I am going to try to keep this brief. I am the main provider for two other disabled people. One of them was recently diagnosed with Large B cell lymphoma. We knew she had cancer, we have an official diagnosis now. The doctors say it's treatable, she'll start chemo soon, the port is getting placed this week. Everything is moving fast.

In the US, being on disability heavily limits the amount of funds you can have each month. Her insurance will not cover all of the treatment or most of the necessities involved. I am going to need to see her through this.

Additionally, being queer and disabled, we may need to jump through a lot of legal hoops or flee the state in the not so distant future. Oh, and things are still tense from the guy who owns the land we live on assaulting my roommate who doesn't have cancer.

In a small corner of Gaza, where the lights fade and darkness falls, Mahmoud sat alone, thinking. He was a young man like any other, dreaming of a better future, a safe home, and a job that would provide him and his family with a decent life. But the dream turned into a nightmare, and life into a daily struggle for survival.

Mahmoud's family, which includes 43 members, lived under the burden of siege and war. They lost their homes, and watched their dreams fade before their eyes. Every day was a new challenge, searching for a living amidst the lack of water and electricity, and the fear of bombing that could come at any moment.

"I saw hope in the eyes of my children, but the siege was taking it away from them little by little," Mahmoud says sadly. "They wanted to play in the streets, and go to school, but all that surrounded them was destruction and fear."

Mahmoud's dream now is simple, to get his family out of this hell, and to start a new life in a safe place. But the costs of migration are high, and far beyond their means.

Noha is a story of courage and determination. She reminds us that disability is not a barrier, and that anything is possible if you are determined enough.

“We need your help,” Mahmoud says, his voice trembling. “We need a chance to build a better future for our children.”

remaking this post bc the poll ended + i am still in desperate need of help.

if you chose one of the answers on this poll, i would really appreciate the share. i am an afro-indigenous, severely disabled/medically complex person with no support system near me. i was homeless from december 2023 to september 2024 and it was an extremely hard time for me, especially since my chronic illness makes me very vulnerable.

i cant get more gov assistance rn for a few different reasons but i still need help paying bills every month. my storage bill is currently late, i owe klarna a bunch this week, rent is due at the end of fhe month, and i'm running low on food stamps.

notes havent really reflected the amount i've raised recently and its mostly only a handful of people who help. the reality is that even a very small contribution can help a ton! so please, PLEASE help me survive. its getting harder all the time but i would like to eventually have more security/stability in my life 💕
