"Jayce⊠donât piss me off," you mumbled groggily, swatting at the air as you turned away from the light creeping in through the curtains. Your brother had this awful habit of waking you up early, and this time, it was no different. You groaned as you felt the edge of his foot on your nightstand, a clear sign that he wasnât planning to leave until you gave him the attention he craved.
"Please, sis. Just tell me if they go good with my outfit. It's my junior year. I gotta look fresh," Jayce said, his voice high-pitched and over-the-top, just the way it always was when he was seeking validation.
You blinked open one eye, then the other, squinting up at him. The sight of his goofy grinâcomplete with his messy hairâdid nothing to help the headache that was already forming. He was holding a pair of sneakers in one hand, his new must-have shoes for the school year.
You rubbed your eyes and sighed, giving him the most unimpressed look you could muster. "Yeah, Jayce. You look good," you said flatly, trying to roll over and go back to sleep.
But Jayce, of course, wasnât done. He let out an exaggerated sigh and plopped down on the edge of your bed, his body taking up far too much space. "Donât go back to sleep, câmon! Itâs your first day here at NYU. You gotta make a statement," he said, wiggling his eyebrows, clearly proud of his well-meaning, annoying attempt to motivate you.
You cracked open an eye again, giving him a deadpan stare. "I donât want to hear it, Jayce. Youâre lucky Iâm even awake right now."
Jayce chuckled, nudging you lightly with his foot. "Get up, you lazy bum. I need to know if this shirt works with my new kicks or not. Itâs important!"
You sighed, sitting up slowly, still trying to shake off the remnants of sleep. Looking at himâhis eager face, his ridiculous outfitâwasnât helping your mood. You glanced at his sneakers, then his shirt, then his whole vibe. Jayce looked like he was trying way too hard to impress everyone on his first day back. He had his typical âIâm coolâ swagger on display, and you werenât sure if you should laugh or just roll your eyes harder.
"Yeah, Jayce. You look good," you muttered, not really caring but knowing that was the answer he wanted to hear.
Jayce leaned in closer, his face inches from yours, all dramatic as he asked, "Really? I mean, really? You sure about that? âCause I need you to be my fashion consultant today."
You shook your head, not even bothering to reply to his antics. You were too tired for this. But he wasnât backing down. He was, after all, Jayceâa master at annoying people to no end.
"Donât make me get Mom on the phone, you know sheâs got the best opinions," he teased, but you could hear the hint of excitement in his voice. He wasnât just annoying you for attention; he genuinely seemed to need your approval.
You shot him a glare. "If you donât stop, Iâll tell Mom youâve been wearing the same pair of socks for two days."
Jayceâs grin faltered, just for a second, before he playfully shoved your shoulder. "Low blow, sis. Low blow."
Finally, you could hear him sigh in defeat. "Fine. Iâm leaving, Iâm leaving. Get up, though! Or I swear, Iâll drag you out of bed myself."
You stared at him as he got up and headed toward the door, but not without another remark. "Oh, and don't even think about that raggedy bus today. Weâre taking my car. And you're making a statement whether you like it or not."
The door clicked shut behind him, and for a moment, there was silenceâglorious silence.
You glanced at the time on your phone. 5:47 AM. With a groan, you threw the covers off and rolled out of bed.
The thought of the first day at NYU made your stomach churn with nerves, but you couldn't show it. Not after all the teasing and endless talk of âmaking a statementâ from your brother. You needed to at least pretend like you had it all together. So, with a loud sigh, you shuffled into the bathroom for a shower, hoping the cold water would wake you up enough to deal with the day ahead.
As you stood under the stream of water, you tried to clear your head. You'd never been one for drama, but here you were, starting college at one of the most prestigious schools in the country. It was supposed to be exciting. New people, new opportunities, new everything. But you couldnât shake the feeling that you were stepping into something much bigger than you were ready for.
Still, there was no turning back now.
You had spent your freshman and sophomore years in Italy, a place you quickly grew to love. It was a dream come trueâwalking cobblestone streets, sipping espresso in tiny cafes, and studying architecture and art history in a country that felt alive with culture and tradition. At first, you were nervous about being so far from home, but Italy embraced you with open arms, and soon, it felt more like home than New York ever had.
The plan had been simple: you would study abroad, and Jayce would come with you. Your mom had made it clear that he had the option to join you. âThink about it,â your mom had said, âtwo years of sibling bonding while experiencing a whole new world.â But, of course, Jayce had shrugged it off.
"Pass," he'd said without hesitation. "All my friends are here. Plus, who's gonna keep the soccer team alive without me?"
Youâd rolled your eyes when he said it, but deep down, his refusal stung. He didnât even consider it. And as much as you hated to admit it, part of you had wanted him there. Sure, he was annoying and constantly in your space, but he was also your big brotherâthe one who always knew how to make you laugh when you were stressed, the one who looked out for you when no one else did. Without him, you felt a little more alone than you were ready to admit.
But Italy had been a journey all its own. Youâd found your rhythm there, made lifelong friends, and grown in ways you never expected. You learned to navigate bustling markets in Florence, spent lazy afternoons sketching by the canals in Venice, and even picked up enough Italian to argue with locals over gelato flavors. It wasnât just a study abroad experience; it was a transformation.
Then, two years flew by faster than you thought they would. And just like that, it was time to say goodbye to everything youâd built in Italy. The narrow alleyways you knew like the back of your hand, the corner cafe where the barista always greeted you with a warm "Ciao, bella," and the friends who had become family. It wasnât easy leaving it all behind, but the opportunity to finish your degree in New York on a full-ride scholarship was too good to pass up.
There was one silver lining to returning home: Ekko. Your best friend since middle school. Heâd been the one constant in your life before you left for Italy, and as much as you loved your new friends abroad, no one quite compared to Ekko. He was like a brother to you, but cooler than Jayce ever could beânot that youâd ever tell Jayce that to his face.
Ekko was in New York with a full ride scholarship majoring in Engineering, balancing school with being on the soccer team alongside Jayce. The two of them had always been close, despite being complete opposites. Jayce was loud, confident, and always seeking the spotlight, while Ekko was more laid-back and analytical, content to let his skills speak for themselves. The idea of seeing them againâespecially Ekkoâwas one of the few things keeping you grounded as you prepared to face New York after two years away.
After your last class wrapped up, you decided to head over to the campus coffee shop to grab something to eat. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee and baked goods hit you as soon as you walked in. You ordered an iced coffee and a bagel sandwich before making your way outside, where small tables with umbrellas dotted the courtyard.
Finding an empty table near the edge of the patio, you set your things down and took a seat. The campus buzzed around you as students chatted or hurried to their next destination. Sipping your coffee, you opened your book and began reading while occasionally taking bites of your sandwich.
As you lost yourself in the story, two hands suddenly grabbed your shoulders, making you jolt and nearly drop your sandwich. Your head whipped around, your heart racing, only to be met with a familiar faceâEkko.
âHolyâEkko!â you exclaimed, standing up with a wide grin.
He laughed, his grin just as big as yours. âSurprise!â
Without hesitation, you threw your arms around him, hugging him tightly. âI missed you so much,â you said, your voice muffled against his shoulder.
âMissed you too,â Ekko said, his arms wrapping around you firmly. After a moment, he pulled back slightly, his hands resting on your shoulders as he took a good look at you.
You twirled around dramatically, giving him a full view of your outfit. His brows shot up in surprise as he took it all in. âDamn⊠Italy changed you in more ways than one. What happened to my (Y/N) who wore oversized hoodies and partied like a rockstar every other weekend?â
You smirked, crossing your arms. âSheâs dead, but I still love a good party,â you quipped.
Ekko leaned casually against the wall, his arms crossed and a playful smirk on his face. âThereâs gonna be a first-day bonfire tonight. Good music, new faces, andâŠâ he paused for effect, ââŠCaitlyn Kiramman, the cheer captain, might be there. You could ask her about whether thereâs a chance youâre on the team since you submitted that video for tryouts.â
Your face lit up with excitement. âYou always come in clutch,â you said with a grin. âOnly if youâre taking me, though.â
Ekko shook his head, his smirk turning into a sheepish grin. âCanât. Iâve got a date for the bonfire.â
You raised an eyebrow, intrigued. âAw, really? Whoâs the lucky girl?â
âA girl named Jinx. Sheâs in most of my classes. Thought she was cute, so I asked her out,â he said, shrugging like it was no big deal. âShe surprisingly said yes.â
âSurprisingly?â you teased, folding your arms and leaning toward him. âPlease, Ekko, youâve got more game than you think. Good for you, seriously.â
He chuckled, his cheeks dusted with a hint of pink. âThanks, I guess. What about you? Got your eye on any girls here yet?â
You grinned mischievously, your voice dripping with confidence. âAlways.â
Ekko leaned in slightly, his eyebrows raised. âOh, really?â he asked teasingly.
âYup. Vi,â you said with no hesitation. âSheâs really hotâpink hair, tattoos on her back. God, I would love to take a ride on hââ
âOh, fuck no,â Ekko interrupted, his voice sharp as his expression shifted to something between disbelief and warning.
You blinked, startled by his sudden tone. âWhat?!â
Ekko groaned, running a hand down his face. âSheâs a player, (Y/N). I should know. Sheâs on the soccer team with Jayce. Donât mess with herâyouâll get hurt. Real shit.â
You frowned, confused by his sudden seriousness. âWhat are you talking about? She seemed fine when I talked to her earlier.â
He pushed off the wall and crossed his arms again, his expression dark. âIâve seen it happen. Sheâs got game, yeah, but not the kind you want. I donât like the way she moves. I used to hang out with her, but I stopped for a reason. The only time Iâm even around her is when Jayce is.â
You huffed, crossing your arms. âOkay, but maybe sheâs different now.â
Ekko narrowed his eyes at you, unimpressed. âLook, Iâm just sayingâdonât let her mess with your head, (Y/N). Youâre better than that. JustâŠbe careful, okay?â
You rolled your eyes, though a small part of you appreciated his concern. âFine, Dad.â
When you got home, Ekkoâs warning was the last thing on your mind. Vi was texting you, and there was no way you were going to ignore her. She was too hot not to respond to. Balancing your bag on your shoulder and your coffee cup in one hand, you pushed the door shut with your foot. As soon as the door clicked behind you, you checked your phone again, a grin spreading across your face as you read her latest message.
Heading upstairs, you scrolled through the playful back-and-forth between you and Vi, feeling giddy. The attention she was giving you was addictive. You were so lost in the conversation that you didnât notice Jayce stepping out of the bathroom until you nearly bumped into him.
He stood there with a towel slung around his waist, droplets of water still clinging to his skin. He raised an eyebrow as he noticed the stupid grin on your face. âThe fuck are you smiling about, dopey?â he teased, crossing his arms over his chest. âYou look a little too gay right now.â
You rolled your eyes and brushed past him. âHa, ha, hilarious,â you muttered, holding your phone a little closer as you tried to move toward your room.
But Jayce wasnât going to let it go. He reached over and snatched the phone right out of your hand.
âJayce! What the fuck!â you yelped, spinning around and reaching for it.
Jayce held it out of your reach, laughing as he glanced at the screen. But his laughter quickly died when he saw the name at the top of the conversation. His eyebrows shot up in disbelief. âYouâre fucking around with Vi?â he asked, his tone dripping with judgment.
