Books on Abortion that I think everyone should read:
When Abortion Was A Crime, Leslie J. Reagan (1996) - this one is hard to read in a post-Roe America, but imo that makes it even more important.
The Turnaway Study, Diana Greene Foster (2020) - Another pre-Roe book, but I find this one much more accessible for people who don't usually read nonfiction/academic texts. The chapters alternate between sociological analysis and study participants telling their own stories.
Abortion: Our Bodies, Their Lies, and the Truths We Use to Win, Jessica Valenti (2024) - full disclosure, as of posting this (10/28/24) I have not finished this one, because it just came out. However, I've been following Valenti's work for over a decade now, and she's been one of the best sources for current abortion news since the fall of Roe.
I'll probably update this sporadically with other books and articles.

Banging on the walls chanting "OPEN ENROLLMENT FOR ACA THRU JAN 15" like some deranged town crier. Election results aside, you have options to access healthcare as a RIGHT through the ACA. NO one can dismantle the Affordable Care Act in less than 4 years, so SIGN UP! GET YOUR CARE! USE THE SYSTEM!
You have options RIGHT NOW that will be stable thru the next year, the one after that, and I'd be shocked to see them shrink even the year after that. That means RIGHT NOW you can get signed up for next year to gain 100% covered preventative care (your annual check ups, pap smears, dental cleaning, vision check). You have the option to get checked and screened as you need, do NOT be dissuaded from exploring ACA choices. They are SOLID, LEGISLATED, and WORK BEST WHEN PEOPLE USE THEM.
I can't change most things around me, BUT I CAN tell everyone I know that THEY CAN GET LIFE SAVING CARE. THEY CAN GET PRESCRIPTIONS. THEY CAN GET PREGNANCY CARE. THEY CAN GET CANCER CARE. AND THEY WILL GET THAT CARE!!!!!!
SIGN UP BY DECEMBER 15, 2024 FOR COVERAGE TO BEGIN ON JANUARY 1, 2025. ENROLLMENT AFTER 12/15/24 WILL HAVE COVERAGE BEGINNING FEBRUARY 1, 2025.

@danashehab has been fundraising since may and is just over €15,000 away from their goal l. as stated in the screenshot people are starting to believe the rafah crossing will open so it’s important to make sure everyone has the funds in case they are allowed to evacuate.
thee shehab family consists of dana (13), sahar (14), mona (9), malak (5), yehya (1.5), fahed, (38), reem (32), and grandmother mona (60). they have been shadowbanned and deleted a few times. you can also find this family at @monashehab
EDIT AUG 24:
The family has had to raise their goal to cover their extended family’s evacuation fees since they are unable to make a new GFM.
The new goal is €85,000.

Ezekiel is a librarian who used to be a world class thief and used to work at mi6, not one of which his mom knew about, I'd love to see her go "Are there any OTHER insane jobs you've had that I should know about, Ezekiel!?!??"

Ezekiel is the most understanding, empathetic, and emotionally intelligent of the group, there is no debate there, it's seen throughout the show
But the conversation he has with Cassandra in the minotaur episode about trust and such sticks out to me a lot
Mainly him telling her that he would have done the same thing but *worse*, his exact words being that he would have stuck the landing or something to that effect
This is interesting to me because it shows that one of the reasons he's able to trust his team is that he knows that they are "better people" than him, he trusts them to be good people even when they do bad things, a benefit of the doubt he will give anyone but himself in many cases
Something about Ezekiel trusting his team because he sees himself as bad and them as good kind of hurts me deep inside, especially as I watch more and more instances of every single person in the show, *including* ezekiel himself, having a skewed view on who he is as a person.
No one understands him, no one knows what's really behind the mask, not even himself
It's like he only sees himself as the persona and not all the kind things he does in secret, it's like he forgets that he's a good person doing bad things and not the other way around, because that's what he is, a good person doing bad things sometimes, he is innately kind and helpful but he hides it to portray a persona to the rest of the world that he himself often gets lost in
It just makes me feel so bad for him, he can't see that he's a good person and no one knows him well enough to remind him

Pesky reminded me Ezekiel Jones exists and gods do I love that Ezekiel Jones exists.
Who pauses in dealing with the Problem of the Week to teach a hospitalized little girl to pick locks so she can get the best jello whenever she wants? Ezekiel Jones!
Who gets stalked by an animate gargoyle and not only adopts it but mourns it’s death? Ezekiel Jones!
Who finds out people are being bodysnatched and is the most upset out of the cast because that’s a horrible thing to do? Ezekiel Jones!
Who finds out he and his team are stuck in a videogame and proceeds to lock them up so he can do all the testing and dying to figure out how to beat the level without them getting hurt? Ezekiel Jones!
Who is confronted with Frankenstein’s Monster and quickly not only talks him out of fighting but also helps him get set up on a dating app and looking at career options where he could excel? Ezekiel Jones!
Who pretty much immediately forgives a teammate for betraying them out of desperation and proceeds to support and encourage her whenever he can? Ezekiel Jones!
Who, when confronted with a person so damaged by a stint on reality television that she turned to obsession potions to feel in any way loved or worth while, and proceeds to show her understanding and faith enough to pull her from this dark path and get her believing in her own ability to be loved? Ezekiel Jones!
Who, when given the Loch Ness Monster’s egg to babysit, proceeds to parent the fuck out of it? Ezekiel Jones!
Whose worst version of himself is a man who steals like he breathes and uses the profits to fund needed infrastructure in poor and developing areas? Ezekiel Jones!
Who admits he was inspired to do this because his mother- who taught her children theft, greed, and selfishness as damn near religious virtues- still took in four kids off the street when she had little enough herself and proceeded to raise them as best she could, despite her many flaws? Ezekiel Jones!
And I’m probably forgetting stuff this is all off the top of my head! He is fantastic and wonderful and the best part of The Librarians I cannot be convinced otherwise!

Ezekiel: Why do you recognize that it's Katy Perry?
