Chapter 1 trial komahina..... you will ALWAYS BE FAMOUS. The betrayal, the attempt to understand something that cannot be easily understood, the sense of knowing someone you actually didn't, the idealization of a not fully formed relationship, this is komahina at it's bare essentials, this is komahina at their core....

☹️☹️☹️☹️ crying right now
I know a lot of people dislike the way the relationship between Hinata and Komaeda ends in the original game because it doesn't give them a proper resolution. While I wouldn't exactly say that it was executed properly, in my opinion (and this may be a pure result of overanalyzing), there's something really tragically beautiful, even poetic, about the way it all ends.
Both Hinata and Komaeda actually ended up understanding certain parts of each other, Hinata at the end understood Komaeda's beliefs to a certain extent, and Komaeda comprehended firsthand the desire of Hinata as an untalented individual to become "hope” but despite that, they failed to understand every other thing about each other.
Hinata never understood that Komaeda, even after he found out absolutely everything, still deeply cared about him. He never understood how the time they spent together, while short, meant so much to him, and Komaeda, for his part, died without knowing that while Hinata felt betrayed and hurt by his actions, he still deeply cared about him, even if he was reluctant to admit it. They both failed to understand how much they meant to the other.
And while this resolution is unsatisfactory because it never gives them a proper ending and all is left “on the air” with half-made understandings that were never communicated, that's actually how life is. Sometimes relationships end abruptly without any kind of idyllic and perfect closures, all completely ends before that can happen and fades away abruptly. It was completely impossible for them, on the unfortunate situation they were trapped, to reach for the understanding that they longed so much for.

listening to komaeda playlist. Not Komaeda. Not Komaeda. Not Komaeda. *lets out a deep belly laugh and wine spill from my chalice* Komaeda! *frowning again* Not Komaeda. Not Komaeda. Not Komaeda.