âItâs the first day, so not yet, clearly,â you snapped, grabbing your phone back with an irritated glare.
Before you could retreat to your room, Jayce stepped in front of you, blocking your path. His expression shifted to something more serious, almost protective. âWhatever youâre doing with her, stop. Sheâs a close friend of mine, and she gets around, (Y/N). Itâll be awkward as hell, and on top of that, Iâm not trying to get embarrassed by you.â
You rolled your eyes, brushing past him. âWhatever,â you muttered dismissively, though his words stung.
Jayce didnât move from where he stood, following you with his eyes as you turned toward the stairs. âHey, wait. Are you going to the bonfire tonight?â
You stopped and turned to face him. âYeah, Ekko has a date, so I need a ride. Can you take me? Mom and Dad still havenât gotten me a car yet, so Iâm stuck.â
Jayce shook his head immediately, folding his arms again. âOh, youâre not going. No way. Viâs gonna be there, and thatâs officially off fucking limits.â
Your jaw dropped in disbelief. âWhat? What the fuck, Jayce! I canât even go socialize?â
Jayce gave you a hard look. âYouâre not going to socialize, (Y/N). I know how you are when it comes to alcohol andâŠother shit. Or do I need to call Mom and tell her you need to go back to Italy after I let you relapse?â
His words hit you like a slap. Your stomach dropped as anger flared in your chest, and your eyes burned with unshed tears. âFuck you, Jayce,â you said, your voice trembling with a mix of rage and hurt. âWhat a low blow.â
You yanked your arm out of his grip and stormed up the stairs, slamming your bedroom door shut behind you. You locked it for good measure, leaning against it as hot tears began to roll down your cheeks.
Outside the door, Jayceâs voice softened, guilt creeping into his tone. âWait, sis⊠I didnât mean it seriously,â he said, knocking lightly.
You didnât respond. You couldnât even look at him right now.
When it became clear you werenât going to answer, Jayce sighed. âLet me know if you want anything to eat when I get back,â he said quietly before walking away. The sound of his footsteps faded down the hall, leaving you alone with your thoughts.
While you sat on your bed, still upset over the argument with Jayce, your phone buzzed. You glanced at it, and your heart skipped a beat when you saw it was a text from Vi.
Vi: Are you coming to the bonfire party? I wanna see you.
You hesitated for a moment before typing back.
You: Canât. My brotherâs not letting me go. And I donât have a car. He was my only ride.
Her reply came almost instantly.
Vi: Well, I have a car. Give me your location and get ready. Iâll pick you up, beautiful.
A grin spread across your face despite everything, and you quickly sent her your location. Tossing your phone onto the bed, you sprang up and went straight to your closet. You scanned your options until you finally settled on a black fitted mini-dress paired with, a denim jacket draped off your shoulders, and chunky black boots. The look was edgy yet flirtyâperfect for a night out.
You glanced in the mirror and realized your makeup was a mess from crying. Grabbing a makeup wipe, you cleaned up the smudges, reapplying your eyeliner and lipstick carefully. After smoothing out your hair and giving yourself one last look-over, your phone buzzed again.
âIâm parked outside the complex,â the text read.
âShit,â you muttered, scrambling to find a cute bag. You tossed your phone, keys, wallet, and lip gloss inside, then rushed out the door.
As you left your apartment complex, you gave the doorman a quick wave. âGoodnight!â you called, like always.
âHave fun!â he replied with a knowing smile.
Outside, a sleek car idled by the curb. You spotted Vi leaning against the driverâs side, her pink hair glowing under the streetlights. She grinned when she saw you, and as soon as you slid into the passenger seat, she leaned over and kissed you.
You froze for a second, caught off guard, but then you melted into the kiss, returning it shyly. When she pulled back, her smirk was devilish.
âNice place you live at,â she said, glancing at the complex as she started driving. âA friend of mine stays in one of these apartments. You must have a lot of money to live here.â
You shrugged, trying to play it cool. âYeah, I guess you could say that.â
Vi gave you a quick side glance, her smile softening. âWell, good for me. I like spoiled girls,â she teased.
As soon as you and Vi stepped onto the sandy beach where the bonfire party was in full swing, she casually draped an arm around your shoulders, pulling you in close. The heat of the fire reflected in her smirk as she held you there like she had no care in the world.
Immediately, you pulled away, glancing around to make sure no oneâespecially your brotherâhad noticed. âStop,â you hissed, swatting at her arm. âYouâre going to blow my cover. Iâm not even supposed to be here, remember?â
Vi chuckled, stuffing her hands in the pockets of her ripped jeans, clearly enjoying your paranoia. âFine, fine,â she relented. âBut text me when youâre ready to leave.â
âWhere are you going?â you asked, raising an eyebrow.
âIâm gonna go find Jayce and keep him occupied,â she said with a smirk, already scanning the crowd. âDonât worry, princess. I got you.â
âCool,â you said with a nod before slipping away from her, weaving through the bodies of drunken students and the glow of the bonfireâs flickering flames.
Your eyes darted across the party until they landed on Ekko. He was in the middle of a crowd, dancing with a girl who had strikingly light blue hair, her movements wild and carefree as they swayed to the music.
âHey, Ekko!â you called out over the sound of the music.
Ekko turned his head at the sound of your voice, a grin forming when he spotted you pushing through the crowd toward him. â(Y/N)!â He gestured for you to come closer. âThis is Jinx. Jinx, this is (Y/N), my best friend since middle school.â
You smiled, sticking out a hand for her to shake. âItâs nice to meet you.â
Instead of shaking your hand, Jinxâs face lit up, and she immediately pulled you into a tight hug. âSorry, but Iâm a hugger, girl,â she said, squeezing you before letting go. âAnd middle school? Thatâs so adorable!â
You chuckled. âYep. We used to do chemistry projects together in high school and blow shit up. My parents had to pay millions.â
Ekko laughed, shaking his head. âYup, we were menaces,â he agreed, nudging you playfully.
Jinx grinned, eyes flickering between the two of you. âI like you already.â
The party was loud, the music pulsing through the air as laughter and shouts filled the night. You were mid-conversation with Jinx when suddenly, a random frat guy shoved an opened Cayman Jack into your hands. The condensation from the bottle chilled your skin as you instinctively curled your fingers around it.
âChug, pretty thang,â he slurred, grinning like he had just offered you the holy grail.
âOh, um⊠no, itâs okay. Iâm taking a break from drinking,â you said, trying to hand it back to him.
Instead of taking the rejection, he popped the cap off with his thumb and shoved it back toward you, his eyes wild with excitement. âChug!â he chanted.
At first, it was just him, but soon, others joined in, the word picking up like a wave, echoing louder and louder around you. "Chug! Chug! Chug!"
Ekko shot you a worried look, his lips parting as if he was about to intervene, but before he could, the pressure of a dozen eyes on youâwaiting, watching, expectingâbecame too much. Without thinking, you tilted your head back and downed the entire drink, the carbonation burning your throat, the alcohol hitting your stomach like a rock.
âThere, happy?â you said, shoving the now-empty can into the frat guyâs chest.
He let out a cheer, eyes gleaming with drunken satisfaction. Then, in a final act of bravado, he crushed the can against his forehead with a loud crack and stumbled off into the crowd.
Ekkoâs hand was on your shoulder in an instant, his grip firm but gentle. âFuckâŠâ you muttered, your stomach twisting. Your fingers trembled slightly, your body already remembering the ghosts of your past. âI havenât had a drink since IâŠâ
Ekko rubbed your shoulder reassuringly. âIâll get you some water.â His voice was calm, but you saw the worry in his eyes. He turned to Jinx. âWatch her for me?â
Jinx gave a quick nod, her face uncharacteristically serious.
Ekko disappeared into the crowd, leaving you standing there with the taste of alcohol still lingering on your tongue.
âWhatâs wrong?â Jinx asked, tilting her head.
âIâI justâŠâ Your voice faltered.
Before you could finish, a voice sliced through the noise, sharp and furious.
âWhat the fuck are you doing here?â
Your stomach dropped. You turned to see Jayce standing a few feet away, his face twisted with anger, his fists clenched at his sides.
âIâm just hanging out, Jayce,â you said, trying to keep your voice even.
Jayce scoffed, stepping closer. â(Y/N), I can smell the alcohol on your breath.â His eyes darkened, his voice tight with frustration. âShit, dudeânot even a whole two weeks and youâre already relapsing?â
Your throat tightened. âIâm not relapsing. I was just pressured into taking a drink by those stupid frat boys,â you argued.
âBullshit,â Jayce snapped.
Ekko returned just in time, a bottle of water in his hand, but he barely had time to process what was happening before Jayce was right in your face again.
You barely heard him, your mind spiraling as the weight of his words sank in.
Yes, you were an addict in high school.
After your dadâs death, you took it harder than anyone else in your family. You fell in with the wrong people, numbing the pain however you could. The night you overdosed, you had been left in an alley, a needle in your arm, your body convulsing, vomiting, barely clinging to life.
Your mother couldnât handle it anymore.
Instead of sending you to rehab, she sent you to Italyâfar away, somewhere new, somewhere she hoped you could start over. And you did. You got therapy. You worked on yourself. You fixed yourself.
But now, standing here with Jayce looking at you like you were a failure, it felt like all that progress meant nothing.
His next words shattered whatever was left of your resolve.
âGo home,â he said coldly. âI donât care how you get homeâjust go.â
Then, without waiting for a response, he turned and walked away, leaving you standing there, your vision blurring with tears.
Ekkoâs hand found yours, squeezing it gently. âCome on. Iâll take you home.â
Jinx nodded, stepping closer. âYeah, Iâll come too.â
You swallowed hard, forcing down the lump in your throat. âThanks. Justâlet me say goodbye to someone first.â
Ekko nodded. âCool. Weâll wait by the car.â
He took Jinxâs hand, leading her toward the parking lot, leaving you alone in the middle of the party, feeling like the ground beneath you was slowly cracking apart.
You pushed through the crowd, weaving between sweaty, drunken bodies, the pulse of the music thrumming in your ears. The fire in the middle of the yard crackled, casting flickering orange light over the partygoers gathered around it. Your breath was shallow as you scanned the area, searching for Vi.
And then you saw her.
She was standing by the fire, her red hair illuminated by the flames, her toned arms flexing slightly as she laughed at something. But she wasnât alone.
A girl with long blue hair stood closeâtoo close. She traced her fingers up and down Viâs arm, her nails dragging over the inked skin like she had every right to touch her. Vi smirked, that signature, cocky grin that made your heart race earlier in the night. But now, it only made your stomach twist.
Then, before you could even process what was happening, Vi grabbed the girl by the waist and pulled her in. Their lips crashed together in a deep, messy kissânot just a casual peck, not like the ones you and Vi had shared. This was something more. Their bodies were flush, Viâs hands gripping the girlâs hips, their mouths moving like theyâd done this before.
You felt a lump in your throat, but not because you were heartbroken. No, this wasnât heartbreak. It was disappointment.
Because everyone was right.
Vi was a player. A flirt. She wasnât the kind of girl to settle downânot even for you.
Without a second thought, you turned away, pushing through the crowd with more force this time, ignoring the people who grumbled or stumbled in your wake. Vi didnât even see you.
By the time you reached the car, Ekko and Jinx were already waiting.
âYou good?â Ekko asked as you slid into the backseat.
You didnât answer. You just stared out the window, watching as buildings and trees blurred past. The streetlights flickered across your face, casting shadows that stretched and disappeared.
You didnât cry.
You didnât even feel angry.
You just felt disgusted.
For the first time in two years, that familiar, suffocating feeling crept back inâthe one that made your skin crawl, the one that made you want to disappear.

