talk about race, and i don't ever have to know how to talk about race, so i'm choosing to never learn how to talk about race."

third of all: just because you don't openly talk about race doesn't mean you're any less likely to accidentally say or do something racist. implicit biases run deep, y'all. it's probably already there in your interpretation of the show. but the "i don't want to accidentally say something racist" implies that you are positive that your interpretation of the show isn't racist. and i'm not saying you're wrong. but i'm saying that if a person of color tells you that something you said about [INSERT MEDIA HERE] was racist, you better be prepared to actually listen and not just brush them off because "i can't be racist! i purposefully never talk about race just to make sure i'm not racist!"

which brings me to my final point: if you do accidentally say something racist... literally just apologize. if someone says you've been doing something racist, apologize and stop doing that thing. it's literally not that hard. i've done it. i've seen other people do it. "i'm scared of being called racist!" is such a weak excuse im tired of it. getting called racist is not the end of the fucking world. calm the fuck down and grow a spine. jesus.

YAY IM SO GOOD AT MAKING PEOPLE INTERESTED IN MY LITTLE GUY ..... OKAY SO

hes a priest and part of iscariot , a secret 13th section of the vatican dedicated to hunting the paranormal ^_^ he also runs an orphanage . hes a regenerator , meaning he can basically just heal any wound inflicted on him (unless inflicted by anti-regenerator weaponry , but this only comes in around vol 8) and is presumably immortal . he was made pretty much just to be an enemy for alucard but he gets his own arc too . hes a little freak . in my heart he Is gay (for alucard specifically . theyre very interesting to me) . hes also in the 2001 hellsing show and the anime/ova but hes not really that important in the 2001 show and the ova just follows the manga plot , so ill just use the manga for examples . some panels from the sword dancer (first chapters hes in) arc !

his character arc is centered around humanity . in volumes 1-8 he already has a weird sense of humanity (questionable if regenerators are humans or monsters) but the helena's nail arc/might and magic is where it gets really strong . in might and magic , in an attempt to kill alucard during the millennium war , he takes helena's nail (a nail from jesus' crucifixion) and stabs it through his heart , turning him into a monster of god , basically a shell of himself and god's living weapon . this takes away his immortality though , making him killable by destroying his heart . alucard tears his heart out of his chest and he dies , turning back into himself for a bit and comforting alucard in his last moments (GAY . the whole monsters dont cry scene is so gay and also makes me so normal!) . panels below yet again

theres alot of Themes and symbolism with him but this is just a summary of his character nd arc ^_^ he makes me really really normal

i really don’t love doing this but i’m a trans neurodivergent person and i’ve been unemployed for the last month (after 3 months i was told the job wasn’t a good fit for me after being told i didn’t need to worry) and i’m now in the negative.

if anyone can help even just with getting this out there while i keep looking for new work. and i post this knowing there are people who are in far more dire need that i am at this moment. still, even if you just reblog this it will mean a lot.
