Netflix’s Death Note Live Action Film Received a Good Judgement from its Creators
Other movies like Dragonball Evolution, Ghost in the Shell and Tekken have brought fans to frustrations for their anime adaptations. Netflix now is the newest to try in bringing the Japanese animation to life with Death Note live adaptation.
While Netflix hasn’t provided any information about it, there are some rays of good judgment especially from the creators of Death Note anime. Takeshi Obata and Tsugumi Ohba had a special screening of the film with Netflix’s producer Masi Oka and according to the creators, they love the film.
According to Masi Oka, it was a great opportunity for him to visit Japan and deliver the move to the original creators of Death Nore. In an interview with LRM, Oka stated that it even brought a tear to her eyes because she’s an otaku and a fan just like everyone else.
Synopsis of Death Note
Light Yagami is a genius student with great skills and definitely bored out of his mind. However, things have been changed when he discovered the Death Note, a notebook dropped by a rogue Shinigami death God. Any name who is written in the notebook eventually dies. In this way, Light swore to use the power of the notebook to kills evil person in this world. Will Light succeed on his plan or will the Death Note turn him into the very thing he fights against?
The Trailer
From the Death Note trailer, it seems that it is shaping up to be at least unique. Fans from all over the world will have to save their final say when the film is finally released on Netflix starting on August 25 of this year.

One Piece Manga Now Gets Live Action Hollywood TV Show
As a celebration of the 20th anniversary event revealed last couple of weeks ago that Tomorrow Studios, a collaboration between producer Marty Adelstein from Prison Bean, Teen Wolf and ITV studios, will produce a live action Hollywood TV show of One Piece Manga.
Tomorrow Studios is also producing another live action TV series adaptation of Cowboy Bebop.
One Piece Manga
The One Piece manga focused about Monkey D. Luffy, an influential pirate who dreams of claiming the legendary treasure “One Piece” left by a legendary pirate. He’s not the only one who wants to claim the said treasure. He created a crew and a ship and explores the Grand Line in search for this treasure while also fighting some rival pirates and government navies along the way.
Eiiichiro Oda, the creator of One Piece manga started serializing his works in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine on July 19, 1997. The same company published the manga’s 85th compiled book volume in Japan on May 2. In April, the manga started to produced 350 million copies in print in Japan and 66 million copies outside the country with publications in more than 30 countries. The manga set a world record in June 2015 for having 320,866,000 printed copies worldwide as of December of 2014. The world record gained is for “The most copies published for the same comic book series by a single author.”
Manga Franchise and Publications
The manga has generated a media franchise containing a long running TV anime that started in 1999 such as anime television specials, 13 anime films, video games, novels, toys, theme park attractions, and more. The 4Kids released the TV anime by Toei Animation in 2004 while Funimation Entertainment received the license in 2007. Cartoon Network also started airing the anime on the same year. Adult Swim’s Toonami block the airing of the anime in 2013 and removed it from the scheduled earlier this year in March.
The Viz Media releases the English version in Manga and published the serialized chapters every week during Monday on its English version of Weekly Shonen Jump. The company also published the manga’s compiled book volumes.

Season 2 of Gundam Thunderbolt Gets English Dub
According to Anime Studio Sunrise, they confirmed the second season of the Mobile Suit Gandam Thunderbolt anime will have an English version. The announcement was made at the Gundam Panel located at Anime Expo on Saturday. The Sunrise will be providing the dub track from NYAV post.
As a matter of fact, Sunrise create NYAV post’s dub for Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt: December Sky, the collection of the film from the 1st anime season based on Yasuo Okhtagaki’s manga version. During the Annual Sunrise Festival screening, the English dub will be shown at Tokyo Shinjuku Piccadilly theater that will happen on August 15, 2017. Moreover, according to Sunrise, the English dubbed screening in Japan will consist of special guests.
Gundam Thunderbolt
The first season of Gundam Thunderbolt starting streaming in December 2015. The 4th and last episode stated streaming in April 2016. The Right Stuf company released the import edition to Blu-Ray Disk of Mobile Suit Gandam Thunderbold: December Sky with both English and Japanese audio tracks last year of July.
While the second season of the anime launched with the 5th episode on March 24, 2017. The 6th episode released on April 28 while the 7th episode released on May 31, 2017. The 8th episode will be featured on July 14, 2017. The episodes will be available via EST (Electronic Sell Through) service that allows people to download the film through a TVOD (Transactional Video on Demand) service. It also allows rental viewing for a set period.