prologue: party people
âââ â
„ IT STARTS WITH A GAME of spin the bottle â a college party post-game, the home team the exhalant victors, the crowds of adoring fans the worshippers at their beer-tower altars, doing keg stands and shot-gunning cans of cheap bud lite for an approving grin or a wink.
âRemind me why weâre here again?â you ask, jerking back as a drunken guy nearly topples into you, the red solo cup in his hand sloshing over onto the already sticky linoleum floor.
Mel sighs, âBecause, darling, you promised me that youâd come out at least once if me and Jayce made it through the Challenger Series this year.â
She tugs you behind her, weaving through the crush of bodies till the cramped living room area opens onto a much larger patio, the mid-autumn chill cooling your skin.
âIt was a joke,â you say, whining slightly even as Mel grabs what looks like an unopened hard cider from the table and presses it into your hand.
âYes, and one that hurt my feelings,â Mel sniffs, turning her nose up, though a grin teases at her lips, âso to make up for it, you now have to stay at this party and have some semblance of a good time.â
And that was three and a half drinks ago, because sometime between then and now, youâve found yourself pulled into an unwitting game of spin the bottle with what seems like half the entire hockey team, sitting next to Mel, her boyfriend Jayce on your other side, chatting animatedly with one of the girls hockey girls. You overhear the words âcreatinâ and âBulgarian Squatâ and decided that itâs time for you to tune out of the conversation.
âVi, itâs your turn!â
Vi, your thoughts linger over the sound.
Itâs a pretty name.
You glance up at the girl sitting across from you, Number Six â youâve always known her as that, what with the tattoo on her cheek (there were rumors that itâs actually not real and she just reapplies one of those temporary tattoos every two weeks) and the fact that itâs her jersey number, itâs really not too hard to remember.
âYeah, yeah,â she says, laughing as she reaches for the empty beer bottle in the middle of the circle. Her right handâs bandaged up and you canât help staring at it. When you look up next, itâs to catch her watching you, your eyes meeting in a startling clash of raw contact â the cacophonous noise of the party dulling out to a thin whine somewhere at the back of your head as you stare at her and she stares right back.
Youâd never noticed that her eyes, even in the dark, beneath the dim, flickering patio lights, reads mourning-dove blue, so subtle itâs almost gray, so sharp as she takes you in that your stomach drops from inside you. She smirks and twists her fingers expertly around the bottle, setting it whizzing.
You tear your eyes away, your breath sent astray in your chest by just that look alone. You frown at the spinning bottle, your mind abuzz with fragmentary thoughts you canât quite string along for long enough to form a full sentence â eyes⊠her lips are pretty⊠wasnât she dating⊠someone? who??? whatâs her name again? something pretty â
ââ right, ice princess, you ready?â
âHuh?â you jerk your eyes up from the bottle to find everyone watching you. From your left, Mel nudges you with a sanctimonious grin, her eyes flickering down to the bottle and back up towards â
âGo on!â she hisses, even as you blink uncomprehendingly down at the bottle pointing right at you.
Across the circle, Viâs questioning smirk is all the answer you need as your alcohol-addled brain finally puts together the pieces.
âR-rightâŠâ you push up onto your knees, but something holds you back, a niggling feeling in the back of your brain as Viâs smirk grows wide and she jerks her head towards the living room.
âWant a bit of privacy? Or⊠would you prefer an audience?â
Half the circle wolf-whistles at the insinuation, the other half roll their eyes, leaning back on their elbows as if to settle in for a long night.
You lick your lips, feeling your mouth scald dry.
âPrivacy. Please.â
You follow Vi stiffly from the patio back into the stuffy house, her fingers closing around your wrist as she tugs you behind her through a long hallway splitting off from the main living room, branching into a series of what look like bedrooms. Half the doors are closed, illicit sounds echoing out from behind them, but Vi finds an empty one near the end of the hallway and pushes it open, leading you inside.
âOh wow,â you say, looking around the room. Itâs a typical fratboyâs room, full of suggestive posters, the floor littered with questionably laundered clothes.
âWhat, not your ideal setting for a makeout-sesh with a stranger?â
You frown as your eyes slingshot back to Vi, her standing feet from you, hands tucked loosely into her pockets, watching you with dark, firefly eyes.
âThought we were just supposed to kiss once.â
Vi chuckles, closing the distance between you in a few quick strides, crowding you up against the closed door.
âSure. We can do that. OrâŠâ she makes no effort to hide the way her eyes flicker down to your lips, trailing back up in a line of fire that sizzles against your skin. âI could show you what a real good time looks like.â
Your breath crystalizes in your chest, and the strange, tickling feeling traces down the back of your head till it gathers, hot and unconscionable at the nape of your neck â a spin-click wheel of half-formed thoughts and images ticking by behind your eyelids as you try to remember why the hell this feels so wrong.
And then, it clicks, and you press a hand to Viâs chest just as sheâs leaning down to graze her lips against yours, the friction so delicious you almost lose your train of thought.
âA-are you sure this is a good idea? Didnât you just break up with that track and field girl? Caitlyn?â you blurt out, a culmination of all the snippets of whispered conversations and half-caught glances of the pair of them across campus. The It-Girl Couple, people called them, the hockey team star and the track and field genius. They were hard to miss, and even harder to forget.
A moth-wing-flicker of emotions crosses Viâs face as she takes half a step back, her expression morphing into one of shock, and then hurt, and finally, hard-lined disgust as she looks down at you with a thin-lipped grimace.
âOh fuck you.â
She yanks you from the door, storming out without a backwards glance. You catch yourself against the half-made bed, your breath coming in heaving pants as your head spins. Guilt curdles in the bed of your stomach like spoilt milk, and it only takes you half a second to realize that of all the things to say, that probably was the worst possible choice.
Youâd heard mention of the breakup, even if you didnât have any stakes in this so-called game. It was harsh and messy and loud, and it had spilled across campus like a backed-up toilet, oozing foulness and stank across the grounds till not a single person was left unstained in the aftermath.
âWait ââ you stumble after Vi, but itâs too late. By the time you reach the patio doors, sheâs already settling back into her place in the circle, an easy grin slung across her lips.
You swallow, pushing through the door to scurry over to Melâs side. Mel beams at the flush in your cheeks, convinced (just like the rest of the circle) that itâd been one hell of a kiss, judging by how entirely breathless you are.
âDamn Vi, you gotta learn how to go easy on them figure skaters, hm?â Margot smirks, her eyes glittering as she looks you over, âlook at the poor darling â she can barely breathe!â
Everyone laughs, and Vi flashes a convincingly satisfied smirk, shrugging up a shoulder. You glance at her, only to shiver at the arctic ice behind her gaze as your eyes catch once more.
âWhat can I say? Easy isnât a setting I come programmed with.â
You duck your head as Vi casts you one more frigid look before turning to laugh at something a teammate has just said, and the circle devolves into good-natured banter and pocket conversations. You gulp around your too-dry throat and pluck Melâs drink from her hand, tossing the rest of it back in a single gulp. She blinks at you, eyes wide.
âDarling, are you ââ
âI â Iâm fine just â itâs â I think Iâm gonna head back.â
Mel frowns, âAre you sure? I mean ââ she looks towards where Viâs been pulled into an impromptu arm-wrestling match with some dude from the football team, âyou could try and ââ
You shake your head, âNo, I â I think Iâm good. I had a good time, I just ââ you run a hand through your hair, âIâve got practice tomorrow and Amaraâs gonna murder me if I get there late.â
Mel stares for a second before relenting, a soft sigh on her lips.
âAlright, alright â go on then. Iâll⊠Iâll see you tomorrow at practice, yes?â
You give her a tight-lipped smile, reaching out for a quick hug before ducking out of the party, skirting the edges of the growing mosh pit forming in the living room till you finally find yourself out on the front steps again.
You close your eyes for a second, pressing your back to the frat house door, feeling the dull thump of the music inside reverberating through the thin wooden frame as you breathe in and out.
You can still taste the heat of Viâs breath on your lips, feel harsh sting of ice as sheâd caught your eyes after. The chill air, once refreshing, pebbles your skin and an involuntary shiver shakes down your spine. You wrap your arms around yourself and give your head a good shake.
Whatever, you think, stepping off the porch, casting your eyes up at the star-strewn sky, a whisp of warm breath fogging up the air before you.
Not like itâll matter. Bet she wonât even remember me after tonight.

