LITTLE THINGS: Now’s the time for festive fun – to celebrate your job well done!

It’s 6:36 in the evening and I am currently trying to digest some things that happened in the past few months while munching on some snacks. It’s been a while since I last published something in this personal blog of mine. 

To give an update with what’s happening in this crazy life of mine, I am currently on my summer vacation and in less than 10 days I’ll be back to hell aka school. I’m an incoming grade 12 student studying at the Pontifical and Royal University of Santo Tomas. It’s been 2 months since my first ever academic year in my dream university ended. Adjustments were really challenging. Every single day just gets harder and harder. Everything’s just different. It is my first time to transfer in to another school. 

From 10-15 minutes travel time going to my previous school, I now allot 2-3 hours travel time before my first class starts since UST is a few kilometers away from our house. From hatid-sundo to commuting. From getting home at 3-4 pm and sometimes 5-6 pm when I have extracurricular activities to getting home at 8-9 pm since my last class ends at 6 pm during the first semester and 4:30 pm during the second semester, and because of the everyday struggle of commuting. From being classmates and seatmates with my boyfriend to being in a different school. From having lots of friends surrounding me to having only one friend to be with everyday. Well, these are just some of the adjustments that happened and I experienced from the past academic year. 

Everything’s just so hard, exhausting, frustrating, painful, and all of the other words synonymous to the words mentioned. I entered UST without even knowing how to make friends. I was indeed innocent. There are times that I just to cry and give up. There are times that I just don’t wanna go to school because I am too tired to function. 

But at the end of the day I am reminded why I am in this university. I am reminded of the dream that I am striving for. I am reminded of the future that I want to live and the goals that I have. I am so blessed to have my family, my friends, and my boyfriend in this journey that I am in. Heart to heart talks with the people who inspire me motivates and energizes me to strive more and more each day. Everything will never be the same if I am not surrounded with the best people. 

Everything in this life is hard but heaven sent me angels (my family, friends, boyfriend) to make it easier for me to deal with this race called life. I will not be who I am today without the people who guide me. I will not be this strong without the people who I am with every single day. I will not be in this state right now without the people who motivate me to strive more. 

It’s the little things that count and matter. I may have not graduated yet but soon I will. One last academic year and I’ll finish high school. But for now, the adjustments I’ve done deserve a long post. It may be small compared to graduating and having awards and medals but this matters to me. I believe that this is one of the steps that I should take to reach the dreams and goals that I have.
