It has been quite remarkable to experience  the care affection and concern from the entire human universe .. a coming together to battle, to fight, against a common enemy .. 

Rarely has there been occasion when the humaneness of the human has displayed uniformity .. we may be in different colour, caste, creed, religion, belief, language or territory .. each one of us in its spontaneity has extended voluntarily that hand of hope succour and suggestive help to one and all .. the emotion , the intent is deliberate and with just one goal .. be safe .. be alive and live ..

Humanity has destroyed , plundered, annihilated, killed mercilessly their own .. but today they all .. ALL .. wish and pray and we live and survive and be together in this hour of trial …

NATURE , has proved to us all .. that it is SUPREME .. no other power or force on this planet, known or unknown shall ever be able to replace it ..

… some associations need to be remembered and documented for posterity .. for they be the pillars on which a profession stands with pride and dignity .. for the contributions made in the field of film making , studio professional building and bringing state of the art facilities to the largest film making nation of the World .. 

The Indian Film Industry .. 

.. not the ‘other’ expression ..  a mockery of our standing and merit  !

.. and a film group introduced by YRF , the Studio and Production House built from humble beginnings into what is now considered the most proficient production Studio of the country .. conducts a talk with those that came in contact with the man ..

.. a complex and a facility, the dream of that very special maker .. Yash Chopra 

.. now being given value addition by his Son Aditya Chopra, Uday Chopra and his wife Pamela Chopra ..

.. so one talks and informs to them that have been born much after the works and the climate of the film world has undergone a sea change .. and one wonders whether it would be of any given interest .. other than .. well never mind ..

… and then some interesting conversations on the marketing of films and the kind of utilities needed for them , and the modern environ ..

.. what really is the template for an act that never existed in my time .. it was just hand painted posters at vantage points of the city and that was IT ..

.. now with all kinds of studied variations on the Industry and how it behaves, one finds oneself a little unsettled and not entirely convinced of the modalities that - yes professional companies - indulge in .. giving very corporate sounding vocabulary instincts on how the job needs to be accomplished ..

.. and we succumb to them .. and whether or not the exercise has worked or not , is debatable ..

A day of greetings .. Christmas greetings .. of cheer and peace and harmony and well being .. and the angel on my desk carved in wood expresses all, in its benevolence ..

..  the expression captured in its face and eyes says more  ..  

.. a benignity , a social consciousness .. a compassion .. to humanity , to them that live and exist in possible quietude .. conditioned to themselves .. in their own world and realm .. content and fulfilled ..

But do they really ..

When ever did we extend our selves to the ‘other’ to perhaps discover , realise their silent state .. or that which brings them to such condition .. if there be a condition .. a condition known or unknown .. not just to themselves but to another ‘other’ ..

.. and we meet today as a group, long hours by the setting sun .. by the end of day .. by the end of light .. into the darkness of night ..

.. a darkness that reveals nothing but the unknown .. to them yes .. but to another , perhaps not ..

.. so do the ‘another’ , or does the ‘another’ desire to know .. know the condition of the darkness, or there be a revelation that remains silent, unspoken .. in the fear of its reveal .. throttling its express than to open the vocal and scream or whisper or just talk ..

.. learned and concerned minds that wish and have worked long years in this direction apprise me of the designs and conditions .. of them that suffer .. of them that have been given a term .. a term that goes by a name ..

.. a name ..

… mental health .. depressive conditioning .. mental disorder .. depressive and anxiety disorders .. relationship between mental disorders and physical conditions .. considering depressive and anxiety disorders independently ..

.. depression without anxiety .. anxiety without depression .. depression plus anxiety ..

.. disturbing to even think about it let alone discuss .. discuss for what .. to bring succour and relief .. to explain to find condition from self reports .. or through diagnosis ..

BUT how .. ??

I can discover a medical condition through diagnosis, through tests of various kinds .. get the blood and find .. put the body under a scanner .. an MRI .. know the inside conditions ..

.. but mental disorder .. depressive conditioning .. are there any yardsticks or any ‘red flags’ - as the expression goes among them that seem to know what they are talking about - to ascertain, to know the how and when and where ..?

.. they talk of the statistics .. of the many that suffer and the need to identify them and tell them, educate them on how to overcome it ..

all very well and honourable .. but how to know whether one is in a mental depressive disorder .. ?

what be the symptoms ? do they fall in order of a generalisation ? can you look and tell .. ?

I can get my TB and my Hep B and my neck condition, diagnosed through tests and reports , but reports and tests for depression or mental depressive conditioning .. !

Are there ..?

How do I know I am a patient or a sufferer , or ..?

Unless I know, how do I think treatment .. that is if treatment is available in such conditioning .. or whether I need treatment ..

How does one disclose it .. does one have the capacity and the mental strength to speak or disclose it ..

Is my mental strength sufficient enough to discover the ‘disclose’ .. or has the strength been saturated and squeezed dry to perform any such act ..

I ask and debate and get no answers that can satisfy my curiosity .. to guide me to lead a campaign of awareness .. if I am not aware of the aliment or its process of diagnosis, how is it expected that I guide ‘others’ to its repair ..

How do I ascertain that the Ef that connects with me suffers or is on the brink of it ..

Does anyone know ..?

Have you encountered any such .. how did you find out .. what did you do then .. what happened after .. ?