New habits to adopt in 2025
Time Management
Time is your most valuable resource. This year, try dividing your day into focused blocks:
Creation time: Work on your projects with intensity and zero distractions.
Authentic rest time: Turn off your phone, read a book, or simply enjoy doing nothing.
Connection time: Dedicate exclusive moments to connect with loved onesâno multitasking!
Improve your sleep habits
Itâs not just about sleeping 8 hours, itâs about sleeping well! Create a ritual before bed:
Turn off screens 1 hour before sleeping.
Write in a gratitude journal to clear your mind.
Use essential oils like lavender or practice deep breathing exercises.
Embrace Mental Minimalism
Do a âdeclutterâ of your mind:
Cut back on unnecessary commitments.
Use ânoâ as a tool for self-care.
Use apps or tools to stay organized, but donât let them dominate your life.
Learn Something New Every Month
Wellness also means growing intellectually. 2025 is the year to step out of your comfort zone! Learn:
A new language.
A fresh recipe.
A breathing or mindfulness technique you didnât know before.
Connect with Nature
You donât have to wait for vacations to touch base with the earth. Incorporate small moments:
Plant something in your home.
Walk barefoot on the grass.
Watch the sunrise or sunset
Cultivate Conscious Relationships
Surround yourself with people who uplift you. Dedicate time to meaningful and authentic conversations. A good exercise:
Ask someone how theyâre really feeling and listen without interruptions.
Do a Weekly Emotional Check-Up
Just as you check your physical health, check your emotions. Ask yourself:
What made me happy this week?
What caused me stress or sadness, and how can I improve it?
BONUS: Be Kind to Yourself
Remember: youâre a human being in constant evolution. Celebrate your achievements, big and small âš

Become Your Dream Girl in 2025

Defining your dream girl persona
The first step into becoming your dream girl is to have a clear picture of her in your mind. Imagine her life in detail; her aesthetic, her habits, and even her energy. This is the time to get specific.
Visualization Exercise: Sit in a quiet space, close your eyes, and visualize your dream girl persona. How does she dress? What places does she visit? What are her priorities and goals? Let yourself feel her confidence, luxury, and elegance.
Create a Vision Board: Gather photos, quotes, fabrics, and colors that represent this version of you. A physical board can go in your room or closet. It can even be a mini collage you can put on your driver's side mirror in your car. The goal is to see your dream girl's life as real and achievable.
Setting New Year Goals
Your dream girl's life needs structure, so let's break down goals into categories and map out the steps to make it happen.
Categorize Your Goals: List your goals under personal growth, style & beauty, health & wellness, and career & financial. For example, under "Health & Wellness", you might set a goal to try Pilates or to cook more at home.
Monthly Check-Ins: As you go through the year, check in with your goals to celebrate your wins, and adjust as needed. This keeps your transformation on track.

Mindset Makeover
Confidence & Self-Worth
Your dream girl is confident, magnetic, and knows her worth. Let's build those habits and thoughts that help you embody that energy daily.
Positive Affirmations: Every time you look in the mirror, say things like "I am worth everything good that can happen to me" or any affirmation that you feel suits you best.
Confidence Rituals: Small, daily actions add up to huge shifts in confidence. Make it a habit to dress up on casual days, speak kindly to yourself, and embrace good posture.
Let Go of Insecurities: Identify any insecurities and practice reframing them. Instead of "I wish I was more confident", say "I am becoming more confident every day". Over time, you'll notice how these subtle shifts impact your self-worth.
Mindset for Success
Your dream girl is resilient and always growing, so let's make success part of your mindset.
Growth Mindset: View challenges as chances to learn, whether it's a career move, a new hobby, or even a social situation.
Visualizing Success: Each morning, spend a few minutes visualizing yourself living your dream life. This will keep you focused and motivated.
Morning & Evening Routines: Start each day with intention by setting small goals and expressing gratitude. At night, reflect on the day and celebrate your wins; even the small ones.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/5ea27ccc7ba197d60a475daef27a0e91/43a4ab9d4b755bc8-7f/s540x810/564a6bb4c1ebd9bd7b884946fffb02cb07576e03.jpg)
Social Life & Relationships
Social confidence comes from feeling at ease in your own skin.
Elegant Etiquette: Show appreciation with thank you notes, and make an effort to remember names. The vibe for 2025 is to go for traditional, rather than modern. Think classic early 1920's-1950's Hollywood.
Curate Your Circle: Surround yourself with supportive, inspiring friends who uplift you. Leave the ones who don't elevate themselves or try to keep you behind.
Networking Lifestyle: Turn social gatherings into chances to meet like-minded people and to elevate your circle.
(Dating) Standards First: Don't settle; know what you deserve in a partner and communicate it confidently.
(Dating) Playful Energy: Be confident, flirty, and assertive (with yourself, not them). Stay in your feminine energy and let them earn your time and attention.
(Dating) Relationship Goals: Keep dates special and playful. Dress up, go out, and enjoy yourself.
Finances & Career Goals
Your dream girl values luxury, but also financial security. Your career is part of your dream girl identity, so elevate it.
Budgeting: Set aside money for luxuries and self-investment, but keep savings in mind.
Multiple Income Streams: Consider side hustles that align with your lifestyle.
Savings Goals: Whether it's for a designer bag, a trip, or just building wealth, make sure your goals are concrete.
Luxury Workspace: Make your workspace a vibe with candles, flowers, and chic decor.
Network for Success: Connect with mentors and people who inspire you.
Grow with Intention: Set milestones in your career or business, and keep pushing for the next level.

![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/d2213487eaa6477aba0f05455aaa9fe6/43a4ab9d4b755bc8-d9/s540x810/142d2a2c9bad4c6171fecdd25d56999eb0ef22de.jpg)
Health & Wellness
Your body is the vessel of your dream girl, so let's treat it with love and care. Mental clarity and peace are essential for dream girl energy; so let's focus on overall wellness this year.
Exercise: Try Pilates or Barre classes for a toned, elegant look. If that's not your thing, find workouts that create your dream body.
Healthy Eating: Focus on whole foods, lots of veggies, and drink tons of water.
Weekly Reset: Plan a mini detox day where you relax, hydrate, and reset for the week.
Mindfulness Practice: Try a short meditation or breathing exercise every morning.
Stress Relief: Whether it's a quick walk, journaling, or a creative outlet, find a stress relief that's all you.
Boundaries: Say no when needed, and make sure your energy is protected.
Beauty & Style Upgrade
First, a dream girl has that glow, and it all starts with a skincare routine that feels luxurious. You also need to find a style that captures your dream girl vibe, and commit to curating it. Then, you need to develop habits that will help you better your appearance.
Simple Skincare Routine (For Starters): Start with a cleanser for your skin type, followed by a hydrating toner, a serum (like Vitamin C for brightness), moisturizer, and SPF.
Luxury Treatments: Invest in facials or try gentle at-home treatments like dermaplaning once a month for an extra glow.
Nightly Routine: Keep your skin hydrated at night with a heavier moisturizer or an overnight mask.
Personal Style Icons: Think of someone like Serena van der Woodsen from Gossip Girl or a high-fashion model off-duty.
Curating Your Wardrobe: Focus on high-quality staples in neutral tones, like blazers, silky blouses, and tailored bottoms. Invest in timeless pieces that make you feel like a billion dollars.
Signature Look: A dream girl has her thing, whether it's an accessory, a makeup look, or a scent. Find what makes you feel like you and stick with it.
Self-Care Rituals: Prioritize manicures and pedicures, hair masks, and bubble baths. Set aside time every week to pamper yourself.
Polished Look: Even on your most casual days, aim to look put together.
Signature Hair & Makeup: Pick a go-to glam look that embodies your dream girl; maybe that's glossy lips and loose waves (for example).
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/62b9185d0cf477c94df4e1ce1bef4be5/43a4ab9d4b755bc8-e9/s540x810/ea6b9ab35b25374ee95b3826b7aa4bd677fb6639.jpg)
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/aebc2b3b38c7f9a1f0fd7643f2088c52/43a4ab9d4b755bc8-42/s540x810/d6acd359aa6f15142588e55a33b474748c38b83c.jpg)
Lifestyle & Daily Habits
Your routine should feel luxurious yet practical, setting the tone for each day. Small daily habits can transform how you feel and present yourself.
Weekly Pamper Sessions: Set aside Sunday evenings for facials, skincare, and champagne baths! (Be careful and make sure you're of legal drinking age)
Journaling and Reflection: Each morning, write down 3 things you're grateful for and 3 intentions for the day.
Goal Reviews: Every Sunday, celebrate your wins and see if any goals need a refresh.
The Basic Routine: Make your bed, wake up early, and put on an outfit that feels like you.
Energy-Boosting Habits: A quick stretch, a healthy breakfast, and a moment of quiet can make a huge difference.
Wind-Down Ritual: At night, unwind with tea, a bubble bath, or a short meditation to recharge for tomorrow.
Indulge a Little: Get a weekly coffee treat or a luxurious candle that makes your space feel cozy.
Luxury Experiences: Plan for a special outing every month, like a fancy dinner or spa day.
Signature Scents and Cocktails: Find your go-to perfume and a signature drink like a dirty martini or a bubbly glass of champagne.
Conclusion:
Becoming your dream girl is a journey; one that's glamorous, fulfilling, and full of growth. Each step brings you closer to living the life you deserve.

The Complete Guide to Reinventing Yourself for 2025 đ€đžđžđȘ© (Part I)

DISCLAIMER: This post/blog is not intended for everyone. This is a very niche-style blog that may offend those whose goals do not align with mine/my followers. If youâre uninterested or triggered by ultra-feminine beauty, style, wealth, and lifestyleâ this is not for you. Thank you đ€
STEP I: Pinterest Boards â Vision Boards
Treat yourself to a day where you invest in high-quality magazines and coffee table reads, luxe fabric samples, and a vision journal that resembles wealth (or your aesthetic). Cut out everything that embodies your dream life, your style icon looks, your ideal careerâ basically anything that radiates your version of main character energy. Display it somewhere fabulous, like your closet for example, where itâs a daily reminder of the life you want to live and the person you want to become.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/79aabd38f2842e39e4c2967a8bf1346b/74e4994467051f36-f9/s640x960/47757f81e6234817a9f0a3275fd2122919c20ace.jpg)

STEP II: Elevate Your Surroundings
Bring 5-star luxury into your home or space. Maybe this means adding lush textures, investing in coffee table books about interior design, high-fashion, fragrance, tourism, art, or business, or investing in a piece of art that speaks to your aesthetic. Create a space that embodies who youâre becoming in 2025.
STEP III: Perfect Your Signature Look
Iâll be making a post dedicated entirely to this step, but for nowâ find your new sense of style. Find a signature item or style that defines you, not anyone else. Find your âthingâ and work it. For example, Blair Waldorf and her headbands, or Serena for her messy, yet still chic hairstyles.