The art of debate and questioning be the quality to be able to defeat the one that is being questioned .. they that ever question be the divine and the ultimate .. in their pride lies the common that succumbs to their asking .. 

.. they that ask then be in the bracket of superiority .. above all else .. below none .. in the knowledge better than any other .. and forever victorious .. sublime be their countenance .. they live and exist each roaming hour of the day in the extreme ability of how and why and when they slammed another .. slammed to the count of 10 .. slammed and over .. never for the other to get up and seek a reverse countdown .. for them the entire day is filled with just the thoughts of their one sided victory .. one sided because they were never going to be in a situation where they would be compelled to answer .. glory be to them then .. and glory be to their reputable craft .. they be on the victory stand with their anthem .. their emotion and first on podium ..

.. i see this all day long .. the Fowler , precision ups and downs and bends in the bed .. the TV .. Premier League and .. yeeeeeaaaaahhhhhhh .. a Chelsea win .. the youngest PL team .. there is a dynamic 17 year old and a 19 year old in the team .. still studying in School .. this is the generation of the young .. I believe in another couple of years India shall have the youngest population in the World .. some estimates state 60% of populace to be young ..

.. and the West is worried .. they have the elderly .. we have the Gen Z .. and they shall rule .. what a time to be living .. time to go in a time warp and get young again .. !!!🤣

spare times in the bank .. lying around , skipping time to go by in rapid form .. and reminiscing the work front by the day after .. when there shall be the chair and the computer ji and the audience .. but first the left overs of incidents from the times of DON and the cracks and breaks now playing up .. and placing themselves in important avenues which restrict movement .. at times of this it may be of interest too .. to the body , but not the mind .. 

so one listens to the body .. and many shall there be who will applaud and commit to say .. “ did we not tell you this to slow down” ..

Slow down .. ?

Thats what you tell the vehicle or the train on road and track .. so .. what 😛

Sad and in regret to not be able to travel for KIFF to Kolkata .. an event that has invited me for years .. I think now 7 years .. and the speech .. glorifying cinema and the research by educated assists from dear friends .. gone .. but there is communication established whether I could read it on video and send to them to be played at the Closing ..

.. the occasion to attend such events .. to be in the presence of an audience .. to deliver .. all such a frightening proposition .. nerves on end .. what to say , whether it shall be accepted .. what if not .. why must I accept such .. just leave me alone .. please .. I am not capable of presence at all .. but NO ..

.. they keep coming .. and refusal seems odd and at times misunderstood as being either difficult or arrogant .. but yes it comes with the territory and needs attention and will and acceptance .. so one bears .. inadequate ever, but yet to show presence ..😕

.. around the Fowler .. they insist its time to sleep off .. so

THE BASICS OF NOVEL WRITING

First off, you have to know these two things:

Your first draft of your first book will be terrible.

All your favorite authors of all time wrote a terrible first draft of their first book too. Probably a terrible second and third draft, maybe even a terrible second and third book.

This is okay. It can make writing hard sometimes, but the point of writing is not to whip out a masterpiece the first time you type: it’s to have fun exploring new settings, watching new characters grow, and being the first person to ever experience this story–your story–progress!

So, where do we begin?

Know thine story.(or ya know… to don’t.)

Before you tackle any kind of project that will take months, even years, of work you want to first decide what you’re actually doing. In the case of writing, we outline. (Or sometimes, we deliberately choose not to online, but only after we thought about outlining and maybe tried it out a little.)

There’s no wrong way to outline. Every writer does it differently, and therefore there’s about a million different methods. You can instantly find a ton of them using google, and these are a bunch of my own personal outlining tips.

The things you should know by the end of your outline include:

Setting. Where does your story take place? What does this place feel like? (If it were being filmed as a movie, what would the color palate look like?)

Worldbuilding. If you’re using a real place, how much research have you done? If you’re creating the setting from scratch, in which ways is it like our real world and in which ways is it not? (You don’t need to know everything about your world building going into a project, but it’s good to keep track of what you haven’t figured out yet, so you don’t get to the end of the rough draft and realize that everything you made up along the way contradicts itself.)

Main Characters. Who are they and what do they want? What beliefs or flaws are keeping them from getting what they want, or driving them to want something which hurts them? What’s the first trait someone notices about them? (Check out this nifty character creation sheet for some simple development questions!)

Plot. Now, plot sounds scary to a lot of writers, but a plot is just the accumulation of your other story aspects put at odds with each other. Your characters will make choices trying to get what they want, and those choices will effect the rest of the world, which in turn comes to bite the characters in the butt and force them to make more choices until eventually they get what they want, for better or worse. That’s the basis of a plot: it’s everything standing between your character and the rest of their life. (If you don’t have any semblance of a plot, check out these nifty tricks.)

Genre. Specifically, why are you telling this story in the genre you chose? How do the themes and tropes of the genre work with your story? What would the story look like in another genre?

Optional: The Beginning. If you come to the blank page of death without knowing exactly where you’re starting it can be incredibly daunting. Check out my tips on writing the first act for more help.

However you chose to outline, (and whether you chose to outline at all), the most important thing to know going into a story is what will produce the central conflicts?

Conflict drives a story. 

Conflict between characters and other characters.

Conflict between characters and the obstacles to their desires.

Conflict between characters and their own flaws and beliefs.

Even if you have no idea where your story will go or how it will end, as long as you start out your story with a conflict that’s difficult to resolve, you’ll always be on the right track!