How to Wake Up Early

I always wanted to be one of those girls who would wake up early, go for a run and be super productive with their mornings. The issue is - i really love sleep. Every time i would start a routine, i would eventually fail. I would wake up to turn the alarm off, think to myself â5 mins moreâ and boom- itâs suddenly 8:30 am and i need to leave for work in less than 1 hour.
Two videos on YouTube really changed my mind. One was Andrew Hubermanâs, and the other was Jihyo, a k-pop star.
I came across Andrew Hubermanâs video about dopamine, and somehow, it helped me to understand why the difficulty waking up early is so important. Now Iâm no expert of neuroscience, but let me explain to the best of my abilities.
Dopamine is essentially the build up to the reward; it is not the reward. It is the satisfaction and happiness you feel (when your body releases), after you have achieved something that was painful/ required you to struggle a bit. In order to receive this reward, you have to feel pain, because pain and satisfaction are directly related to each other. Satisfaction without pain is useless and does nothing for you essentially.
That got me wondering: for me, waking up early is difficult. Itâs painful. I dont want to do it. But if I do it, its my first win of the day. Itâs the first challenge I have overcome of that day, and I always do feel amazing after. The dopamine release after the struggle of waking up and winning the battle of not going back to sleep is definitely there. I feel more confident because a) I have done the ârightâ thing b) selfishly, i can do something so simple that a lot of people struggle with c) it weirdly makes me feel more confident and like Iâm doing the first step of being an adult right.
Jihyoâs video was quite random - she did some show where it shows her daily life when sheâs not working. Parts of it made me feel like sheâs unable to just relax with herself (probably because her body and mind are so used to chaos, performing, her girl group living together for so many years) so she busies herself a lot. I took the positives from the video; sheâs extremely disciplined which I admired, she gets her chores done, sheâs good at ensuring that her space is truly her space.
So I decided to build a relatively foolproof routine; but mind you, it does require quite a bit of willpower.
Iâve developed a habit of waking of waking up at 5 am. I head straight for a 30-45 minute meditation and then at least an hour long workout. I stack my habits that way; right after meditation, I put on my running shoes. I used to really struggle with waking up, even if I had to wake up late. This is the strategy that worked me, see if it works for you.
1. Reset your space the night before
This makes you feel less stressed in the morning and also genuinely makes you feel like you have your shit together. Put your clothes away, keep your bag in its place, clean up your desk, reorganise your make up and skin care products. Youâre going to go to sleep and wake up to a clean space.
Make sure you define both your bedtime and wake up time. My bedtime is 9:30 pm - so i manage my chores, reading, dinner, everything around that.
2. Early dinner
Iâve noticed that early dinners help me sleep better. Iâve built the habit of casually walking for 25-30 minutes post dinner (not right after eating, after about 15 mins). Iâm not walking fast to a point where Iâm sweating and puffing, Iâm casually strolling outside. During this time, I donât listen to music, interact with anyone or my phone. I use this time to connect with myself and think about whatever I feel like.
3. No devices before sleeping
I donât want to stimulate myself before sleeping, so I prefer reading before bed. If you donât like reading, you can instead do your skincare, maybe revise some physical study notes, etc.
4. Using Alarmy app
This app is torture and I swear by it. This little thing makes you a solve a challenge of your choice in order to make the alarm stop, like math problems, puzzles, etc. I chose 5 math problems.
5. Keep your phone across the room
Donât charge it near your reach. Keep it as away from you as possible.
6. Stand for two minutes after shutting off the alarm
Donât allow yourself to snooze, or go back to bed. This is the part that really requires you to tell yourself: âi am not going back to sleep. Iâm going to wake up and do the things I have to do for my own benefit.â Remember - the states of heaven and hell are not outside of you, theyâre inside you. They are mental states. You have to fight with your lazy demon and tell him/her/whoever that NO; we are NOT going back to bed.
I charge my phone across the room so that forces me to walk first thing in the morning. To stop myself from going back to sleep, after i have shut the alarm off, i just stand for 2 minutes. I dont sit, or go back to bed. I stand and tell myself, weâre doing this. Weâre going to wake up and have an amazing day.
Your mind is like a child with tantrums and mood swings. Your rational self has to discipline your mind the way a parent would to a child.
7. Turn a small light on
Not something that is jarring or overwhelming, but enough to help you start waking up. I turn my phoneâs flashlight on and keep it on my desk.
8. Be consistent, even on weekends
The biggest mistake you can make is not being consistent. Your body doesnt recognise weekends, your mind does. Your body doesnât know that tomorrow is Monday, so its time to wake up early. By staying consistent (yes, I wake up at 5 am on weekends too), it allows my body to develop its own body clock and not wrecking the system Iâve kept in place.
What do I do if I have a late night?
It really depends. Letâs say I come home relatively early (+2 hours around my bedtime) around 11 pm, and im in bed by 11:30. Iâll wake up somewhere close to 5 am, like 6 am instead. The next day I ensure Iâm in bed by the bedtime Iâve kept for myself and wake up at 5 am again.
If I come home really late, like 3 am - i keep my alarm exactly 8 hours from that time. I need to get sleep, but oversleeping is an issue and that wont allow me to wake up early the next day. I want to get enough sleep where im rested for the day, but not excessively. Unfortunately, sleeping so late would definitely mean that i wont be able to fall asleep at my dot 9:30 pm bedtime, but i turn the lights off and get ready to sleep by then anyway, and mentally prepare for my 5 am wake up call.

Self-Care Sunday
Self-care is about prioritizing your well-being and doing things that make you feel good. Feel free to adjust the routine to best suit your preferences and needs. Here's a step-by-step guide:
Step 1: Set the Mood Create a relaxing environment by dimming the lights and playing soothing music. Light some scented candles or use essential oils to enhance the ambiance.
Step 2: Morning Meditation or Stretching Start your self-care Sunday with a short meditation session to clear your mind and set positive intentions for the day. Alternatively, indulge in gentle stretching or yoga to awaken your body.
Step 3: Skincare Ritual Begin with a gentle cleanse to refresh your skin. Follow up with a hydrating mask or a DIY face mask using natural ingredients like honey and yogurt. Take this time to pamper your skin and give it some much-needed love.
Step 4: Nourishing Breakfast Prepare a nutritious and delicious breakfast. Consider options like a smoothie bowl, whole grain pancakes, or avocado toast. Incorporate fruits, veggies, and protein to fuel your body for the day ahead.
Step 5: Journaling or Creative Expression Spend some time journaling your thoughts, goals, or things you're grateful for. Alternatively, engage in a creative activity you enjoy, like painting, drawing, or writing poetry.
Step 6: Relaxing Bath or Shower Take a soothing bath with Epsom salts, bath oils, or your favorite bubble bath. If you prefer a shower, use a fragrant body wash or scrub to refresh your skin. Consider playing calming music or listening to a podcast as you unwind.
Step 7: Hair Care Dedicate time to your hair care routine. Whether you're deep conditioning, trying out a new hairstyle, or simply giving your hair a break from styling, make it a moment of self-care.
Step 8: Mindful Reading or Learning Spend time reading a book that inspires you or teaches you something new. This could be a novel, a self-help book, or an article related to a topic you're passionate about.
Step 9: Nature Connection If possible, spend time outdoors in nature. Whether it's a walk in the park, sitting under a tree, or simply breathing in fresh air on your balcony, connecting with nature can be incredibly rejuvenating.
Step 10: DIY Spa Time Set up a DIY spa area and treat yourself to a manicure, pedicure, or both. Use a luxurious scrub and follow up with your favorite nail polish for a polished look.
Step 11: Mindful Eating For lunch, prepare a balanced meal that includes a variety of colors and nutrients. Eat slowly and mindfully, savoring each bite.
Step 12: Positive Affirmations Spend a few minutes reciting positive affirmations in front of a mirror. Remind yourself of your worth, strength, and beauty.
Step 13: Creative Cooking or Baking If you enjoy cooking or baking, spend some time in the kitchen preparing a special treat or a new recipe you've been wanting to try.
Step 14: Wind-Down Yoga or Stretching As the day comes to an end, engage in a gentle wind-down yoga session or some gentle stretches to relax your body before bedtime.
Step 15: Relaxing Bedtime Routine Wrap up your self-care Sunday with a calming bedtime routine. This could involve reading a few pages of a book, practicing deep breathing, or using a soothing lavender-scented mist on your pillow.
Remember, the most important thing is to tailor this routine to your preferences and make it a day that feels special and rejuvenating for you. Enjoy your self-care Sunday!

What's your high maintenance routine?
Every day is a day to dress up and look my best. 5am walks in the park call for cute workout fits. 12pm grocery runs call for a nicely styled outfit and jewelry. Thereâs no reason to ever look bummy.
Weather permitting, heels are a daily shoe. If Iâm not doing something casual or extensive that requires a sneaker or flat, if itâs not icy or raining, I put some heels on. Heels in the form of sandals, boots, wedges, doesnât matter. Not only does it make outfits cuter but itâs just hotter. Heels are the default, everything else is the exception. They donât have to be too high and definitely not painful, itâs just the principle.
Sexy pajamas are the only option. I always utilize my collection of cute silky matching sets. Soft to the touch and fun to look at.
Sexy panties are the only option. Lace trims, silks, bows, cheeky cuts, thongs.
Shower twice a day, stay exfoliated and moisturized. Cocoa butter to keep my skin plump. A spritz of Chanel perfume to smell expensive.
Hair and makeup is done at the same time I brush my teeth and wash my face. I get myself together first thing in the morning. Doesnât have to be a full va-va-voom face of makeup but a little something something to look more awake and lively makes a difference. I like to sleep with my hair in flexi rods to make curls quick and easy.
I put on athletic wear straight away to make sure Iâm ready to stretch and go exercise. When Iâm done for the day, I shower and put on a real outfit. I have so many cute clothes, so why not put them to use?
Donât feel like crafting an outfit? Deciding which top goes with which bottoms taking up too much time? I throw on a figure hugging cami dress. I have a nice handful of them in a variety of colors. Some with slits, some without. Paired with some simple jewelry, a little bag and a heeled sandal, I look like a million bucks with minimum effort. 60 second outfit.
I have my nails and toes done frequently, but always take a small break in between sessions to keep my natural nails healthy. Even a few days off will help prevent damage. When Iâm not wearing fake nails, I keep my natural nails filed short with a clear coat on top.
Athletic wear/t-shirts/leggings are for fitness activities and early morning errands on my way home from exercising. Not as a daily style. I always put on a real outfit.
Skincare, skincare, skincare. Non negotiable, not up for debate. AM and PM skincare routine no matter what.
I always have something to work towards and something to do. I try to avoid idle hands, engage my hobbies and work on my skills.
I care about putting God first and keeping His commandments. A spirit bogged down by the guilt of sin does not carry an attractive aura. People who live life on the right track shine brighter.
I do a posture check every so often. Sit up straighter and relax into it rather than looking like a stiff board. Walk with confidence as if Iâm a model strutting down the runway. Donât be too shy to take up space or be seen.
I light the candelabra every night so that we can have a candlelit dinner on the reg. I use the good china as the default. Our tablecloth is satin, our duvet and pillowcases are satin, the gold cutlery is the default cutlery. I enjoy the finer things and make it my daily life rather than waiting for special occasions and I want my family to have that standard set for themselves as well.

Letâs explore how you can stay productive and focused on reaching your goals during the summer months. Let's make this summer a time of growth, accomplishment, and making unforgettable memories.
Set Clear Summer Goals: Define Your Objectives Before diving into the summer season, take some time to reflect and set clear goals for yourself. Identify what you want to achieve, whether it's personal, professional, or a combination of both. Break down your goals into actionable steps and create a plan to keep yourself accountable.
Create a Summer Schedule: Balance Work and Play Craft a summer schedule that balances productivity with leisure activities. Allocate specific time slots for work, study, or pursuing your goals, while also carving out time for relaxation, socializing, and enjoying the outdoors. Finding the right balance will help you make progress while still embracing the essence of summer.
Prioritize Daily Habits: Consistency is Key Maintain consistency in your daily habits to support your productivity. Whether it's waking up early, exercising, journaling, or practicing mindfulness, establish a routine that aligns with your goals. Consistency breeds discipline and sets the foundation for accomplishing your objectives.
Focus on Time Management: Optimize Your Efficiency Time management becomes crucial during the summer when the temptations of vacations and outdoor activities are abundant. Use time-blocking techniques, prioritize tasks, and minimize distractions to make the most of your working hours. Be mindful of how you spend your time and ensure that your activities align with your goals.
Embrace the Power of Visualization: Picture Your Success Visualization is a powerful tool for achieving your goals. Take a few moments each day to visualize yourself accomplishing your objectives. Imagine the feeling of success, the steps you took to get there, and the impact it has on your life. This practice will fuel your motivation and keep you focused during the summer months.
Stay Flexible and Adapt: Embrace Opportunities and Challenges Summer is a season of spontaneity and unexpected opportunities. Stay flexible and be open to new experiences that may arise. Embrace challenges as opportunities for growth and learning. By maintaining a positive mindset and adapting to changing circumstances, you can make the most of the summer and continue progressing towards your goals.

Always start your morning with a nice drink like a coffee, matcha, or tea.
Say good morning to your pets, you can also text your friends and maybe, make some plans!! <3
Set an alarm so you wake up on time and don't feel rushed, for me, it's usually enough to just sleep with my blinds open!! :)
Open your windows to let some fresh air in, also make sure to check if any of your plants need water!!
Make-up and music. I love doing my make-up while listening to one of my playlists, it's the perfect way to set the mood <3
Positive affirmations!! You can write them on sticky notes and put them on your mirror so you'll see them while getting ready!! :)
Prepare a cute outfit the night before, and make sure to check the weather so you can plan ahead!
Don't skip breakfast, If you are busy, you can meal prep some overnight oat or chia pudding the night before.
Try reading at least 10 pages in the morning, it will help you feel more refreshed.
Make sure to check your bag, so you don't forget things like your lip combo, keys, and headphones!! Nothing worse than sitting on the subway without headphones (me rn) :((
As always, please feel free to share your own suggestions and tips in the comments!! I hope you all have a beautiful Monday/Week <3

things that helped me to really love myself
i have written this post in an inspired way (besides i have come up with many others) and this is honestly what has helped me to improve my self-esteem and to reinforce it these last few days so i want to share these tips with you and with all my love hope they will also help you đ€
change my mentality, understanding some things that i learned during my process of loving myself:
understand that if you focus all the time on the negative of the situation it will only attract more of the same, so try more and more to see the good things or not to pay attention to what you don't like.
it's all a matter of perspective. what i think or believe only belongs to me so i can't react badly to a situation or behavior of someone that i don't like. the power is in changing the focus of that and turning it into something more positive, or even if it's difficult at first to something neutral.
we all see the world in different ways, which we experience it differently and this we can change if we want to.
beauty is subjective. although there are beauty canons, each person has their own tastes, even body goals. each person is unique and not everyone likes the same things. for example, when it comes to getting a cosmetic job, our features are different, so we can not pretend to look like a celebrity of the moment.
we are unique as we are and accepting ourselves does not mean doing nothing to change, on the contrary, if we love ourselves and want to improve, the change flows much better towards us.
comparisons are useless because we each live a different life and have different goals to achieve.
it is useless to reach perfection. we are already perfect because we are human. if we look for perfection it means sacrificing our whole life and happiness to please others. besides, it is something that changes with time and you don't want to be changing yourself every few years to be accepted?
although we have heard it many times beauty is on the inside, it is true and this belongs to a principle called the principle of correspondence. as inside is outside, that is how we feel inside is going to be reflected on the outside, either in our physical appearance or in our life, depending on what it is. so if we focus more on improving that which is preventing us from loving ourselves it will be reflected in our life. we can work at the same time our interior and exterior, but we can not focus only on one of them.
the negative things that others say about us are only a reflection of them. so if someone has ever said something to you that offended you, the problem is not really with you, but with that person.
If we work on a good self-concept about ourselves, many of our insecurities will go away, and others we will be able to accept them and change them with love.
our value has nothing to do with our physical appearance, social status, race or any of that and much less comes from what other people think. the value we have is attributed to ourselves and as i mentioned before, how we feel on the inside will be reflected on the outside. so if you don't feel a valued person start doing it and you will see how everything changes around you.
self-love is the engine of our life. if we have confidence in ourselves everything will be much easier. there will be difficult situations but we will be able to overcome them and learn from them.
we can't change others, but if we can change ourselves, then our surroundings will change and many people will start to behave differently with you, both from your environment and unknown people. and this has to do with what i mentioned before, the principle of correspondence, as it is inside is outside and even the self-concept has to do with this.
how we perceive ourselves internally will be reflected on the outside, even if it is not true, you are believing it as truth, so it is a truth for you. so if we think that a person is not as we would like or that he changed or anything, we can change this, changing the concept that we have for example of relationships.
relationship failures are not always the other person's fault, it is the reflection you are projecting of that person because of what you believe. my boss is mean to me but not to others? my parents prefer my siblings?
If you don't believe me, then why are there people who behave super well with some and with others they are the opposite? surely it has happened to you, surely you are like that with someone.
well, everything is in changing the thoughts we have about those people so that they will behave the way we want them to behave towards us.
to abandon "earthly thinking" is what i call it, that is to believe that everything we see in our "3d" or reality is the truth and cannot be changed, when this is not so. we are creators of our own life and when we understand this and apply it, everything starts to work.
it is useless to believe in the law of attraction and try to manifest if you don't really believe that your mind is what is creating all these good or bad experiences that you are experiencing right now.
when a bad situation comes along it is very easy to get frustrated, cry and blame ourselves, but that doesn't help. if we recognize ourselves as creators we can turn that situation around even immediately, just by taking control of our thoughts and assuming that everything is going to get better.
this last has helped me a lot to reduce anxiety and situations that were very painful for me before changed completely when i changed my thinking and I am not talking about days, i am talking instantly.
an example to understand well the "earthly thought"
when something bad happens in your life, when someone tells you no, anything that you take for definitive, you keep thinking that this is a resounding NO, that this will not change, you are clinging to an earthly thought, you are blocking the flow of new possibilities in your life. however, if you do not accept that situation and you do not identify with it, you have all the power to change it. and how to change it? by assuming what you want to happen. it seems easy to say, but it is. just change the thought. they told you no? well for you it is a yes. apply it to the situation you want.
habits that helped me to love myself.
having a routine is fundamental because besides organizing our days and keeping us more focused on certain activities makes us feel happy and proud of ourselves. i always say you don't have to copy anyone's routine, but create one for yourself adapted to your current life or goals you want to achieve.
affirmations. affirmations are not a magic technique. for you to understand better, the recurring thoughts that you have in your mind, that you repeat to yourself, are affirmations, but negative affirmations, so if you use positive affirmations you will replace those beliefs. this will transform your reality.
i use affirmations daily. i repeat them out loud and i also write them down.
writing self-love affirmations repeatedly has made a very powerful change in me and it seems like a simple thing that doesn't work for some people, but it really does.
you can choose an affirmation and repeat it daily about 100 times. for this the affirmation should be short, for example "i love myself".
the 55x5 method has also helped me. in this case, i again chose an affirmation to reinforce my self-love and self-esteem and from there things started to come to my life, it made me change my perspective and understand many things that were necessary for my growth and to learn to love myself.
you can use the use of affirmations to sleep all night long, this has also given me incredible results. my recommendation is that you play the audio very quietly, you don't hear it but your subconscious does.
affirming in front of a mirror has also helped me. this is very powerful. in times of anxiety or stress, you can stand in front of a mirror and affirm that everything is okay, that you are okay and that the situation is okay. it does work.
you can also say your affirmations in front of the mirror or remind yourself that you, love yourself. at first, it will be uncomfortable until you get used to it.
retrospecting. this is after the affirmations, something that has helped me to love myself.
this is a practical exercise (i'll make a more detailed post about this) and is necessary to improve. in fact, it is one of the exercises i like the most, because it is a good way to put into practice what we are learning.
ask yourself questions about your life, about your situation, about what you would like to improve, about how you want to feel, and develop them.
it will help you to see things more clearly and calmly. in difficult moments you can revisit them and read them out loud.
this is a very effective guide to redirect our thoughts to more positive ones and also to realize what we really want and what we should work on.
another thing i do is something i made up. i write a list of things "i won't do today" and things "i will do today" and give two examples from my notebook.
"things i will not do today".
react to what i don't like
because it's my perspective and i may be wrong. i don't know the situation so i can't get ahead of myself.
"things i will do today
feel good about myself
because there are no real reasons why i have to feel bad, they are just some of my thoughts, but they are not the absolute truth.
i wrote more but i wanted to show you an example and to do this you just have to adapt it to your situation and make a list of the things you are not going to do and the things you should do instead.
another example could be to not judge others and its counterpart to be kinder to yourself and others.
another very powerful exercise is to write down things that are part of your old version, that is to say, what you want to improve about yourself and next to it what you are going to do to improve or what belongs to your new version.
i am going to give you some examples from my notebook:
things to do when you feel:
anxiety > meditate
sadness > write affirmations
worrying > do something else that keeps me busy
new behavior:
relax with meditation
thinking positive and turning the situation around
thoughts:
"it's my fault" > " i feel good about myself, i trust that everything is going to be okay"
"i am not enough" > " i love myself and approve of myself "
this is what it is all about, as always applying it to your situation. these are just examples that will help guide you better.
for your self-love process i really recommend that you get a notebook to write affirmations and do this kind of exercises or also to let off steam if you need to.
exercise. i love exercising. i used to do it to change my body but now i really love it. it's something that has helped me gain a lot of confidence and even feel better.
exercise has a lot of benefits for the body and also the mind.
my recommendation is to choose a sport or even go to the gym and do it daily.
our mentality at the beginning has to make excuses not to do it or think that we don't like it because it is something very hard to do, but we can change this and i did.
at the beginning for me it was complicated to do it until out of nowhere i started to affirm that it was easy for me to exercise and that i enjoyed it, it also helped me a lot to focus and set small goals.
i started doing 3 days a week, then 4 days a week and then i do it every day, because I really enjoy it.
so in general for any activity that you find hard to do what you have to do is to change your mentality about it and also set small goals that will motivate you to keep going.
for example if you don't like cleaning you can also find a fun way to do it like listening to music or a podcast.
this is a positive way to deal with things that at first may seem difficult and gain more discipline and motivation.
meditate: i also love to meditate, it's something i do every day, from the time i get up until i go to bed.
many people underestimate it and think it's not useful, but have you tried it for at least a week?
in my case it has helped me to focus on the present moment, calm my anxiety and manifest.
ways you can meditate.
guided meditations: you can find them on youtube and there are many types, from calming anxiety to relaxing mind and body, even to loving yourself.
meditate with music: you can look for a melody that you find pleasant and make breaths, focus on your breaths you can also visualize yourself in the situation that you would like or repeat affirmations like "i love myself" "everything is fine" are just examples and are things that if you practice you will discover over time.
you can also meditate without music and do the same process as described above.
eating healthy. eating healthy and nutritious food for my body has made me feel better about myself, improved my mood and also eliminated quite a few ailments or problems that i had in my body.
my recommendation is to do some research on healthy eating and its benefits. eat more fresh fruits and vegetables. you don't have to eliminate junk food but reduce it a lot. don't feel guilty for eating it either, but know its disadvantages for your health and be aware of it.
i do not recommend following any diet because each person is different and diets do not work because people try very hard the first two days and then end up quitting.
to start eating healthy you have to do it little by little. replace bad foods with good ones until you build a healthy diet. starting all at once is not going to work, you will end up getting frustrated.
and as i have said before and as i always say, mentality is the most powerful thing. i mean if we see healthy eating as a punishment for wanting to achieve a particular body type we will feel bad and we will see it as i have said, as a punishment, but however, if we change our perspective and enjoy eating healthy for all its benefits it will be a much easier and enjoyable process for us.
you can change the perspective of things, as i said nothing is definitive.
and I could go on writing but for today i think this is enough. hope you can understand it and also apply some of the things that helped me. i will continue writing similar posts and also about self-love. these are my experiences and what has really helped me and i am really happy for this process.

Basics of Understanding Your Colour Palette
Colour theory is really important to understand if you feel like you donât look good in your clothes. Sometimes the way a garment looks online on a model/ on a mannequin vs when we wear it look different, because of the difference in skin colours.
To understand what looks good on us, we need to figure out our colours. And in order to understand our colours, we need to therefore understand our colour palette, for which we need to know our complexion and undertone.
Now, Iâm no expert on this. But Iâm sharing how I found out about my colours and what worked for me.
So step 1: what is your complexion and undertone?
For this, we look at three things:
1. Skin
2. Hair
3. Eyes
A. SKIN
Complexion refers to the color of your skin, while undertone is a specific shade within that color.
1. Undertone:
See if you have cool or warm undertones by looking at your wrist.
The colour of your veins can help you determine your undertone.
Look at your wrist veins in natural light. If theyâre green or greenish-blue, you have a warm undertone. If theyâre blue or purple, you have cool undertones.
2. Complexion:
Hold a sheet of white paper next to your skin to find your complexion. Double-check your undertone color by looking at your arm next to a piece of white paper. You have a warm complexion if your skin looks yellow, green, or golden. If it looks pink, red, or blue, you have a cool complexion.
B. HAIR
1. Cool:
Black
Grey
Ash-y brown
White blonde
Ash-y blonde
2. Warm:
Brown
Red
Auburn
Strawberry blonde
Yellow blonde
C. EYES
1. Cool
Grey
Green
Blue
2. Warm
Hazel
Brown
Black
Step 2: understand your score
Out of these three categories, how many warm/ cool toned features do you have?
Hair: warm/ cool
Skin: warm/ cool
Eyes: warm/ cool
Use your score to figure out your type:
1. Cool leaning: 2 cool features and 1 warm feature
2. Warm leaning: 2 warm features and 1 cool feature
3. Completely warm: 3 warm features
4. Completely cool: 3 cool features
Step 3: skip if youâre completely warm or completely cool. If you are cool/ warm leaning, you need to then understand your contrast:
High contrast: hair is significantly darker than skin tone
Low contrast: hair and skin colour arenât too far apart
Step 4: now, letâs understand the four seasons.
1. Spring (warm)
2. Summer (cool)
3. Autumn (warm)
4. Winter (cool)
Anuschrees explains it well with these photos:
If you feel like you donât fit in these categories perfectly, there is a further explanation on 6 secondary factors:
1. Light: light hair, light skin, light eyes. Recommendation: soft, light and muted shades of your colour palette, e.g. peach (Spring) or a pale lavender (Summer).
2. Deep: Dark hair, warm eyes (brown/ hazel/ green). Recommendation: deep, vivid shades of your palette, e.g. deep terracotta (Autumn) or black (Winter).
3. Warm: Warm undertone, warm hair (golden blond- brown, strawberry blond to deep auburn). Warm eyes. Recommendation: the mid-range colours in your palette that are neither too intense nor pale, e.g. a medium tomato red (Autumn) or a soft aquamarine (Spring).
4. Cool: overall colouring has an underlying cool quality to it. Recommendation: you look best in the mid-range shades of your palette, e.g. emerald green (Winter) or periwinkle (Summer).
5. Clear: high contrast, warm hair, cool eyes. Recommendation: saturated, clear colours, e.g. a bright, warm pink (Spring) or hot pink (Winter).
6. Soft: little contrast between your skin, hair and eyes, hair is in between warm and cool, eyes are green, grey-blue, hazel or brown. Recommendation; soft, muted shades, e.g. olive green (Autumn) or blue teal (Summer).
Step 5: online research
Once I figured out my basic palette (autumn) I went online and began researching celebrities and colour palettes for it. I went through more colour palettes, celebrities and eventually felt that I was more true to a Warm Autumn. Pinterest was a great tool for that.
I also used this chart initially:
